I normally excuse super explosive waves when the characters in the show actually did used them, and goku Super Saiyan did an outstanding explosive wave against Rildo
Things I’d add/change Super Saiyan - Ki Volley into a Running, Point-Blank Kamehameha similar to Vegeta (Super)’s Galick Rush (as Super Saiyajin Goku does this vs Super 17) - a rush attack either referencing his fight vs Redict or him punching 17 across the planet - keep Super Explosive Wave but possibly rename it Super Saiyan 3: - make his Kamehameha heavily inspired by GT’s opening (Super Dragon Flash in Legends) or give him the Path to Power Kamehameha. - Dragon Flurry Fist from FighterZ (his Rush attack vs Super Bebi 2 in the Anime) should be here as it’s strangely very iconic for this version of Goku. - suggestion you mentioned for his ult Super Saiyan 4 - change the name of his Rush, there’s like three different “Meteor Crash”. Btw I love how it incorporates the Budokai Tenkaichi 3 Rush but adds the Blast at the end. - your suggestion for the end of his ult, but also show us the opponent dropping to the floor after the initial punch and add a camera shake or something to indicate the weight behind that initial punch. We see Goku just gut punch the enemy with no real impact and suddenly they’re on the ground? Also a blur effect for the explosion at the end like the anime would make it even better.
As Super Saiyan in the Super 17 arc, his tail was slightly bright brown, but the intention based on the artworks of the DBGT Perfect Files it should be golden. SSJ3 was golden in the actual show.
The show was very inconsistent with thte tail's coloring and the thing is, it makes total sense for the tail to turn golden so no idea why the games have it stay brown

I think the biggest miss here is just SSJ3 having the same moveset as SSJ and that SSJ4's Dragon Fist's gut punch opener has been really toned down. In BT3 and in the anime, the initial gut punch was already so powerful that the enemy was basically dropped already by it, with the Dragon Fist basically being done to an already crippled enemy. Here though, it's just a regular gut punch
Oh boy, time for another banger vid of moveset reviews! I dunno why, even though I own the game I just keep finding myself watching vids of it more than playing it. I gotta change that.
Would like to take the time to appreciate how Sean and the animators killed it with SSJ4 lines and animations. The subtle change of his expression at 5:30 combined with the voice makes this the most aggressive SSJ4 has ever felt.
For me the main thing missing from the SS4 Dragon Fist is seeing the opponent fall to the ground limp after the initial punch. Other then that it's pretty much perfect.
Biggest issue is consistent with all of sparking but it's emphasis on Goku GT and Super 13 is noticeable. The extreme lack of "overwhelming power" makes the rush attacks feel unsatisfying.
I don't understand why they still don't want to reference anything from his fights against Ledgic, Rilld or the Whip Monster, at least for it's SSJ1 form, it's such a shame.
After DECADES I don't understand why they still don't know that every one HATES to see a character having a Super Explosive Wave as a super (or worst : an ultimate), except when it's really justified for a character (like Fat Buu or Recoom for exemple), just... they should know, don't do that AGAIN even in 2024 ! 😂
I know the ending shot for SSJ4 Goku’s Dragon Fist is visually more accurate to the show, but it still looks goofy how the opponent is just randomly flipped on their back at the end of it 😂
I think SSJ4’s new meteor crash is a net win, it feels so much more powerful in SZ imo, but I think the dragon fist is a net loss. It looks cinematic but the impact is lacking. The “I’VE GOT YOU” is still sick sounding, but without the impact on the gut punch, it loses some points.
To this day, I still don't understand why SEWs aren't unblockable as Ultimates. And Ki Blast Volleys are nerfed in this game because you can mash Vanish even when you are struck by one, so you don't get the Hard Knockdown that sometimes is REALLY all you need for a comeback with these cheap moves. Besides, why is that SSJ3 Ultimate his Ultimate? It fits better as a Rush for Base GTKu, that's the attack he used in that form against Super 17! Decent character, tho, base form GTKu is actually a menace.

SSJ doesn't have unique moves like running while using Kamehameha and I feel SSJ3 could go with literally anything from his Baby fights. Turn one of those poor attempts to overwhelm Baby into a rush. SSJ3 should really have a golden tail. Back to SSJ, even the volley attack could have been better. It should look like the one he used against General Rildo. Otherwise I would turn some scenes from the Ledgic or Super 17 fight into a rush. Also what is with the electricity around SSJ4? They got the aura right for once but they added pointless electricity. The only time SSJ4 had electricity around it was when Goku talked wtih Baby next to Bulma and maybe turning into SSJ4 for the first time. The Ultimate makes me upset that Eis and Nova aren't in the game. I don't like the way the Kamehameha times 10 looks like. It looked much better in BT3. There is pointless yellow and the beam is too thin. Either get that right or add the Kamehameha times 10 from the Baby Saga where he charges ki seperately in both hands and pushes them together. I think that looked freaking cool.
I noticed they gave super Saiyan 4 Goku the static that super Saiyan 2&3 has I also noticed that kicks the opponent in the face instead of a punch in the gut

SSJ Goku could have point blank kamehameha rush he used against Super 17. SSJ3 Goku could have rush attack he did against Super Baby 2. Speaking of Baby they actually upgraded his moveset a lot. Super Baby 1 now has unique looking ultimate and a rush taken from entire 15 seconds of screentime he had. Why couldn't they put as much effort to Goku?

Nearly 20 years later they still can’t get it right. Like good God this game is just awful lmao.

Well the Spirit Bomb is certainly bigger than the one in BT3. SSJ4's rush and ultimate aren't as good as the ones in BT3 though.

SSJ3 barely had any screen time in GT, so they had to take some creative liberties in order to warrant its inclusion.

My only gripe about GT Goku is his spirit bomb is not big enough. It feels smaller than the end of Z Goku's spirit bomb.
