Awesome job❤❤❤ The cut outs were perfection! And I loved all the natural sounds! The sand being leveled, tapping of the pavers! It was all very much relaxing!
Thank you Cassandra I really appreciate your kind words. I never expected people to find this video so relaxing to watch. Everyone’s comment are awesome. 👍🙂
You do amazing work! Thank you for this video! I have a love-hate relationship with pavers. Weeds grow through the cracks and when some areas sink into the ground it's a pain in the neck to lift and reset them. That's why I mix cement into my sand base, then I use a mix of lime and Portland to make a sticky paste for between the pavers and mortar base. Cheers 🥂
Thank you, I laid the raised brick edging about 15 years ago as a border to the garden and a then gravel path. I liked them so decided to keep them. Very pleased you liked it. 🙂👍
Thanks I’m very pleased you enjoyed it. The boarder bricks (used to be a gravel path) have been there for 20 years or so and they go with the house. So I don’t have any plan to change them, just repair whenever needed. 🙂👍
Thanks, yeah I haven’t arthritis and it can’t be very nice but I have bad right knee (old injury) I have about 150 m of drive to lay next and my knees are not looking forward to it. 😁👍
Thanks that’s appreciated, I was chuffed as it’s the first time doing any block paving. Just checked your channel you have completed some nice projects. I’m going to have good look at them as I have a driveway to lay next, over 150 m, so I will appreciate some tips from your videos. 🙂👍
Looks good but why no cement, dry or wet, underneath on the main path? Plus using dry kiled sand will not stop weeds growing in between. Either a dry 5-1 sand-cement mix or even better, sand and lime mix. Weeds dont like lime.
Hi, there is no need for any cement underneath, a captive sand base is very solid. You are correct it won’t stop weeds and a great idea using lime mix, although I do want to be able to easily lift any blocks if the need arises. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed it. 🙂👍
Thank you. The base is a coarse grit sand known as sharp sand and it doesn’t have any cement. It is just sand compacted and give an excellent solid base so long as the main area is contained around the perimeter with cemented edging. 🙂👍
Thank you Francis, I did consider changing them but they do match a lot more on the property, and it would have been much more work. 😁 Really pleased you liked it. 👍🙂
Hi, thanks for your comment. No they don’t need anything to make them stick, they are so snugly fitted together they won’t move if installed correctly. Hope you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching. 👍🙂
Hi, well if you have a curved walkway you really need to cement in an edging then lay all your blocks in the centre of the path as near to the edging as they will go. You will the have to cut all the remaining blocks to match up to the edging. There should be plenty of videos on RUclips showing the process. I hope this helps. 🙂👍
Yeah I’m sure it will end up being a problem. Thing is if I’d put a weed barrier below the blocks weeds will still grow. Might be best with a setting sand between the blocks. Hope you enjoyed watching. 🙂👍
Really you are giving me a thumbs down. Why would you do that, just don’t give me a thumbs up. It’s not as if I’ve done something bad or nasty. I agree a weed barrier may be a good thing although it’s normally done like that. Another idea may be to use a solid setting mix brushed between the pavers, although this can make them harder to remove if you have to do some repair. Anyway I hope you enjoyed watching it otherwise. 🙂
I love how meticulous you are! The mark of a good craftsman.
Thank you James, I appreciate your comment. I have always been a bit “OCD” and do believe if a jobs worth doing 😁
Beautifully done! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much. 🙂👍

@@revivalworkshop :) You are hired!
Great job very nice! Also that you cut stones and cement around obstacles. I would have just gone to fill with gravel. Respect
Thank you so much. I appreciate it. I did get carried away, but also enjoyed the process. 🙂👍
Really nice job. A lot of stuff to work around. It looks great.
Thank you very much. Yeah it was a bit fiddly 😁 but enjoyable to do. Especially with how it turned. 🙂👍
Lovely job! Great cuts! Love the raised brick edging!

Nice clean watchable video, I dare say you’ll change the boarder bricks at some time
Thanks I’m very pleased you enjoyed it. The boarder bricks (used to be a gravel path) have been there for 20 years or so and they go with the house. So I don’t have any plan to change them, just repair whenever needed. 🙂👍

Excellent job. My knees vote for gravel now, arthritis is a bugger.

@@revivalworkshop I see you have knee pads, best investment for later life.
Absolutely. When I started as an apprentice truck mechanic I don’t think knee pads even existed 😂
Awesome work!

What is the sandy bed material? Does it have any cement in it? Cheers. Great job.

V good job, may be should have changed the path edging bricks too 😊
Thank you Francis, I did consider changing them but they do match a lot more on the property, and it would have been much more work. 😁

do you not spray anything on the bricks once you filter the sand in-between them at the end to make them stick?
Hi, thanks for your comment. No they don’t need anything to make them stick, they are so snugly fitted together they won’t move if installed correctly. Hope you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching. 👍🙂
Magnifique tranquille et bravo pour les découpes en arrondi 💪👍👏👏
Thank you 👍🙂
what hammer was that? Doesn't seems to be a soft face plastic one. Nice job though
Thank you. No it’s not a plastic hammer, just a regular engineering one. These particular blocks are very hard and at zero risk of breaking. 🙂👍
😊
Thank you Tracy. 👍🙂
It’s just a block paved alley I fell asleep watching this video
It must be a very relaxing watch 😁 hope you enjoyed it up to the point you fell asleep 🙂👍
It’s really interesting to see. Good to see how an expert does it. Thank you.😊
How do you measure if there are curves in the walkway?

You will the have to cut all the remaining blocks to match up to the edging. There should be plenty of videos on RUclips showing the process. I hope this helps. 🙂👍

Anyone know what these blocks are called? Thanks
I bought these second hand, but I believe they are Marshall’s Tegula block pavers. Not sure of the colour though. Hope that helps. 🙂👍

NO WEED BARRIER / LANDSCAPE FABRIC... THEIR WILL BE WEEDS GROWING IN-BETWEEN THE PAVERS
I’ve replied to your second comment.
