James is such an excellent communicator. His SANS Foundations course has been my absolute favorite so far. I keep going back to the course books because he did such an incredible job introducing critical technology concepts from first principles. I only wish SANS students had lifetime access to the video content from Foundations.
At my former employer they tried to implement a on-premise micro-segmentation system (based on the Cisco Zero-Trust concept) and it went nowhere because they did not manage to migrate the roles and groups in the from the Microsoft AD to a workable policy on the Cisco systems. After three years this policy still do not exist. But I agree that Zero-Trust is the future because you have your systems / data / user all over the place now, comparing to the mostly on-premise environments 10+ years ago.
