  • The new 121ci VVT M8 Engine is fast proving to be the next level in performance for Harley-Davidson. Matt & I discuss some of the findings we have come across so far in there early days of the engines introduction.
Since the recording of this, there is no 15% adjustment to the SE Pro Street Tuner which I am very excited about.
I have already fitted the SE Pro Street tuner the VVT Engine & came up with some great results.
The Oil pump HOUSING in the 121ci VVT M8 engine IS DIFFERENT to the Oil & Water Cooled models. The Part number is 62400242
The scavenge Gerotor is the same 8 Lobe as found in all 2020 Up Oil & Water cooled models part number 62400233
The Feed Gerotor is the same as found in the water cooled M8 models. Part number 6240055
There is obviously a change to the housing which is why the part number has changed.
If I have missed a link from the video here in the description, please let me know in the comments & I will get it sorted.
    Thanks for watching.

Are you talking about a video that shows & explains what tools we use as professional Harley techs?

Vvt on a single cam is basically moving the intake centerline either direction. Advancing it pumps up the the bottom end torque and makes it more responsive, retarding it helps it rev out and moves the powerband up. Best of both worlds

Can I put a rinehart slimline duals from headers back with 4.5 muffler with dbx baffles along with Harley tuner on my 2022 street glide st and also put in a camshaft to get 2500 to 4500 or so rpm increase in performance without any other upgrades ie oil sump pump, lifters etc? Great info on your site but a bit confusing with so many choices….

Will the post-cat or downstream O2 sensor prevent removing the cat? If the Cat is removed, wouldn’t it have a cat efficiency code?

How long before we get a cam upgrade for the 121 vvt?

I've got no idea. I'd love to think it will be before the end of this year though (2024)

After hearing you talk about the post cat O2 sensor, I went and looked at my 121 VVT exhaust. Mine doesn't have that. I wonder if you have a California CARB bike?

Are you in Australia? The post cat 02 sensor is in the crossover pipe

Great video guys .. question what the use of the SE tuner that only has a base map for a breather and mufflers for 500 US dollars . Harley should just sell a flash at the dealership instead of having us purchase that useless tuner .

Will there be a stage 2 cam kit for the 121 vvt?

Do you think HD will go to a 121CI motor on 2025 LowRiders? Not the whole water cooled / VVT set up but maybe just the current motor with the 4-5/8” stroke. Seems like they are due for a displacement bump.

I've got no idea mate. I would imagine something like that will be on the cards in the near future.

Its likely a se 517 cam. due to epa it is probably close to aftermarket 468 cam

    • @MasterTechMiller

Unplug the rear wheel ABS sensor. You will have no speedo on the dash when you do it & your ABS will NOT work.

Lock out the VVT? @TheDynoGuy clearly doesn't understand how engines work or the value of valve timing in general.
