The mobile Out There came out almost 10 years ago and its still one of the best mobile game there is. I'm so glad and hyped about playing an improved PC version :D
I appreciate that you're playing games further in; a lot of the time a game doesn't really shine/fail until you get past the tutorial parts, so it's good to see later gameplay.
Oh man, this takes me back to when the App Store wasn’t just free to play shovelware. Out there was such an interesting game at that time. I’ve long since given up on mobile gaming, but I’m glad this dev is still making games,
4:15 - This game is actually a sequel to a game that pre-dated No Man's Sky by quite a bit. The original mobile game came out a few months before the infamous E3 2014 No Man's Sky demo.
Ah cool, I was wondering whether this was a sequel to that game. I have considered getting the original before on mobile before but havent yet. I wonder if this is coming to mobile.
@@thelaughingman4791 I'd be surprised if he remembers all those details for every game he's reviewed, dude must have played 30 minutes of thousands of games by this point
this was one of my most anticipated games of the year and seeing it get pushed back over and over again was really killing me. glad it's finally coming out forreal tomorrow.
As someone who can rarely catch the stream, i really would love to see at least one more video of this game just because its so entrataining to watch Splatty playing it.
hey, buddy. what's up? i have been following you for a month or so and I fell in love with your indie content; just like someone else had said, we needed someone as good as you for that, so thanks, you are awesome! im a random Brazilian guy who worked for years with languages and I have noticed how hard it is for games to provide Portuguese audio or simply subtitles. That's why I thought of giving these small guys a help. I mean, I have never done that before, but with my work background I can assure I'd do a good job and help them get a wider audience. Brazil has over 80 million gamers, and one of the biggest complaints they have here is that games are always in English. Considering that less than 5% of the population speaks it fluently, having at least a Portuguese subtitle would make it much more appealing. NOW, if you have any contacts with game developers who would benefit from that, tell them about me. I'm willing to do it for free as I want to gain experience with that first, so if you could help me help them, that would be awesome.
I was the only person to beat there demo at an expo they were at, due to my love of the mobile game previous. They gave me one of their branded jumpers as a gift and were very happy with my feedback. Top people.
The idea of repairing damage is cool because it soft gates the player. Giving them something to think about with do they take on a new ship or pass due to the lack of res you have to fix the ship. Balancing time and effort into it rather then click click, done. So I get why that loop is really good to have. How ever I also like the idea of towing in games like this. Being able to still keep your old ship and either dock it for later use or to sell it.
Imagine having your probe scoop out a tiny bit of a gas giant and being like, "Welp, that's all we can get from this body comprised of 99% of this material, best be on our way!"
@@MisterZimbabwe They certainly do, it's just that being able to extract near-infinite amounts of resources from a single location would be extremely broken gameplay-wise. Often, decisions in game design have to be based on what's best for the gameplay, even if they make no logical sense.
Elite Dangerous allows you to scoop infinite fuel from certain stars (of which there are a lot) and yet the fuel rats are still a necessity for some pilots. It's definitely balanceable.
@@TresTrefusis Fuel rats are more a solution to the problem of ED requiring new players to learn the hard way rather then a function of fuel availability. New player severely underestimate just how vast the games world really is and how much fuel efficiency in that game sucks.
I'm glad they removed the timer or oxygen limit or what it was in the last alpha for away missons. Aside from those away missions and some crew management, the rest seems to be pretty much like it was in the predecessor, including finding new ships and kinda repair them. So that feature was in the game way before No Man's Sky existed. Btw. the telescope was usually among the first things I dismantled to get more space in the beginning. ;-) Using the ships you find simply as storage location has also been proven to be a good strategy. Also if I remember correctly the Death Ray was only kind of a quest item to get to a specific ending, like the counter part of another item called Life Seed or so. I hope there are new endings now too. I've got Out There Oceans of Time 2 on my wish list for years now, chances are pretty high, that I'll get it soon.
Try copying your save, Splat! Most games that *would* save account stuff like "should you skip tutorial if you've already done it" save it in another config file anyway, possibly an .ini. That said, this is probably not one of them anyway.
It literally has the icons at the bottom of the screen showing that you now get information about a system when you look at it out to the BLUE circle...and your JUMP is the tan circle. lol
It's pretty rare that games don't have multiple save slots these days, but if you want to access a game's saves if they're not in the game install directory they'll always be either in your Windows .../documents/[publisher or game]/ folder or under one of the hidden c:\Users\[username]\AppData\ subfolders (usually \local\ ). It's often as simple as just making a copy of the save folder, which can also be used to manually save a game with only autosave.
I had this playing in the background so I wasn't playing 100% attention. Why did he swap ships at the end instead of just taking the modules he wanted? The new ship appeared to have damaged areas that I assume he will need to fix to use again.
This seems interesting. The only misgiving I have is personal, as the Oceans of Time made me think this was connected with the Chronicles of Solace trilogy, their names being Depths of Time, Ocean of Years and Shores of Tomorrow.
Rule when traveling in space, ...dont get involved with other peoples disputes. Lol This looks like a cool interesting game. It doesnt have as much of showing representations of the little crew doing the tasks in the ship, i.e. like working on fixing stuff or running the equipment, which would be kinda neat, but it is still cool.

I love Out There Omega on Android. It lives among the best mobile games and one I recommend to everyone who likes the rogue-lite games! I've been looking forward to this one.
I loved the mobile game. Spent all my schoolbus rides playing it and it really sucked me in like no other game. Wondering if this one can do the same, it looks like it might be able to. Protip: When you come across a ship you don't want, disassemble all the modules inside it to harvest the resources ;)
So basically, it's Out There updated with a graphical overhaul. Seems cool. Regarding the galactic sight seeing comment... I mean... If I had a spaceship that was FTL capable, you damn well bet you that aside from opting for a procedure to be a ship mind (circa the novel To Sleep in a Sea of Stars), I'd be flying that ship around the galaxy for just that.. sight seeing. Maybe that helps others to colonize and establish civilizations on other worlds maybe not, I'd be more invested in the discovery aspect of things than anything else.
That's illogical Mr. Spock! Ship tiny, gas giant huge. How do you get less gaseous materials from a gas giant with following scoops? Like your ship could take in so much that it would significantly reduce the material available.
splat, this game looks okay, nothing to write home about. Me finally an amazing looking game, if it was coarse and pixelated splat would have been WOW AMAZING, the pixelart is so good!!!
15:27 it looks like you're safe to board the ship despite it being on top of spikes. I wonder if you can call ship like this but then instead of boarding it, just run past to avoid the hazard damage? Would be an interesting mechanic
brought this prior to your vid.. sadly i've found it lacking.. I really hope the devs do add more content and stuff in it (not watched your review yet) / my verdict is a 3/10 with the potential of being a 7/10 with a little more love.
Well, this is a lot more interesting to me since they removed the time limit on away missions. I'm a big fan of exploring planets, and I'm not wild about anything which limits that. I'm not entirely sure this one is for me, but that's definitely an improvement.

There's something incredibly satisfying with the inventory management. In fact I find the entire atmosphere of the game pretty enchanting.
