    In the US in the 90s TV airing, they changed the gender of androgynous female antagonists in the dub to have male voices so they wouldn’t seem like lesbians when they were flirty with other female characters.

    • @kellyjohana516
      @kellyjohana516 Месяц назад +324

      Mexican dub kept everything with no censorship but somehow the two villains who were androgynous-like (Zoicite and Fish Eye) had women voicing them and used women pronouns. With Zoicite, they could fool everyone. But Fish Eye had that whole strip scene and when I watched that I was like: "That ain't a flat chested girl, that's clearly a MAN!" and after that episode I noticed Fish wye was always referred to as a "he" so I got confused into why making a woman voice him with a clearly femenine voice, not raspy, not "gay" sounding.

      The Germans made it PERFECT. Not only were the voices "androgyn" - meaning, you couldn't tell if they were male or female, they kept teasing in both directions (they literally went and found 3 Speakers that had the PERFECT voice for the 3). I disagree. The outfit concept is NOT for idealism for young girls and women.
      Their original attire is really trashy, so I respectfully understand it.
      Ironically Asian women are amazing dressers and don't normal dress like a prostitute. Revealing your cleavage is looked down.
      Anime is just ridiculously perverse even when it comes to girl and woman viewpoint. Very controversial and then from my own perspective.
      I absolutely love Asian clothes style, esp. street style.
      The way they generally dress even their street style is a far cry vs. how they dress here in the US.
      I enjoy watching a lot of videos on their culture and opinions in Japan in order to understand the general people.
      The otaku world is just damn twisted and questionable.
      I'm glad there is being a discussion in Japan on how anime projects a lot of issues-nothing new. I loved the 80s and 90s anime as a kid.

    В России небыло изменений. Так что мы смотрели с замиранием сердца когда герои перевоплощались. Мне было лет 6-7 когда стали появляться первые серии на тв. И нас совершенно не смущало, что парни становятся девушками. В уме придумывали сами, что в жизни они парни, а когда превращаются, то становятся девушками воительницами. Жизнь это одно, а геройство это другое. И каждая девочка во дворе мечтала об Сею. Или стать такой-же стильной и крутой как сейлор Уран (Харука Тэнно).

They've stayed like that for hundreds of years and she just never 'grows up' because it's the family traits/perks/aftereffects of staying forever young. Not that she didn't want to grow up, nobody just knows how to help her (and the enemies use that weakness to their advantage and turn her against her own parents for that; that arc was diabolical).

It's sad that we live in a world where things like this are frowned upon for no reason. I think these characters were cool ASF and deserve to be apart of sailor moon.
