Starting at 1:58, she sang the two-octaves higher violin background while playing chords and he sang melody. She is imbued with more musicality than anyone else I can think of, and like a true great, makes it look so easy.

It was only last night that I came across her videos to my great delight. My word! What a uniquely talented singer!!!!! Strangely, the people who are able to pronounce Portuguese perfectly are usually Slavics, not Latin language speakers as odd as it may sound but she does a great job of it with, surprisingly, a nearly imperceptible American accent.
I realize MD is past his prime here (and I did always love him/affable guy)...but, oh, how Catarina casts him in the shade--even though she subdued her talent for him, graciously. Or so it seemed to me. As I look at all the footage of her on line I realize she really had no equal. I'd be interested to know what her favorite duets have been... I'm going to guess Luiz Bonfa is one of them...I certainly feel oafish and colorless watching, listening to them...
