Yes, the fires are way too common. My wife and myself had been exploring the North Fork of John day river and shortly after I launched one of my RUclips videos of our adventure it all caught on fire. I’m glad we had an opportunity to experience it before hand. It’s definitely a tragedy. Some of these areas it just goes to show. You don’t wait. Go experience it because it may not be there tomorrow.
Great video. Great fun hitting the trail and seeing fabulous scenery. I will be up that way soon. I won't see all of that on this trip but we take it one day at a time. I, too, think it is fun traveling with friends.
Quickly becoming one of my favorite channels. Your videos are getting better and better. Really enjoying them. For this video, you’re basically in my backyard. Glad you got to see and enjoy Oregon. Hope to run into you I f you’re at the expo next year. 👍🏻
Wow. Thank you so much. We really love that whole area... You are incredibly lucky to have that so close. I'll be sure to mention if we are heading that way again so we can try to meet up. Honestly we can't wait to go back. We are already talking about expo PNW for next year.
Thank you! I really appreciate it. I am due for a new walk around video to update viewers on the rig, and I'll probably get to filming it in the coming weeks. You can check out the JL Rubicon Build video I posted back in February here: ruclips.net/video/rpvV80MwL5E/видео.html And there is an Interior Mods video I poster here: ruclips.net/video/O9OewFP1WOY/видео.html
@@GoldensGoneWheelin thanks man! I will definitely do that. I have a Jeep and looking to get ideas for a clean and organized set up. Also mods that have work for other people when it comes to reliability and ease of use. I appreciate you brotha!
You are a lucky man Mike! I ended up with more footage than I could squeeze into a video, but at the same time we didnt capture everything we wanted to. I need to get back up there.
WOW!!! The Cascades are amazing 👍. Thanks so much for sharing. You two and the pups HAVE to hit us up somehow whenever you're in SoCal to do some wheelin'. We aren't set up for overnighters just yet but we are definitely down for meeting up somewhere for the day and getting off road if you'd be interested? We've enjoyed all your vids and love the content...... and keep em' coming 👍. Maybe do some Anza Borrego? Big Bear? Joshua Tree? Stay safe and have fun!! Jim & Michele
My pleasure to share the experience with you guys. We would love to meet up for some wheeling next time we are down in SoCal. We love Anza Borego, but we havent spent much time at Big Bear or Joshua Tree. You guys would have to show us around. Reach out to our email anytime so we can get in touch goldensgonewheelin@gmail.com.
Pin stripes on an earl grey jeep hurts my soul and then I saw the solar octane Tacoma and felt really bad, Those pinstripes will pop out so bad on that orange! Great video as always!
I believe you are correct, from what we read or saw we were still permitted to have a campfire. It is definitely something taken very seriously all times of year as there is no room for error. Fire safety is always a good reminder though. 😀
I was thinking....., how cool to meet people at Expo and head off on an adventure. I'd like that myself. But then my concerns of doing that were a realization when I saw them sitting around an open wood fire on a very windy evening. What would I say if I was in that situation? Because that's such a huge no no. Wildfires started in Oregon about 3 weeks after this. This is why going off with someone you are not familiar with is a real uncomfortable thought for myself.
@@DefiantOffroad yeah I use that alot, but it doesn't allow the drone to fly at really low altitudes. I'm still trying different things. I need to get some time with a pro pilot. 😛
Love watching my backyard is such epic views. Never gets old waking up everyday to these views
It really is amazing up there.. we love exploring it.
Great video.
Thank you! It was a great trip, glad you enjoyed the video.
Dang, this was so good I just had to subscribe:)
Thanks! I really appreciate that!
WOW!!! Such a great video! Ivvy and I really enjoyed it. Amazing drone footage and great editing. Can’t wait to see the rest of the series.
Thanks buddy!!! We need to get out there and have some fun. Wish you and Ivvy could have been there too.

Agreed. Gotta get out there and see it.
Again, great cinematography- great views and lighting. What a beautiful place! Keep it up, we thoroughly enjoyed this vid. 😊
Thanks! I had a lot of fun with that one and really got lucky with the timing, weather and lighting. I learned a lot.

6min in was that little cache mt? You guys went too. Love it up there.
Honestly I'm not sure. That section is not too far south west of Garaegle. Not familiar with little cache mt.

Great video! Could you tell me what the surf song was when you got to black sand. I am hoping you use Epidemic as I do.
That is Taxi Full of Tarantulas by Ikoliks.... I actually use Artlist for most of my tracks... I haven't tried Epidemic.
You aren’t supposed to have fires going in the backcountry there this time of year. Fire risk is no joke. Otherwise great video!
Thank you for the feedback! You're absolutely right about the fire risks, and we appreciate the reminder. Glad you enjoyed the rest of the video!
When this was shot im guessing fires werent closed. They were just last week closed

Backcountry fire ban went into effect there on July 1st

How close to hoodoo is the black sand? That spot is awesome.
To be honest I'm not sure of the distance, but they are not far apart. The dunes are off of Santiam Hwy.
10 miles
❤. You going overland expo west?
You must be referring to mountain West in Colorado?? We would love to go, but that might be a tough one to fit in the schedule this year.
What drone are you using? Great video
Thanks! It's just the Mavic 3 Classic.
@@GoldensGoneWheelin Same one that I use!
@@DefiantOffroad I'm still such a rookie pilot. Learning to fly and drive is tough.
I recently discovered the cruise control feature on the M3. It makes it a lot easier to drive and fly!

A snorkel will help you in river crossings, and also in dusty, sandy terrain. That volcanic powder is nasty!
That did come up in discussion... so maybe a future mod. And yes, that dust is nasty!!
20:28 Oregon local here - can you share the name of that CG?
Southern tip of Cougar Reservoir. I can't remember the name though.
@@GoldensGoneWheelin thanks!!
Just so everyone knows. This place sucks, and we don't have any room.
