My grandmother used to buy the whole candied fruits when I was little. Back then I didn’t know they were real fruit, I thought they were giant fruit snacks.
That is the best thing ever!!!
@Tony Marselle it's a reason they're called candied fruit
I mean considering that you were a child and only knew about fruit snacks on packages, you can assume anything that is similar to a fruit snack just another fruit snack
Amtra1778 yeah ok lol so fruit snacks and fruit punch are made of actual fruits too right
Same
Everytime the commentator says sugar his mouth is watering.
Looool haven't laughed this hard in awhile
Damn underrated comment lmao
Relatable tho
You can have the rest of my Swedish Fish, I ate too much candy today lmao.
Hahaha....
"Look as good as they taste" it's hard to make something mostly sugar taste bad
Ashley Kassidy sugar + 💩= heaven
Imagine sugar with fish mushroom and bacon... wtf ew. LOL
Oscar The FunnyDoggo candies bacon is a thing
Pootis Man hold up, that stuff is made of sugar?
Tell that to Fondant.
2:30 i literally thought something was going to poor out of that thing and into her eyes
For a second I thought the same thing 😂😂
can't stop laughing at this

I could never be one of these packagers because I’d be caught eating the candies all the time.
Carter Tomlin
I read somewhere that some higher-end confectioners have an “eat all you want” policy.
After a week or so, the “issue” has sorted itself out.
Until u feel ur teeth rotting
I worked in such a place for 3 months. You are allowed to eat as much as you want. After 3 days you will feel like 🤮
I grew up a town over from Hershey PA, where the chocolate plant is, as well as close to the Mars factory. They have bags of imperfect candy for workers to take home, and if you don't get sick of it fast it at the very least loses a lot of the novelty pretty fast.
"Quality check" ;)
THIS IS SO HIGH QUALITY?! I’m used to these videos looking like a trash fire
Rahcle D probably cos the other vids are from the early 00s...they could update the quality somehow tho 🤔
Probably because this is the official science channel and not a bootleg
Rahcle, girl I agree! I literally scrolled through the comments for this very comment! 🤣😂LoL
Because this was made in 2019.
Rahcle d,
Often times when we see lame video quality from these older How-It's-Made shows, its because the video is from someone who recorded it off their tv, and then when they upload it to youtube the video quality gets downgraded even more.
All i can hear is sugar, more sugar and sugar
Dr. Armaan Jain ikr 😅I think I have diabetes from.watching this vid 😅
Foreal just watching this put my pancreas in distress.
Sugar everywhere!
bitterman co "pretty cool and makes them vegan too" What a Fucking tool. Take your triggered ass somewhere else snowflake. 😂😂
That was the statement what i was about to type😂
I love that they don’t really use and waste plastic too much
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Except your candies were manhandled of 4-6 different people 👏👏👏
If How its Made has made me realize one thing, it's that assembly line workers got a tough job that they probably don't get paid enough to do.
Considering how relatively clean everything looks in How It's Made. You'd probably balk at seeing an average factory/assembly line.
It's low-skill and doesn't require an advanced education. Pretty much anyone with nimble fingers can do it.
Especially when the food products pass on a conveyor going 100mph. Like how can you QC when you can't even see the individuals. Lol
Bruh you don't have to even think to work in assembly lines
@@Kanal7Indonesia yes but you have to put in effort
The candy coated fruits look so good! I wish we had these in the states, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen them before this
I think there's a way of making them yourself. I saw a video of a guy who made candied lime peel.
We most definitely have them in the states
Screw that I want to know how they made a whole candied pineapple!
I’m more interested in how they did the pumpkin
@@travisnorton9288 It may look like a pumpkin, but it's actually a type of melon.
The device used to check the sugar concentration is called refractometer
So if it was milk will it be called relactometer?
@@jokrwx3 A lactometer (or galactometer) is a hydrometer used to test milk.
she jams the sugar in her eye and measures the high she gets
Seriously, I love the music in a lot of these videos.
Seeing the guitar in action was ridiculously satisfying. I could watch them cut jelly on it all day
@2:29
Hugbees: Now the worker pours a drop of the boiling syrup into her eyes as a cure for her dry eyes.
Haha thats what I thought too.
"She then pours the hot sample into her eyeball"
"although her eyes are no longer dry, she is now permanantly blind"
@@scotty3739 yes burned eyes and 100% blind

I absolutely love candied, dehydrated fruits and those gelatin fruit slices. They are so good. I had pomegranate ones years ago that I still want to chase down.
Did you find them?
Let us know if you find it
The candy coated fruits look so good! I wish we had these in the states
same bro
This guy’s my fave narrator and The OG How It’s Made guy! Love this show 💗🥽
Some people here are talking about diabetes (I suppose they are mostly from the USA) but let me tell you something about this delicatessen. Here, in France, we ate candied fruits and jellies manly on breakfast or afternoon tea and in very small portions...
It sO fascinating seeing how treats are made.
These treats are delicious.
These look so delicious, I have not been able to stop thinking about these since I first saw this
My niece just sent some of these to me from France. Taste amazing.
Yayyyyyyyy new episode!!! Thank you for continuing my favorite show 😍😍😍
No idea why, but 4:37 reminds me of that one episode of I Love Lucy where Lucy and Ethel worked in that chocolate factory. You know the one. 🤣
Me: imma make me self some candied fruits!!!
Narrator: heat them in syrup for 10 days
Me: nevermind
😂
I’ve been working on a candying method that doesn’t require 10 days lol i just saw this and was like “oh that’s how they look so nice”
0:27 2:00 Wow, the candied whole pineapple is kind of amazing. I love pineapples, so I really want to taste it!
Edd VCR Easy, grab some sugar cubes and eat them. same taste

It's a lot of sugar, but it's flavoured sugar so it's more fun
My grandma always had those. I loved them
i have never had sweets like these but dear god i need to try them asap
That was neat. I'm glad I watched this.
Man I am not used to watching how it's made in 1080p. So nice.
I remembered my grandma used to make them they were the best
I got diabetes from just watching

@BIG DADDY peach I don't know who are you, but THANK YOU, friend.
@@terrimyrick1530 omg thank you someone finally said it, diabetes is not a joke. I mean I'm a type 2 not a type one and I cant even imagine what type one diabetics have to go through.
Terri Myrick yes thank you I have type 2 diabetes and it is not from sugar! And we use insulin too! People need more education on diabetes!
@@terrimyrick1530 it's a joke but I apologise if I caused any offense
Damn that lady really just packaged the candy without gloves 1:38
Shoobert Doobert that 1 was coochie flavored😂
Seems to be the norm on how it's made.
Yeah but I guess all that sugar will coat the finger skin excess 🤷🏽♂️
we exposin 😗✋🏻
@Shoobert Doobert: Don't you see paper wrap at the bottom of each candy?
My mouth watered at the first shot of the candies
wonderful process
Can they do a watermelon
Time to try it ourselves.
no
Watermelon is discusting
Interesting concept. I imagine the rind of a standard watermelon is too tough and fibrous to really be any good, and a fruit that size is probably too big for the sugar to effectively penetrate and candy the whole thing. But I have seen candied melon flesh before, and some melon varieties do grow in small, single-serving sizes. I'd be willing to give it a shot with a miniature icebox watermelon or with melon slices if I worked there.
@@jennifercavenee7572 cool
I loooooove these so much. The modernized flavors aren't as good as the old ones
Those look so delicate yet so expensive but then again it was a labor of love (I think)

These look good ngl. I'm a big fan of fruit jelly.
4:35 ...on the packaging line, a slow conveyor belt, which is clearly not slow enough since each worker is desperately pushing back their tray, moves...
Conveyor belt you mean
It's just like that episode of I Love Lucy.
Why even have one there? just send the box to the next person when you're done and have a conveyor at the last person
@@catmagedsproductions1998 thanks! that's an hard word to guess from the sound
@@NaughtyPrincessfkhandles guess that could work better, lol 😂
Very cool, sure would be fun to try making them at home.

Hauu I wanna try candied fruits now :'')
Same!
Yup !
Amazon I like the Kiwi and Pineapple the best.
I know I'm high, but dang I love candied fruit
I love this stuff and especially oranges
These are so good
If I can get the defective one for cheaper I rather have the defective ones then the good looking ones lol
Some candy companies sell the mistakes for a discounted price. Russel Stovers (not sure if they still do) used to sell boxes of mixed candy that was considered defective because it had gaps in the chocolate where the filling leaked out at their factories. Jelly belly started selling their 'belly flops' jelly beans in the stores but they are not really much cheaper if at all. I miss the Sara Lee bakery that used to be about an hour from my house. They had some killer sales on their stuff in the outlet.
Yeah, they all go down the same
Some factories do sell the “defective” products...
There was a “mom & pop” candy factory where my grandparents used to live, that we would go to whenever we visited them! It was *SO cool* - the entire production section of the factory was enclosed by glass barriers and the 2nd floor had enclosed glass observation walkways directly over them...so people could watch everything being made without getting underfoot and they didn’t have to worry about “tours/tour guides”, or risk contamination. It was basically the best and most brilliant factory setup EVER!! (I’ve not been to other candy factories- so that might be a pretty standard thing...but it definitely blew our little kid-minds!!)😆
But in the gift shop/store section of the factory, they had bulk bins of all the “imperfect” candies, that you would buy by the lb. for a significant amount less (if you just wanted it to eat and didn’t need/want the pretty packaged candy for a gift or something.)
The entire place was freakin awesome. Definitely lots of happy childhood memories there! 😁❤️😋
The narrator sounds tired, like he's been doing this too long
He ate too much sugar candy
He needs more sugar
I can’t believe that both of the comments above me feel the same like have the same vibe but are somehow completely opposite
Max Golden I know they need mike Rowe or Morgan freeman or some one adorable grandma
Better than that other lady with her weird enunciations
Candied fruits I will eat once in a long while thankfully
Would love to make these
Since my childhood how it's made remain same

That made my mouth watering 🤤🤤
Learning this is wonderful. You know what is better. Not abusing copyright and learning fair use.
2:58 reminds me of internship days at a gummy manufacturer 😌 It was a small, family-manage OEM business and we made them all by HANDS! No fancy equipments. Every single day I went home smelled like a gummy 😞

"they sell this whole fruits, elegantly packed in boxes, with an operator who doesn't wash its hands and doesn't wear protective gloves......is that sweat that gives the extra flavour"
Is normal for people in the food or catering business to not wear gloves (never seen a chef or a pastry chef wear em?)... What are you talking about.
