This has to be the GREATEST slow jam of all-time. Ultimate perfection, the piano accompaniment, the harmonies, lead vocals, lyrics on point. In my opinion Tender Love defined what a slow jam is.
I’m SO GLAD my youth was filled with this level of sweetness. I remember being courted, summer walks, lol, smelling like “outside”. Street lights, cicadas in the background and being pushed on the swings by my high school sweetheart in the playground at dusk. Whew…. Wow.
I tell you..The lead singer got one of the most beautiful voices that I've ever heard. Wow! Absolutely beautiful. Happy Birthday!!
I’m 71 years old and still listening to their music, it will never get outdated !
May 2024 !
68 here and the 70s & 80s were the best in music.
Sure Ok
I love this music from that era, no aggressive, disrespectful or blatantly foul language.
I'm listening to this song and my eyes are filled with tears, this was my one of my sister's favorite songs, sadly she passed on 27.8.2021, may she R.I.P.

That piano though, I don’t know who wrote the music for this, but it’s one of the best compositions I ever heard. It penetrates you and takes you for an amazing little ride.
It was written by two guys from Detroit.
The amazing duo of Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis wrote this masterpiece. Jimmy Jam is playing the keys on this.

Jesus Christ gives tender love 💕❤😊💝🥰🌹✝️💐
Pure magic ❤
First time I listened to this, I started bawling my eyes out because the vocals and harmony are so beautiful. This is truly what a love song should feel and sound like.
What happened to music like this? About love? Something beautiful, no violence!!!! People please can you play music like this for your kids, 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
REAL TALK!!!!
WE NEED THE LOVE BACK!!!🙏🙏🙏🤎🤎🤎
The 80's made some real good music
Criticize by Alexander O'Neal is the same style as this, the Jam and Lewis sound.
Born in 71. 80's were more MAGICAL than RUclips could ever show.
Word up
Oh my God it hurts my heart so bad to know that the lead singer of this group is gone...And has been gone since the mid to late 90s...He is soo adorable and his voice...I believe his voice is in the top 5 of the greatest falsetto voices to ever sing a song...We miss you and love you TC..As well as Nelson...You both are gone but never ever will you be forgotten.. Sleep in heavenly peace
Amen
Amen. He will never be forgotten.
was just 18 back then. a lot of memories, simple carefree with mom and dad beside me, now at 56.. all alone.
I know exactly what you mean loss my dad November 19th 2023 he was all I had 😢😢😢😢
I thought I was by myself I understand now that there are many who fill the same way.
Thanks Force MD's. I don't think y'all will ever understand how meaningful this song is even now in 2022!
Maybe even more so now…
2023❤❤❤❤❤
This song is so meaningful that's right
True dat sister
I remember when this song came out ( I think it was 1985) and it still gives me goosebumps. I am child of the 70's and the 80's we had the best music. The work of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
How old were you
@@joejones8454 my guess is early 50's late 40's I know I was 8 or 9 when this cane out I remember watching video music box in NYC Ralph McDaniels
SUMMER 1986
I remember my first time hearing it I was about three or four years old. My mom and dad used to play it a lot and they were the ones that got me turned on to those type of music I love it I was born in '82 and I still remember a lot of the hits from the '80s and these guys here were legendary.
Classic Rock white guy here. This tune hooked me from the moment I heard it. I know a few of these dudes have passed over the years but Force Mds will live on forever!
This is what you call good music....and HARMONY !!!
They did this perfectly

Heading into 2023 and this masterpiece of a song is still one of my favorite, daily jams. This song will forever live on, generation after generation ❤️
One of those songs you hear playing at low volume in the middle of the night that soothes the soul and makes you happy to be alive as you softly fall back to sleep next to the one you love. You been there?
I’m still there. 11 years later. No matter the ups and down, we never go to bed mad and keep God first. Always 💕

The beauty of those voices and that piano makes me cry every time. This song is just soooooo wonderful
Angels singing.
Same. It goes directly to the feels.
Me too
All 5 of them are beautiful especially Trisco and Jesse
Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis once again cultivating the RnB sound that was the foundation of the 80s.
2019 & still listening.
Me too.

Yesss! Real music will never die💖
Always and forever ❤️🧡
YES SIR
His voice was so beautiful so sad he got ALS and passed at 34, so young. I would've loved to hear more from him.
That just ruins my day, I didn’t know that ;(
Awwww i did not know that. How tragic
Rip sad to hear that he died 😢💔
Oh my God, I had no idea that he passed! Shit hearing that kinda ruined my day, so sad! RIP ♥️
That's a bummer! I always thought God took the good ones young. His way of taking us out of our misery!🙏😀

I met these when I wS young and they did they new what they had but as we know success and egos get in the way. What voices they had.
Sorry guys the 80's was hard! I was there.

One of the most distinctive songs ever
Truly that.
🌛★ Stella ★🌜 it really is! I was shazaming some songs and this one popped up. So I decided to listen to it and I recognized the melody right of the bat, but never listened to the entire song. And I’m 21 so that says a lot 😂
That piano...those voices. Damn,..got me emotional. Almost 53 now and this is an anthem!
I’m 39 and remember & love this song. Still one of my favs , just beautiful. RIP to all the group members no longer here, they all left the world too soon. Stevie D is the only OG member left 🫶🏼
That's awfully sad just 38 years later that almost all of those guys are now gone.
This new generation music has nothing on this. You and your spouse can have a huge fight, you pop this on with some flowers y'all back together like glue no questions.
ITS DEFINITELY A SONG YOU HAVE HAVE AND GET TO GROW INTO NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND :)
FACTS
A baby might follow too.
l thought I was the only person who felt this song the way its sung but reading other posts its amazing how this song means so much to song lovers all over the world. A truly amazing heartfelt song that brings a tear to my eye too.
Brings back fond memories, huh? Similar aged group( Gen X I presume) and all these comments from similar aged people....and memories of prom night etc...and this song
This has to be the GREATEST slow jam of all-time. Ultimate perfection, the piano accompaniment, the harmonies, lead vocals, lyrics on point. In my opinion Tender Love defined what a slow jam is.
Agreed
DEFINITELY !!!
This era had the greatest slow jams
I’m SO GLAD my youth was filled with this level of sweetness. I remember being courted, summer walks, lol, smelling like “outside”. Street lights, cicadas in the background and being pushed on the swings by my high school sweetheart in the playground at dusk. Whew…. Wow.
Melody, hook, vocals, harmonies...perfection.
Plus they can move.

I tell you..The lead singer got one of the most beautiful voices that I've ever heard. Wow!
Absolutely beautiful.
My brother , back in the day , he and his friends would do this , they sung the slow jams on street corners and this reminds me of them..
Music for the soul.
Soo relaxing and soothing. ❤
What happened to this Era of music?
Extinct. Never to return.
Great question. I want to go to wherever it is though.
Record companies killed it.

Im a 39 year old South African and it's my first time hearing this GEM 💎 of a song..i swear i do not live under a rock..
Jimmy "Jam" Harris and Terry Lewis are two of my favorite composer/producers of all time.
You have a beautiful soul if your still listening to this kind of music.. ❤❤❤
The song is so mild and lovely
If angels really sing, this song is what I think they'd sound like. Everything about this song is just about perfect - the orchestration, the lyrics and the harmonies. Stunning.
Enjoyed this era. Now we are living in the last days.
This is one of those songs that is absolutely perfect and will forever stand the test of time...
