About The Nanny:
Fran Drescher stars as Fran Fine, a street-smart young woman with a face out of Vogue and a voice out of Queens who stumbles onto the opportunity to become nanny to the children of a wealthy widower, Maxwell Sheffield. Soon Fran, with her offbeat nurturing and no-nonsense honesty, touches Maxwell as well as the kids.
#TheNanny #90s #FranFine
I was so shocked how good this disguise was I couldn’t recognize her at all! They did such a great job and Fran acted so funny. She is so talented
I love how the waitress looks like Fran from the back, making it seem like it’s her but then surprise, she’s the dude! 😂
I love the bait-and-switch that we're supposed to think Fran is the waitress until she turns around.
Are you blind?
@@Gambit771 it’s the truth though - even the waitresses outfit is similar to the typical “Fran” style. Sure it’s easy to see it’s not Fran in retrospect, but IMO it’s clear to me that was the joke/reveal they were going for.
@@Gambit771 Are YOU dumb? The face, the outfit, the voice, it's all similar to Fran so it's reasonable to think someone would think that was Fran. They could have gotten some other woman that didn't look and sound so similar to her.
You know I never expected an actual, realistic disguise in a sitcom but boy did the production put so much effort!
Good thing you received what you expected.
😄😄 "I thought 20 years of musical theatre had finally taken it's toll on me"
great line.
😂😂
Funny line
She deserved an Emmy for this performance. It was too good
Is the requirements that low for an emmy?
Your comment is not only true it deserves a thousand more Likes.
Holy crap, I love that disguise and how Fran acts as a man. Maxwell then makes it better when he tells everyone they live together
the crotch grab was especially amusing.
She really reminded me of Taylor Swift in her "The Man" video.
@@shadowsmoonlight so that's why she looked so familiar!
@@shadowsmoonlight Is that video that bad?
Well it is taylor swift so lazy sexist stereotypes to appeal to bitter millennial feminist is the only thing she can do.
Well, maxwell never has been careful with his words.
That's one convincing disguise
Oh this whole scene is soooo “I Love Lucy” 🤣🤣🤣
yes, I caught that when the guard was watching an old I love Lucy show.
wich is weird, but then recall how long ago this was on the air.
the kids today have no idea who Lucy was and how huge she was back in the day.
It’s pretty obvious I Love Lucy was a major influence on the show in general. They really turned up the comedy after S1 to reflect that. Plus, they make numerous references to Lucy and a lot of popular ’60s sitcoms.
@@jobob47 Yeah it's really sad. Even I knew what Lucy was when I was a little kid because Nick @ Nite actually played CLASSIC black and white sitcoms during Block Party Summer lol. Also, my 8th grade history teacher showed us the Vitameatavegamin episode when we were learning about 1950s history. I was cracking up when she took the first swallow.
@@jobob47 I'm 16 and grew up without cable so that what I watched
It reminded me of the episode when Lucy and Ethel sneaks into Ricky’s stag party. Lol
Fran did a fantastic job impersonating a male and the fact she couldn't wait to hear the compliments and pushed the waitress away until she heard what they thought about her.
She did not.
Seriously.
Has any of the women here ever met a man before?
Get out of the house more.
The disguise is so convincing that it’s weird hearing that voice come out. 3:52
I’m so impressed with her acting. The first time I watched, I thought it wasn’t her because the voice! 😳
Cancel my appointment with the eh....professor 😂
Them slapping each other had me choking on air 😂
Me2
,,Hello, Maxwell Sheffield and you are Mr. ... ?"
,, Ehmmmm.... Ed? "
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
3:50 Holy shit I died laughing at her cheeky little grin! Lmao! 🤣 “no, it’s me! Ms.Fine 😁”
I never realized how short Fran Drescher was without her high heels
Love your profile picture! I’m a huge Trixie and Katya fan.
@@ethanahmu6149 SAME
She's 1 meter 63 centimeters
@@Busybee.bee. it’s fun sized
@@Busybee.bee. she's 5'5", which seems tall to me!
oh, man. I thought all those years of musical theater had finally taken their toll on me.
indeed, old chap, indeed.
Fran and Glen fighting always cracks me up, one of my favorite scenes in the whole show! xD xD 😂😂 🤣🤣
@Tom Bukowski Same here.
My god, she's the most convincing man I've ever seen.
Her disguise is PERFECT
This scene, the "Shave him for surgery" scene, and the "cluck like a chicken" scene.....the greatest Nanny scenes every to guarentee you side ripping laughter hilarity.
Only true fans, know the other two references.
With cc u mean
Don't forget abt imogene's death 🤣🤣🤣
I have not seen much of this show, but I'm familiar with that clip. Her mannerisms are quite similar to Lucille Ball.
I'm referring to the surgery scene.
What a goddess of comedy! And she wore the make-up/carried herself so well! I worked with two guys from New York who were just like her "Mr Wilbur Ed" persona! This bit gets a 🏆!
"That's a lovely shade of blush you're wearing . . . uh chicks like to hear that stuff!"
She’s very talented! She was convincing.
😄😄That part where she shook that guy's hand
Oh my gosh Maxwells expression at 4:20 is the best!! After saying “it’s okay we live together” 😅
I can't get over how Fran pretends her little makeup mirror is a cell phone 🤣 "Yeah Maryanne uh, cancel my meeting with . . . the Professor!" lol all the references to 60s sitcoms. Mister Ed and Gilligan's Island. How the fuck did this show not win ONE Emmy? Everybody was jizzing their pants over Seinfeld. That disguise was AMAZING. Even better than Lucy and Ethel's disguises when they snuck into the "Daddy Shower" on I Love Lucy!
Don't forget the *I Love Lucy* theme song after Fran is denied admittance.
Seinfeld was pathetic. I never even smiled watching it
It actually won a single Emmy for Costume Design for the Canasta episode.
This was one of the funniest episodes in the series!
Fran Fine's character had the most outstanding sense of self-irony!
That must be one of the best successful disguises ever! 🤣😂🤩
This is hilarious. Always been a favourite scene! She is amazing! And how Mr Sheffield says "wilbur!?" cracks me up.
This scene is PRICELESS. lmao 😆 If I had only seen this one clip of The Nanny, I'd be immediately sold on binging the entire show in a week.
She made a better looking guy than most guys do.
😂🤣😂, but HELL NOOOOO!! 😁
Lmao I thought she was gonna be the cocktail waitress until Fran turned around as Wilbur 🤣🤣🤣 "I go straight to al capone" 😂 🤣 gold
Reminds me of that I Love Lucy episode where Lucy and Ethel dress as male reporters to sneak into Ricky’s “baby shower” after he has sympathy pains because of Lucy’s pregnancy
That's why you heard the "I Love Lucy" theme in the beginning!
@@kerriethompson2073 ooooh, I was wondering what that music was!
Anyone else notice how the I Love Lucy theme starts playing?😂😂
When the I Love Lucy music started playing, I knew was about to happen. This episode is so funny and Fran’s disguise is so amazing that I would’ve believed it was a short man if I didn’t know any better😭😭🤣
The writing on this show is so clever and hilarious, holds up today! 😂 getting so much joy from these clips
omg, when I first watched this it took me a while to realize it was Fran in disguise!! the make up, the hair, the voice, the acting...SO AMAZING OMG
One of Fran's favourites episodes. This is funny.
This episode is hilarious! I've seen some of the other ones but this is just too much! Off the hook! The man disguise is just superb ! Some one in the costume and makeup dept did a fantastic job!
Left out the best part when Max and "Wilbur" left the club arm-in-arm.
As many of times I watched this clip I just got why they laughed at her name...Ed...Mr. Ed... That horse from another show!☠️😂🤣😅CLEVER!
She did that. I love the nanny and fran
Dear Jesus! Fran in that drag getup looks like Wolverine! XD
Damn thats some good costume design.
her voice how can it be that deep???
Fran would do pretty well as a drag king :)))
took me like 10 seconds to realise "OK wow wait, I guess that's really her!!"
Fran in that damn suit is the reason why I'm queer now. I lover her!
lol I respect that
This is in my top five favorite scenes in the whole show 😂
So THIS is where Taylor Swift got her inspiration for The Man
OMG that's who she reminds me of!!!!😮
Fran is a beautiful woman and a handsome man, haha!
So many subtle acts in between I LOVE IT!!!!
this bit is comedy gold. So good! Haha, can't believe Fran is able to beat up both guys :D
Ya know she pretty cute like this too, some people just have it all
“That’s a lovely shade of blush”….😂😂😂
This is my favorite scene!!!!! Absolutely love Fran and Lucy! Both iconic legendary Ladies
I love the fran fine lookalike
this show was so over the top lol i love it so much
I think 20 years of musical theater has finally took its toll on me. LMAO 🤣😂😂 apparently it has.
Fran is amazing! Reminds me of when Lady Gaga also transformed into a male character so convincingly years later.
Very talented actress👏
Fran did this part good. I love her
Taylor Swift who? Fran's the man!
Eh LOL hahaha
OMG.... she looks EXACTLY like Taylor Swift in her video for the song "The Man"!!!!!!
Yass!!
You seriously thought Taylor actually came up with that idea/look on her own?
Oh you naive creature...
Fran took looking out for a boss, friend, babysitter to a new realistic and respectful dedication..,
One of the best episodes, I love Fran so much
That's just ridiculously hilarious 🤣
She really did GLOW more than an average human does..
She was in her path, doing it perfectly, looking incredibly beautiful… she is eternal, and so is her light.
Lol she's cute
OMG! this is the funniest clip I have seen so far.
Looks like a Charlie's Angel's disguise
Oh, yeah, Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore.
Seems pretty normal for a gentlemen’s club. A punch up over a check and then a sudden coming out.
I was like that is Shawn Spencer's dad!!😮😂🙂
Came into the comments to see if anyone else caught on to that.
Too funny 😅🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is my favorite episode & favorite scene out of the whole series.
I'm glad that Fran knocked Corbin Bernsen out. I've wanted to do that since he was on "L.A. Law".
Mr. Sheifeild and Fran as a man make a nice couple
I have to admit this was so funny!! Lol 😆
1:20 That is the weirdest entrance I've ever seen a "Man" doing to another man. 😂😂
Wonder if Taylor Swift got her outfit inspo for "The Man" from this episode....they look exactly the same!
Love a good slap fight! Seriously though, how did Fran get all that hair under a wig? :)
4/15: Thanks, everyone for the suggestions!
That’s my thoughts too
@José Elias I hadn't thought of that! :)
Easy. She s done her hair in sophisticated buns too. I dont get it. I also have big curly hair, but that's because my hair gets a lot of volume. When I put my hair in a bun people ask me how I did it sometimes. It's not rocket science people. You can actually COMB hair and put it in a ponytail or bun. It's not weird or difficult. Very easy. Besides many ways to tame big hair like braiding, gels etc.. Most of it is fluff and volume anyway
@José Elias or just comb or braid or put a cream or gel? Doesn't have to be watered down lol. Not the way I do it anyways. Got the same kind of big hair
By using a very tight hair net underneath the wig. Fran also probably doesn't have a lot of hair to begin with. She blow-dries her hair big and uses a lot of hairspray
Reminds me of Drew Barrymore in Charlie's Angels movie
wait did max just admit to stringing fran on?? i don't understand why tf he'd do that? and why she wouldn't be more upset or idk, give up on him??
Never heard a guy stretch the truth to impress another guy? Or a woman see through that nonsense? (Great comedy writing understands human nature!)
@@tigeechan2040 ,yeah; just 'locker room' talk!
No, this was during the second season. He’s basically just admitting to how he gets her to do things he doesn’t want to do himself.
Never realised Franny barely cracked 5ft
She's not that short. She's like 5'4"/5'5".
Fran looks cute as a MAN !!
I fucking love this episode 😄😄😄😄
I have this episode taped on cassette. I should really digitize the tape though. I think I recorded it off from Cozi tv a few months ago. But this scene is one of my favorites though since the disguise is ingenious but smart. Since its hard to tell when you pull it off without having anyone sound the alarms.
she looks exactly like taylor swift in "the man" music video
More like Taylor looked exactly like her
@@aquablue1252 Exactly
Oh my goodness the ending!!!😄😄💖💖💯
Exactly what Lucy would do! I love how Fran always referenced "I love lucy."
I laughed all through this.
Imagine this airing in 2021...the triggering would be off the charts
Good episode
Fran looks a little bit like Dr. Todd Grande here.
2:42 I'm surprised Fran let Max get away saying that about her
When i first saw her entering like a man i never expected to laugh so hard
Corbin Bernsen!
Wow it took me a while at first😯😂 that is some skill.
I just realized the guy playing Glen is the actor who plays Henry in psych
This is so cursed 😫 🤣
