PAMUKKALE, THE THERMAL POOLS OF TURKEY

Today we are going to visit Pamukkale, the thermal pools of Turkey. More than 600 kilometers from the capital, Pamukkale is one of the most touristy places in Turkey. The place is in the Aegean region, in the valley of the river Menderes, which has a temperate climate during most of the year. This set of thermal pools of limestone origin arranged on a mountain over 200 meters high, white as snow, justifies the name Pamukkale, which in Turkish means “Cotton Castle”. Its terraces with blue thermal waters give all the charm to the beauty of this place. It is a unique scenario, which makes us think that we are on another planet.
