There’s a lot lack of knowledge in our world. Religious figures often abuse this, business ppl do so as well, and then there are the ppl that genuinely believe they are right and try to,impose their way of thought or beliefs on others. The amount of views this video has reflects the attitudes society has toward science based knowledge. I’ve been thru it all and my mind being finally scientific and critical thinking I was able to over come so many limiting beliefs. Thank you both for putting this out. I’m older and you just confirmed what I’ve learned the hard way about male sexuality.
How has pornography influenced your sexuality? Whether positively or negatively, how do you think it has shaped your understanding of arousal, climax, and sexual relationships?
Negatively. Dr. Prause's comment; "They may not want to see that" regarding pain on a woman's face...that encapsulates what porn has become and why it's a problem. Also, as she says, those who view clitoral stimulation are more likely to emulate it. The question is, how much of that is what people are watching? How much is choking, gagging, violence, etc. and how is that impacting kids and their relationships?
@@briandane5612 All great questions. Those of us with daughters, have our own worries, albeit mine are old enough to do as they please, not necessarily any other individual. There is a obviously, a lot more information out there these days, and as for porn, it needs to be explained, that these are more less actors, and not average individuals enjoying one another sexually, porn is all about MONEY, and I read that human trafficking can be part of the porn industry as well, although I'm unsure if that's been proven explicitly? Nonetheless, overstimulation, where some men don't understand it, can be problematic in itself, which is where women need to use communication in their relationships with their partners. Violence, as mentioned above is where it should be brought up to the law enforcement individuals, as no one, should be forced to do something sexually that they don't want to do period!
I was really surprised to hear her say emphatically that there's no dopamine release at climax.. that idea is more than just a myth about pornography use, it's something that's referenced by other researchers. Daniel Sher specifically describes a "dopamine surge" during orgasm in an interview for Science Alert about what fMRI studies reveal about climax. That's not to say she's wrong, just that the messaging is confusing. I feel like there must be more to it that I'm missing? Like is there a dopamine buildup leading up to climax but not technically a "flood" all at once? Or is she saying that the role of dopamine in orgasm is over hyped and largely tertiary? I'm gonna be puzzling over this for days 😂 anyway this was great as usual, look forward to the next one.
