This is one of the coolest entries that I've seen KISS do on any of their past tours, which I;ve seen every one since '83 Lick It Up tour! I was at the Pittsburgh show in July &I will be seeing them this Sunday in Cleveland @Blossom .;can't wait! I love KISS , nobody can hold a candle to them-PERIOD!
Agreed. These kinds of shows require so many people doing lots of things. I’ve always been in awe and respect for all the muscle it takes to make these things happen. Seeing it from the 70’s till now would be a hugely interesting perspective.
As of today 4 people can't appreciate the greatest rock n roll show on Earth, and 4 other people are still kicking some serious ass after nearly 40 years -- the latter are KISS.
So astounding that you share this, you guys care about your fans (people saying nasty, not-there-and-going-through-it unnecessary stuff are not fans). Thanks for this kindness.
Saw them in Fresno this past Feb. ....my 7th time.seeing them....first time with Tommy and Eric.. ....awesome!!!....Lip Sync my ass....it was all 100%!!
@@rickr2029 ....I was watching them closely as they sang....being a Musician graduating from Music School...i am very good at detecting faking.....I was 5th row....they would sing and back away from the mic....fading perfectly...also...they would sing a song and say Fresno in the lyrics.....never did I hear or see vocals out of sync...not one time....American Bandstand and Soul Train had their musical guests lip sync and you could tell...lips moving when words weren't heard etc....not one time in Fresno OR in Oakland did I see any lip syncing....and I was in the pit for both concerts....bpm aren't exact EVERY concert....there is no way to sync back tracks to Live playing...but....thats just my opinion.....
REEEAAALLLYY? Tuco, you shoud have a serious kiss album collection to get 'Ace is a God!!! KISS' trick. you're the only one here who have no clue to understand what he's referring to, so shut the fuck up dork
I had a crew's eye view from 10:30am to about 5:45pm @ the 1st ever Kiss Madison Square Garden show. I was in the front row in Hartford 2 nights before. (The obviously jewish kid with long hair and a green down jacket). I also saw Gene get out of a limo and go into the Hartford Sheraton lobby as we were walking past the entrance. This black guy who was always around at hard rock concerts in Hartford said "Hey Paul!" Gene didn't even turn to look and said "You got the wrong one" Anyhow, my 2 friends and I were hanging by the M.S.G. stage door entrance on the sidewalk just to see if anything interesting would happen. A lady got out of a cab and had a bunch of stuff to bring in. She asked if we would help her carry the stuff in. As we soon found out, there was some sort of antiques show going on in the rotunda under the stands.Turns out she was working the Hungarian exhibit. She offered to pay us and we asked her to just say we were with her instead. We watched the stage being built, talked with roadies , saw the band arrive for the sound check without makeup or costumes. Peter Criss was wearing a Detroit Red Wings jersey. I thought it was cool because I was a goalie at Glastonbury High then. ( I made a custom molded fiberglass mask and painted it exactly like Gene's makeup) Lol . Anyway, when we got a little bolder and went out to see the completed stage setup, the general manager of MSG started yelling at us yada yada yada. We got booted and wound up on the elevator with a couple of guys from New York Dolls. They were getting passes for the party after the show one was going on about how he remembered Kiss used to open for "us" , now look at them. We asked who's "us" lol. He got into a boring Buick on the street. We had terrible seats about 3 rows from the roof, on the opposite end of the arena from the stage. Fun day though.
Very cool perspective, thanks for sharing! And I will say this.. I was in Pittsburgh a few months ago in the front row, and people were going crazy, including me!! Hell, that's the fun of being that close! Don't know why, but the audience did seem a little out of it, this is not the norm for front rows of KISS, at least if I'm there :)
Haters make me laugh. And that look like a big crowd of not bored but happy/lucky people IMO.I really dont get you haters if dont like KISS well thats fine and dandy. But why watch or make nasty comments .Let us real KISS fans enjoy this great behind the scenes clip in peace.
I don’t see any stereos or tape players blasting backing tracks. Just a legendary band playing their umpteenth sold out show. Haters seriously have to fuck off.
I was surpised at how loud that was! I saw them on the Alive 35 tour, when they came down from the top of the stage, same idea though, all the fog coming down. You could not hear it at all over the music, and crowd. It a good thing they wear In Ear Monitors, or else they could never stay in time. Aha
I was in a band that opened for these guys on this tour. Everyone was great to us took care of our gear fed us had our own dressing room. Doc Magee their manager was great. We hung out backstage quite a bit. Stage looks great from a distance I thought it was funny standing on it it was pretty beat to shit. Gene Paul everyone was great to us. The band was called DoDriver we were from Buffalo n.y.
AMY, I met these guys in 2012 as a fan at 14 (my profile photo) and they are humble as all hell. I was in tears speaking of Stand from Sonic Boom saving me from the brink of Suicide due to bullying when on my knees after VIP Photos. The guys had me there for 15 minutes straight to give me strength and calm me down. I had an anxiety attack with tears and apologized profusely with the shakes. Tommy said that had their crew tried to get me out mid way then they’d have been fired on the spot without a chance of pay. They extended the timer for VIP and everything. I will never forget Paul’s words to me that he spoke in my ear, encouraging me to breathe and fight through the pain to get through my story. I saved $1,385 in 3.5 years when earning $6 a week for their VIP which was $1,250 and then merchandise shopping which was another $135. They were my first major meet and greet. I was 14 then and am turning 23 now in September. Going to college to be an Entrepreneur and Advertising and Promotions Manager; They’re the reason why I work to promote for new bands these days. They said that they wanna be at the top of my mountain when I get there and be available to help me from afar every step of the way. I’ve been in by mail contact with them for over ten years, since May of 2010 when I was 12. They responded back in 2011 when I was 13 and then I met em face to face in 2012 at 14 after getting into them through Sonic Boom in 2009 when I was 11. 💖❤️💙💚
It's pretty badass that you opened for Kiss, you're in some amazing company like AC/DC, Rush, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Bob Seger, Tom Petty, John Mellencamp, Motley Crue, etc. etc. So if you open for Kiss, you must be good.
Thank you for posting this! its a neat video. The crowed kinda of sucked up front though. I wanted to be up front so bad and the people who were just stood there staring at the stage. So lame. GET INTO IT!
@Jayoriley There's a device they call personal P.A. or 'in-ear' monitoring, which are specially developed for pro musicians so they can hear one another whithout having to rely solely on stage monitors. It's like listening to a CD as opposed to the mayhem one experiences in a louder than heck show like KISS's. The marvels of modern technology...
Y'all are delusional. Ace and Peter had multiple chances and they blew it. Don't be upset and call Tommy and Eric names just because they are more reliable and better musicians. Either enjoy it for what it is or move on. Not a hard thing to do.
This is one of the coolest entries that I've seen KISS do on any of their past tours, which I;ve seen every one since '83 Lick It Up tour! The person doing the legendary "You Wanted The Best" intro is Spike. He was Gene's bass tech at the time.
