Excellent analysis with very insightful commentary. I was troubled by the book's ending which was well illustrated in the video. But I could never quite understand 𝙬𝙝𝙮 the child went through that unhappy fate. The consensus is that the ending was purposely ambiguous. Thus, the reader is to determine for him/herself as to why. If anything this makes the book more haunting.
