    Thank you for sharing this story. You are very courageous. I have chronic Lyme disease, and I have also used schooling as a way to get stable housing and income many times. I am currently in school to become a mental health therapist and have figured out a way to do nearly all of it from home. I think it's one of the few careers I will be passionate about AND able to do from home at my own pace.

I’m in awe to be honest how you’ve coped despite such adversity without little support it seems. I’m so sorry you have gone through this but my hasn’t it given you survival skills! I bet that this mouldy room affected your conditions in a bad way, aside from being super claustrophobic. I'm glad that there is a silver lining in that situation and you took a leap to go to uni. I'm so happy that you had few good years, were you got to meet friends and get that validation from your grades. Those hours lying down can be very valuable, and I'm at a point where I'm trying to do something with my life from my bed, so thank you for showing me it can be done. I can't really make concrete plans because of my conditions, but I am trying bit by bit to do something I can be proud of.
    Sending you lots of love and best wishes for the future.

    I’m glad it was such a positive experience for you.
    I actually had such a different experience! I was chronically ill before I went to uni but I was still able to function very well really.
    But I caught Freshers Flu in freshers week and then developed full blown ME. Then chronic sleep deprivation from the girls who lived next to me keeping me awake, alongside pressure to party and keep up with studies just pushed me to severe ME in the end and I had to drop out. I had no support at uni off anyone and brain fog meant I couldn’t get any work done.
    I regret going to uni. If I hadn’t gone I may have never developed ME or it may have been mild. But I mean I didn’t know that at the time.
    It’s wild how experiences differ so much.

      Thanks for sharing, I personally don’t think M.E is based on the virus itself that triggers it & believe if it wasn’t that virus, the next one would have triggered it. So I hope maybe that will be a consolation to you 💙 I definitely struggled with being kept up by noisy people & brain fog too, but it was nothing compared to what I faced before & I didn’t really have a choice about going. I’ve always managed to do a lot of work in a short space of time, so that worked in my favour as even though I’d have brain fog most hours, I got a lot done as soon as I had a slightly better 20 minutes, usually every other day 😊

    Thanks for sharing, it was good to hear about your experiences, compared to having gone to uni ‘before’ later getting a chronic illness. I would say, don’t belittle your achievement at getting a 1st - most students get through uni ‘around’ having a good time, so you in no way took an easy route by thinking you ‘just did less work’ - far from it, doing any work at all when you just need to sleep is incredibly difficult. I’m sorry to hear your current chapter is difficult, and if you haven’t talked about that yet, perhaps if it’s something that can be improved, then your viewers have their own experiences to help you.

Unfortunately I don't know if I'll be able to graduate, brain fog and fatigue are making it harder and harder to continue and I think I'm now in my 16th semester or something along those lines and nowhere near done and constantly have to pause. I have tried but I don’t think it’s something that can be taught, I ended up cutting a lot of that clip but originally I explained that I had to use my intuition to do it & the work/methods I used changed everyday depending on the workload. I don’t think someone can get a degree just by following tips about working smart, I think they have to know what counts as working smart for their own situation, & do that 🥲 (learned this the hard way after trying to give tips before & people saying it wouldn’t work for them or what to do if method 1 doesn’t work, for example, they didn’t know what to try next, whereas I used hundreds of different methods & just followed my intuition)

    It’s always amazing and crazy how God takes difficult situations and turns them into blessings. He often puts caring loving people into our lives even if the support is virtual or far off. I often feel very lonely even though I have a loving family. I find so much comfort in the online chronic illness communities, and my church family says they are constantly praying for me and even sending cards (even though I’ve been sick for years). It’s so hard to make friends even for healthy people today, so being bedridden makes it even harder. Obviously you are highly intelligent both academically and common sense/practically.❤ I often think about you when I’m having a difficult time mentally with my depression and think about your resilience and how you are always pushing through even when it feels overwhelming and endless, it gives me hope to keep going and that it’s worth it to live each day even if it’s still difficult it’s worth it because life is a gift even the difficult days.❤

    • @GeorginasJourney
      @GeorginasJourney  4 месяца назад

      I’m so glad you have your faith and your church family, what a huge blessing! & we also have to recognise the blessings we get for ourselves- YOU put in the work into your faith & at least some of those blessings are actually down to you since He blessed us with free will, & same for me going out & getting my own blessings at uni 😊 Ah thank you- I’m not sure anyone has ever said I have common sense or am good at practical things, so that’s really nice to hear that (even though I worry it’s not true). I’m so, so glad you’ve found the strength to keep going, the only way out is through 💙 ‘Out of the night that covers me,
      Black as the pit from pole to pole,
      I thank whatever gods may be
      For my unconquerable soul.’ 💙

      @@GeorginasJourney Yes I’m definitely blessed. I do have to say all the glory goes to God. Of course God gives us free will to make our own life choices like going to university or not, but God predestines His children.
      - 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as He chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love 5 He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will. - Ephesians 1:3-5.
      If I had the choice to follow God or not I wouldn’t because my heart is wicked and sinful.
      -The heart is deceitful above all things,
      and desperately sick;
      who can understand it?- Jeremiah 17:9
      Naturally all people are inclined toward evil.
      -8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. - 1 John 1:8-10.
      So without God changing my heart and giving me faith and a desire to read His Word and go to church when I can, I would never do so. Only because God in His abundant mercy and grace did He save me even though I deserve hell. Without complete trust in Jesus and Him alone there is no eternal life, only hell.
      I just thought I’d share, God tells us we need to spread the Gospel to others so I’m writing this out of love.❤️
      I highly recommend R.C Sproul and Ligonier Ministries if you are interested in Bible teaching sermons and studies.☺️
      You are definitely gifted with high intelligence, it shines through in all of your videos and stories you share.💜
      (All of the Bible verses I used are in English standard version).
