Hi and welcome to the game. You would also need sidekick dice, basic action dice (and color indicators), dice bags, and some kind of playmats. You can print paper playmats for free from Wizkids' website: wizkids.com/dicemasters/products/ (take your pick; there are several sets that say, "Click here for play mat"). As for the other things you'll need, if you can get your hands on a starter set or a campaign box, you will have all that you need to play. Alternatively, if you find a local group that has experienced players, I'm sure you'll find someone more than willing to share some sidekicks, basic action dice, and maybe even some spare commons and uncommons to get you started. Look for the group Dice Masters: Unlimited on Facebook, and hopefully we can connect you with local players, or even to a local group in your area.
If you're new, I'd say to start of with just getting a starter pack or 2 as it comes with pretty much everything you need to get started. Or one of the campaign boxes. I don't think I'd start off with draft packs but that's just my opinion!
Sigh... I thought they'd stopped random packs. I was enjoying being able to just buy the boxed sets and be done with it. At least this gives them the freedom to include more than just the popular characters in sets...
It's because there was a lot of backlash from fans online who wanted the draft packs back. I'm also team campaign box, but honestly they did the campaign boxes wrong by not giving us a full playset.

They did a bunch of LCG sets since 2018. This is the first ccg set in almost 3 years. Look here at any products called a "Campaign Box" or "Team Pack" if you're interested: wizkids.com/dicemasters/products/
Bryle I’ve had a couple of sets for years. Literally no one plays it anymore. I like a lot of others apparently, thought it was meh as well, or they would still be playing it.

Like I said, there is still a competitive scene for the game so "literally no one plays it anymore" is simply a false statement. That's an interesting interpretation of the popularity of dice masters. Sure, it's not Magic the Gathering, but how many games are? Clearly it's been liked enough to continue for 6+ years.

So they finally made a nerfed version of Storm (though they changed it to Carol).

All of the Black Order cards combine to make a panoramic scene. I think its the Alt covers of Infinity series in comics.

Give the game a shot. I guarantee you wouldn't have that opinion if you knew more about the game and it's competitive scene.
