This is a truly great video and thanks for everything - I am a Geotechnical Consulting Engineer with 4 yrs experience
CE student here. My assigned soils textbook explains none of this, nor does my foundations textbook. Well done and thank you also for not wasting our time by having your diagrams pre-made.
I learned and understood more in that 6 minutes than I did in 2 semesters worth of overpriced college BS.

Maaaan, If you star your video with a jose gonzales song, I am instantly a fan
i was searching for a video about mohr columnb failure for soils but i continued to watch this video cos it's just so well presented, thank you
Excellent explanation! Thank you for the nice illustration!
In other words, thank you for doing a concise video.
This was so good, I had to slow down to 0.8 speed to absorb everything. Thank you!
Thank you sooo much..great video for beginners like me
Concise and informative!
Thanks for the explanation.

Thank you soooo much. Respect ✊
if someone is interested in the bg music, it's Jose - Heartbeats
Great explanation of vital but usually impenetrable subject matter.. I like the music by the way, it provides rhythm and tempo to the presentation. Please leave it in.
you explained it pretty well sir. I don't understand why no book uses simple ways to make us understand. I guess they all are published for Doctorate degrees!
enjoyed the music
Thank s a lot
thank you sir it's really helpful

good video
Great
thanks sir.. for explaining soil strength

Awsome explanation 🤟👌
👍👍
thank you sir, but i'm unable to understand that while conducting undrainrd tes,t how does soil shear, as to find out failure stress we increase deviator stress and as their is no drainage the whole increased stress to be beard by water as per spring analogy so how does soil take load . i'm specific about test in labrotary not on field as there will be drainage gradually in clay soil.
This is an excellent representation (Y) Kindly remove background music for future videos.

For the undrained case, shouldnt the vertical effective stress remain constant as the increase in vertical total stress is transfered to increase in pore water pressure, at least in 5he short term before consolidation occurs.
Therefore the horizontal effective stresss should remain constant as well according to the k_0 equation.
In undrained loading, isnt the shear strength of the material is determined by S_u instead which is a horizontal line in the total stress versus shear stress space

Hi, I have a similar problem but I am moving away a structure below watersurface. This causes a pore pressure as well. Can anybody help me finding the drainage time certain soils need? Thanks
Thumbs down ? It amazes me of morons living among us . Btw , thanks for the most concise explanation
Just don't add any background music.
The explanation was good though. 🙏
The music is louder than the audio. Hard to hear. turn the music down .
👍👍👍
please remove background music

background music 👎👎👎👎
Excellent Video...I subscribed...And please please remove that music in the background. It's not a "How to bake a cake?" video. This is important stuff.
👍👍👍📖📖
