Lots of labor and little money = awesome. Thanks dude!
You forgot how many hours of fun you had building it. That is cheap entertainment. love the truck!
Thanks. I get more kicks from building than from driving!
👍🏻Thanks for sharing the cost breakdown!!! Only few people understand that with a little imagination one can build a great low cost hot rod. Can’t wait for the next build!!!
That's what rat rods are all about.👍👍
Can't wait for the next build.
Operating “the claw” looks like a fun job!
Name it little bit because it has a little bit of everything in it 😉
Have a lukka one little buddy
My friend Pat Hughes rolled his New 1976 Chevy Square Body C10 4X4 back in the day and had it towed to his home. Rather than repair it, the Ins Co wrote it off. After receiving his claim money, less the salvage cost of the Chevy, he fitted a 1962 GMC Cab, Front Clip and Box to the '76 chassis. The build process was much like yours. Rat Rods were not a thing back then. The end product was a solid and reliable daily driver he used for twenty years. Pat's first build in high school was a V W dune buggy with a plywood body that mimicked the VW Thing. Watching your build reminded me of Pat. Thanks for sharing your time and resources 👍
.
Thanks Div .
Great build with little money invested.
True budget build
Thanks brother.
I can hardly wait to see what the next project will be.

Thanks man, glad you enjoyed the build!
Great job thank you .
That's a lot of bang for the buck!
Thanks brother! The point I'm trying to make is that its possible to get back to grass root level and still have loads of fun. Catalogues and kits not required😄
Another great video 👍👍
That build was cheap enough! You did an excellent job of putting it all together and educated us along the way...Can hardly wait for the next one!!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise.
Hey Div, I think you have to deduct for the fun factor!:) The other day I was at the gas ( petrol) station and a nice younger man commented on my 64. As a early teenager he had learned to drive stick on a similar truck. He commented on how well I'd taken care of this one. I guess I was successful in preserving the originality of the truck during the build but it made me think how most people can't see the hundreds of hours of work to keep it looking like I hadn't worked hundreds of hours!? Like an old friend of mine once said, " it's like pissing yourself in a blue suit! It gives you a warm feeling but nobody notices". I really enjoy my time in the shed and even more driving the results of my efforts:) Keep up the great videos! I always pick up helpful tips!:)
You did a good job 👏 👍 👌
Thank you Sir!
Turned out amazing!
Thanks!
Nice uncle Div, this was one awesome project to follow.
Dankie Deon!

I call that one Turqu , kinda' short for turquoise! 👍 She's a beaut! 😁
Hey Div. Good video. Yea, it feels good to build a ride on the cheap. It just adds a bit more pride. My Fargo gets lots of smiles as well. Thanks for sharing.
@ritaaboh Hey Div. I went to your @ritaaboth channel but I couldn't leave a message. I'm still watching all of your videos Brother from another Mother.😁
Inspiring!
Love your work love the truck
Thanks 👍
Coolest truck getting around youtube atm
Thanks brother, big compliment!😄
Thanks for the great build! You still need to fix the leaky rear tire Div! LOL!
Yeah, that slow leak is driving me nuts!😂
I wish mine was that cheep but like u said it’s one of a kind
Love the truck. Watched the build since the start. great job man
Thanks very much!👍
Turned out awesome. What's next, can't wait.
Not quite sure yet...
Great job if it makes u smile then your doing it right have loved watching your videos and think your the best
😊 thank you!
When I did the cab on mine the back was severly rusted and I wanted a 5 window version, so I cut the back out of a J2 Bedford cab and grafted it on. The profile is identical to the Chev and it adds a rain gutter down the back of the doors. Thanks for the price breakdown Div, shows what can be done.
Very cool truck , I love it , I would like having one like it myself !
Thanks. Build one!
My thoughts : Cool ride, fun building it, fun driving it and most of all the smile it puts on people’s faces when they see it. And you are right no worries scratching it or letting other people sit in it and take pictures with their kids at car shows. And yes Rat Rods are one of a kind you will never see other exactly like the one you have. When I take mine to a car show and park next to an expensive car the owner will most of the time move their car to other spot. Then after the show I see the same guy put his treasure in a trailer and drive off. I drive mine home and bring smiles to people faces all the way home.😊
That's why we love rat rods!😁
Agree with everything you mentioned. I didn’t build my truck. A friend did the mechanical work for me. I’m finishing all the cosmetics myself. I’ll have a little of 20k into it when I finish, but that’s not a lot compared to most the other vehicles I see at shows & my truck gets more attention than the others, because it’s one of a kind, very unique. I love driving it and I’m not afraid to scratch it or get it dirty. I’ve had the most fun driving it than any other vehicle.
I love your work man.
Thank you! 😊
Dang! I shouldn't have junked that one thing, now I need it.
😂 Yes, always like that! Sometimes you have to draw a line...
Hey Div good to see you hope you and your family are well
That’s a beautiful Rat Rod looking better all the time
PEACE ☮️ brother from Missouri
Thanks bro!
great video yes one of a kind and looks great
Thanks man!
This is too cool...Hats off to you sir! Im a huge fan of old rusty classics. Recently moved to Botswana and wasn't sure if i can bring any classics back to life here but you gave me the confidence to do it. Thanks for your videos, love them!
There should be some interesting cars in Botswana
Cost 1,279. dollars, sence of accomplishment priceless!
Exactly!😃
That’s it I’m hooked! I think I wanna try and build one. It looked like you had a lot of fun finding parts & figuring out your build what a great project. Thanks for the inspiration Div.
Do it brother! If I could inspire, I'm REAL happy!
I have enjoyed your channel and your ideas on a economic build and repurposing metal to produce a very cool rat rod. Nice job!!!!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed!
STOP 🛑 The scrapyard guy's loaded your Hutson Diff 😂 Thank you for all of your lekka videos that you share. Keep up the great work my brother catch you on the next build.
😂 Thanks Alan
COOL NICE VIDEO.✌✌🏁🏁🏁🏁
Very impressive Mr. Div! I'm ready to watch you build your next dream. Cheers from the Shed
Thank you Shedman!
That truck is gorgeous I would use her as a daily driver
Thank you!
I'm glad you can make your own car's there, here in Australia you can't modify your vehicles, even changing the colour, it's been a great build, all the best to you and your loved ones, have a Lekka one
Thats the problem with this world, more and more control! One of the big reasons I came back to South Africa. Relatively speaking, still some freedom left.
That's temporary. I've seen Mad Max and Road Warrior. Pretty soon you'll be able to modify to your heart's content.
Bodacious job, Div. All the little details really came together beautifully.
Thanks for sharing with us about how much it costed you. It's looks great to
That's what I call a good budget. That's really cheap not counting your labor. And it's a cool rat truck. Thanks for sharing.👍
G'day Div.! you forgot to mention the mixing bowl (poverty caps) into the equation, they blew the budget sky high..!! 🤣🤣a lot of blood, sweat, and beers in that build Div. And i reckon it looks shit hot..!! Can't wait to see what you do with the wife's Bedford truck. It would have had a tray body on it originally, but somewhere along the line, someone got creative..?? Regards from Perth, Western Australia
Believe it or not, I actually got the bowl prices in under Parts etc.😂 Thanks brother!
My estimate was 3000 $ - without accounting the hours of work you put in. In other words: The hardware of it.... Good price for a unique vehicle with nearly every part working ok. Wish you a lot of good rides in and around Mossel bay :)
Sure does look good, Diff 🍺
Thank you!
Wow, amazing... over here in the Netherlands, I'd be lucky just to find a rusty body for under 3 grand.
You did one hell of a nice job on building that that partial Chevy Nissan Ford tr truck I know I left out A Few Oh yeah VolkswagenNice job very cool truckI'm excited to see what you build nextThanks for the videos always a good time I really enjoy them
Thanks man!
I like your videos
Thank you!
man too good, i wish i could find the cars here in PHUKET..... but there's nothing but new pieces of plastic........ Decided now to build a buggy , found some old ATV's fopr suspension and drive preity CHEAPOP..... using my 2006 R1 Motor..... its so cool this build for the AMOUNT of cash you have put in... please keep showing us your way BRO... cookie
Awesome bru!
Awesome build Div.
Keep up the great work.
Just under $2000AUD! Well done mate!
Loved the build mate! You have a unique yet relatable outlook on life! Would love to buy you a beer and hear some stories! Can't wait to see what's next!
Thanks mate. My door is open, waiting for that beer!😃
@@ratrodsafrica you been hacked mate? Someone looks like you talking about shortlisted winners... See the other reply to my comment...
@@inhand07 it's a scam! You will see only the pic is me not the name. Lot of channels having this problem. I will report
@@ratrodsafrica apologies, right you are ..
@@inhand07 no problem. Thanks for pointing it out!
I love your humbleness, it is not always about making car original but making it your own and having fun with it.
Thank you brother.
I have more than that in wheels and tires. I bet the wife is happy with the yard clean up.
Very happy 😂
Awesome Div...Nice round up, to a job well done. Thank you for sharing...What's next?
Thanks Ish. Not sure yet...
That was awesome. Your great skills and imagination made what you have. That is worth it all. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Cheers!
Brother you are a master artist !!!! The cost value of your truck is priceless !!!! You took what you have and built an awesome piece of art !!!! Keep them coming so I can keep watching lol !!!! Say hi to everyone for me !!!! Have a lekka one !!!!
Great job Diff. Could not have said it any better than that that's a really cheap build, 💪👍👌
Now that is a great truck for the price . But you forgot the 4 or 5 bucks for your famous babymoons. :)
😁 I did actually add it under parts etc.
Thanks for the cost breakdown ! In reality , that is very little to spend when it comes to an enjoyable hobby. Here in the states that is very little to spend considering some of the hobbies people have. Whether it's fishing or hunting or golf or many others you would care to name. Of course the full shiny vehicle restorations will far exceed that and will not be near as much fun. One cannot and should not try to put a price on one's time when it comes to enjoyment (even if that enjoyment is frustrating in parts of the project) Very , educational , entertaining and inspiring. Thank You for sharing that build with us.
Thanks brother. Yes, putting a price to the time is pointless
I'll bet you will need some of the scrap parts they hauled off. Like the pickup box.
Always like that! But at some point you run out of space and draw a line...😃
Lots of good building materials gone
😂Needed space, needed to make the wife happy, still have lots of junk
Well Div you’ve managed to do what most people can’t even dream of. Building a one of a kind rat rod truck from bits and pieces. You managed to save some history with the vision that you have. That in my books is awesome. To see that rolling down the road is priceless. And your budget shows just what someone with skill and vision can accomplish Have a good one Div.
Hopefully this can inspire some dreams!
Great job Div!!!! That truck definitely puts a smile on my face!!! You are way too cool!!!! Love your channel!!
Thank you brother!
Hi Div, I have liked rat rods for years but as a retired paint sprayer I always liked a good paint job on them. I have enjoyed watching your video's and brother I got to say I like how the rusty patina looks and that is a truck I would use as a daily driver, well done mate
Thanks mate. Never thought a paint guy would say that!😂
This Rat Rod turned out great, now let's wait to know his name and his next project. Big hug!
Great looking truck. Love your videos and outlook on things in general. I have a 1947 fordoor monarch 32000 miles enjoy every mile I put on it. Unfortunately here in Canada can't drive it in winter.
Thank you!
Awesome project Div. I enjoyed watching every episode and learned a few things to boot. Thanks.
Thanks brother!
Great results, Div! Can’t wait to see what you start next.
Thanks! Not quite sure about the next one yet...
Love this video. I’m not sure it could be done in the US, where I am, for the same money. But the point is very well made. And I’d much rather have the truck than the McLaren anyway 😊👍👍
Thanks brother. Its the point that matters! Getting out of the catalogues and back to grass roots
