I was wondering about those. Thanks for the review. Sounds like I don’t need them. Except of course that I must have all of the specialty tools 😂. Seriously good to see you back.
Good to see you. Very interesting but too much of a messy faff for me. I get in enough of a pickle with masking tape let alone rubbing oil and grit into leather. Sounds like something you’d get from Lovehoney 😂
Hiya, good point. Yeah I should have mentioned I was using the nuclear yellow Crimson buffing compound on both the strop and dremel for fairness in the test.
Happy New year sir! its been a minute since I last saw you post. Hope all is good on your side of the pond mate. My best fret jobs have been done with a square dowel with 600 grit paper spray glued to it for shaping. Then a rubber eraser wrapped with 1000 grit to fine sand them smooth, Then a Dremel buffing wheel using Mothers aluminum mag wheel polish.
Yeah, it's been ages! Good to see you. That sounds like a reliable process. I've not used the Mothers polish before, but I've been using autosol, which is a chrome car polish.
Seems like a lot of effort to polish frets. Personally I just use 3-fret erasers (180, 240 & 320-grit); then finish with polishing sticks used to polish fingernails. I think it is 6000 & 10000 grit. Done No taping, no cleanup!! Just use the SS tools to protect the fingerboard. Works for me I guess.
I never thought that I would like a green guitar but THAT look's purdy.
Yeah, it's a copy of Slash's Anaconda Burst and it is pretty stunning to look at.
Seems like a good tool to add to the mix.
Yeah, definitely easier to use that erasers or fiddly bits of sandpaper.

Hi Ray! YOU MUST GET THEM! They'll have their uses, even if they don't replace the entire process.

would be cool to try Duralit or Ultrachrome straight up. Good info mate👍✌🤟
Cheers! Are those Star Wars references or have I been away from car detailing for far too long?!

What about using the buffing compound on a strop?

Have a great 2025! 😀
Cheers, you too!

Very messy Chris. The dremmel is a much better tool and far less messy than the leathery sticks. Good to see you after such a long absence.
Cheers! If they could actually remove the tool marks better, and did the buffing I'd be happier. But I think I'll use them instead of erasers still.

That tool probably cost more than that piece of crap Chibson
Probably the same as the replacement pickups! :)
