The main issue is not management or politics. The main issue no one wants to speak about is Islamisation of Pakistani players from the early 2000s. This was the time when some good players started getting influenced & joined Tablighi Jamaat and started influencing other players too and even converting Yusuf Yohana to Islam. That is the time from which the real downfall started. Religion over Cricket.

I believe South Asian teams have a great potential when it comes to cricket. India is a beast. Pakistan plays good cricket too, they just need to regain their form. Their downfall started when they removed Sarfaraz Ahmed from captaincy Imran Khan shutting down departmental cricket and reducing FC teams to 6 adding insult to injury plus they are still sticking with 90s Era cricket which India played in 2022 T20 World Cup it ended up in heavy criticism from ex players now Pakistan should adopt aggressive brand of cricket like England did during Morgan Era
Here comes Sarfu fanboy. Blud Pakistan was already on a downfall when Sarfu was captain. We were white washed like minnows in NZ and ENG, failed to make it to knockouts in Asia Cup and WC19. Lost a Test series for the first time in UAE - that too to SL, then to NZ in same venue. Only statpadded wins in T20 format, most of whom came against second string sides as T20 was not priority at that time.

Lost T20 series to full strength SA and ENG in 2019. In Tests, he was the first captain to lose a series in UAE - that too to a weak SL team, next year lost to NZ in same venue. Sarfaraz just got lucky with the CT, exactly like Babar got lucky in WC22 and played finals. He was okayish in T20i because 9 out of 11 series he won were either against weak teams (like C side of WI in IPL window in 2017 and 2018, vs B teams of AUS & NZ in 2018) or second string sides. Only significant wins were 2-1 in NZ and beating AUS in tri series final.
As a batter he was a plain faiIure. Avg of 24.08 in ODIs as captain and 24.4 in Tests. In T20s used to hide behind Hasan Ali and Wahab Riaz. What a c0ward !

Even in ODI format, when Pak team encounters A team of top sides, they are exposed! Even T20 has been a poor show in recent times. It's definitely a sign of downfall

Great video but a little disappointed that you didn't elaborate Misbah's captaincy tenure. He played a crucial role in the continuity of cricket in Pakistan, winning Asia Cup 2012 and runner ups of Asia Cup 2024. Also, you mentioned Azhar Ali taking the captaincy but didn't specify that he was only ODIs captain which might have misconceived people into thinking that he took Pakistan to no.1 Test ranking when that was under the captaincy of Misbah as well. Present pakistan players are extremely talented but instead of upskilling their talents. They are leisurely time passing and roaming around the world partying and enjoying. Their discipline,lack of focus is one more reason. Without discipline you cannot sustain for longer period of time in cricket. Talent,skill without discipline is simply wasted. All the present pakistan players are match winners but they are not practising and upgrading their skills. And it will set a bad example to coming generation players.

Pakistanis may not like this but the truth is Pakistan cricket is in downfall because the players are concentrating more on Religion than playing Cricket. The rot in Pakistan cricket started in the 2000s when many of their good players joined Tablighi Jamaat one after another and influenced other players to join. That is the reason you see Pakistani cricketers will offer namaz on the ground to show how religious they are than concentrating on cricket.
