Just hit 398 this morning, down 160+ lbs from a high of 565! I started my journey January of last year, it’s insane how much more I love life. I really relate when you say that you were eating yourself to death at your heaviest, I was the exact same way. I’m so grateful I saved my own life 🙌🏼 great job boogie! Been following for a while and love your videos!

I worked at target throwing truck 2 years ago, I'm 6' and was 220 pounds. A 150lb tv stand fell off a pallet and took me in the side of the knee. 6 months of therapy, after which the doctor told me I was just faking it to try and get Workers Comp. which made me very depressed because i couldn't walk without being in pain and the doctor wouldn't believe i was in grueling pain. It got to the point where I told my wife that i wished it just shattered my knee so i could get a replacement to help make the pain stop. Fast forward 2 years I was almost 300 pounds and can barley walk on my bad knee. Once I helped my wife understand what was going in mentally with me, she helped me get into a better mental state and start exercising again. My mobility is alot better and the pain is very slowly getting better. Thanks to my loving wife or 3 years

To now looking at Boogie in 2018 to see all of those brand new toys, posters, a whole dedicated studio, a beautiful room to the house itself, is truly amazing. It’s a blessing to see that you can come from ABSOLUTELY nothing, to be in the most fortunate if situations you could ever imagine. I’m not trust proud of Boogie psychically, but successfully as well. Much love everyone.

Technically anti biotics are cheating against disease. But no self important dumb shit says "why don't you just fight off that life threatening disease with your immune system and eat some oranges instead of taking the easy way out".
Medical science is and always had been a 'try not to die' cheat. That's the point.

You're doing so great. I'm so happy that you're talking about this. I had the RNY. I lost 246+ lbs in 10 months, way to fast. I went from being a foodie to food being my nemesis. I became balemic and caught myself in transverse behavior. It's been a struggle against myself. I've come to see what I've always believed. There is NO quick fix and a person doesn't become morbidly obese just because they like to eat. You mentioned dealing with the underlined reason why you eat out of emotional distress.
I could talk for hours about this topic. I hope you continue to do great.
Please, continue to cover your journey and shareing your story with us all. Thank you. God Speed 💋

Yes, I would love to see more stuff like this! I go back to your older videos time to time where you would talk about serious issues. (Like your "On..." series of videos.) Not that I don't like your current content (and you still do cover serious topics every so often), I just think there needs to be more dialogue about life and its multitude of difficulties. Hearing you discuss problems really puts them into perspective and helps analyze them. I'm positive they also aid tons and tons of people. Keep doing what you're doing! And more importantly, keep getting healthier and improving! A true inspiration.

Some people instantly think skinny people are fit and healthy which isnt always the case. I'm skinny from getting stabbed years ago so my intestine got punctured but get annoyed how everyone instantly expects me to be fit and healthy when first meeting me. I know alot of larger people who are a trillion times more fit and healthy than myself, so I guess what I'm trying to get at is... Never judge anyone based on their looks as its TRULY deceiving sometimes. Iv noticed a huge change in boogie and his general attitude since undergoing surgery... For the better! He seems so much more positive in his mindset.

    • @vixxcelacea2778
      @vixxcelacea2778 6 лет назад +5

Agreed. Only way you can get a good guess from looks is their condition in say a bathing suit. Then you see the muscles, flab and skin condition (generally healthy people have healthy looking skin.)
No one should really assume anything.
Only safe bet is that if someone actually looks like they are starving, for instance if you can see the bones in the arms and a puffed out stomach from malnutrition or someone who is clearly 400+, you can bet neither person is all that healthy. And even so, saying anything doesn't usually help regardless, because health is too complex to ever only be looks.

Thanks for your concern pal... It GENUINELY means alot to me. I was involved in some seriously bad shit when I was younger and came up too quick so others didn't like it... And unfortunately for me that was the consequences. I say unfortunately but if I hadnt have nearly died then no doubt I wouldn't have had the wake up call to leave that life behind me, ya know pal? I'm 32 now and grew out of that dodgy shit around six years ago but still suffer pain daily from my errors... But deep down I feel as if I deserve it as its one of the "occupational hazards" of doing what I used too, so all I can do now is spend the rest of my life doing right by society in an attempt to try and right my wrongs. Sorry if iv gone on a bit in this response btw but my story is fairly complex.

Eating and being obese is same as alcoholism or drugs or ANY "addiction" are the effect not the cause itself. I claim all those people have issues with society and in their personal life, curing the effect does not remove the cause behind the effect itself. Drug addicts dont stop taking drugs after rehab because when they return to home their life issues are still there usually. People do bad stuff to themselves when their mental well being is damaged for one reason or another.

Boogie, I loved this video. Especially the parts where you focus on the pile of good and bad, and using all the things you want to do as motivation, and striving to improve your physical and mental health instead of being stuck where you are. I have a restrictive eating disorder and to be honest, it surprised me just how much I can relate to the mental side of disordered eating where food intake is too much rather than too little. I was even more surprised when I could relate even to some of the physical aspects you went through, regardless of the different causes. I cannot stand for very long at all, I needed mobility aids around the house and even sitting down in public places became difficult-to-impossible because hardness of chairs or benches was way too painful.
Went off on a bit of a tangent there, but I just wanted to say thank you for making this video, it was incredibly interesting and I admire you even more for striving to be the best you can be and not giving up

I find that fitting into chairs with arms, fitting into cars with the seat belt, and stairs still worry me. But it's all in my head. Even though I always fit now, it's still a thought I have everytime we go out to dinner or have dinner at a friend's, or on an airplane. Or like you said, concerts. Have you looked into some of the clinics that offer sliding scales? I know some places that have $20/session options for people with financial issues. (Most people who really need therapy have 2-4 sessions per month.) Most therapists in general offer sliding scales ($60-$200/session). If you find one that doesn't have one, toss them immediately because they probably aren't that good anyway (as they care more about money).
If you are a student in uni, many offer free or low cost therapy sessions. I first started therapy at uni during grad school.
