I might not care too much for her personally , I’m entitled to that , but I think that’s courage .....I was sexually abused as a child . Not from a camp setting , but from someone who was suppose to love and protect me . Children need to be protected. The only way things like this are going to be exposed . Between '80 and '82 I spent 15 months in Straight Inc. It's 40 years and I still have vivid nightmares. Later when I went into the Air Force I found out that I had almost all my ribs broken. I knew I had 3 broken but was surprised to find out it was 8 ribs broken. I never really went without pain in my ribs the whole 15 months. I could go on about it but you get the picture. When Nancy Reagan visited I was held in a timeout room because I had my nose broken. I was 15. My mother thought I was on hard drugs because I listened to the Grateful Dead. Sad stuff.

Cost is about $60K per child and if you break down the economics the lesser portion goes to the child. Multiplied by the number of kids in the custody of 50 states and that is whopping amount of the GNP that is spent on this tragedy. Be cheaper on us to give every family $5 grand worth of free therapy.

I am a 60 year old female and my family turned on me and had me committed to a mental health facility by signing 2 forms. All in an attempt to destroy me. I was force drugged and abussd. I spent 2 months there and there was nothing wrong with me after my insurance capped out. They released me. That was 2 years ago. Horrible tragedy that gave me ptsd. Bad bad deal. The system is broke. It is the same for children also. There were young children in a special unit there also. It is horrific being in a place like that.

It happens at shelters. Workers are more on top of keeping stays short term as possible and paying administration than being open for the reason they exist. They force people into legal decisions that may not be best for them. They are not open to all types of need.

Mini no this is been going on for decades when we go back and we look at some of the group home some of the adoption homes ran by religious institutions we found rampant abuse physical mental abuse yes of course sexual as well but abuse. Yep I have seen it, and I can totally understand her parents’ desperation at one point. Her case was really concerning, mum and dad did what they knew. People need to stop judging and just let them all heal.
This is a extremely important subject, but I wish it was coming from anyone but her.
Her parents are wealthy, they sent her to that institution because she was going off the rails and needed help setting her straight. The school was paid handsomely for their services.
That doesn’t mean she deserves to be abused that way. Her parents had no idea that was happening to her.

@@deltabourke1005 "No idea" is a stretch. They may not have known all of the exact details but they should have been able to discern that since their child was kidnapped and manhandled in front of their own faces that things could get pretty sketchy at the school.
@@marissar.359 she made a documentary last year I think, and they document her telling her mom and I really believe it was genuine. I do not believe Kathy Hilton would let anyone abuse her daughter (or any child) that way. Her parents knew she was at the school but that’s about it. Also, her parents knowledge doesn’t take away from her abuse or the legality of the school.

This happens to a lot of rich kids because their parents feel this is best when they’re out of control, Kathy said the place reputation was prestigious and the best of the best which is why she contacted them, and she never told her parents until recently because she said she never thought her parents would even believe her, and you can’t tell someone when they have to speak out it’s not easy no matter how much money you have especially when your a kid because most parents dont believe kids when they says stuff like this which is sad, can we just focus on how positive this whole movement has become, empowering others girls and boys to speak up about the abuse they suffered and finally getting laws changed and bills signed
