At the end of the day, everything devolves into their basic shape
Arin is Bouba, Dan is Kiki
BEAN and TRIANGLE
Dan has no right to laugh at his dad for "Spoofy."
He just wanted to know where he could get his beloved son's music 😔
He laughed at himself with “Skidoo”, equal rights silly word enjoyer.

@@clericoflight476bouba and kiki is a study on how different cultures/languages would call 2 shapes. one of the shapes is like a pointy star and the other one is more like a thought bubble. most people would say kiki is the star and bouba is the bubble because of how sharp/soft the name sounds!

watching this without context is already a good time (arin blob's tiny yamaka hello??) and then realizing what 23skidoo is referring to on the 3rd rewatch .... effervescent
The tiny yarmulke was a necessary addition to bring home the fact of Arin's identity. And yeah, when I originally watched the episode, the fact that Dan got the name so wrong sent me into a spiral of laughter! 😂 That's when I knew I had to do this clip for an animated!
i like how the fandom heights/sizes for the grumps are so commonplace that even simple shapes completely work.
I think we all knew deep down that Arin has always been pink blob, and Dan has been some blue nondenominational 3sided shape 🤔😌

23 skiddoo is the kids music alias of Agent 23, a rapper, which he made when he had his daughter. This is probably what he was thinking of.
By night the bars fall hard, but by day he makes up songs about eating your broccoli and chard. He is the man this city wants, but what his daughter needs 😤💪🏽

I love this, I bet my sis and dad would too. This is SO well done, the simple shapes that occasionally turn into very well drawn, detailed human parts, the text in addition to the little geometry faces… Really wonderful!

its amazing how basic they can be and still be 100% recognisable
They've become their own mascots! Their general image is just so recognisable that you could reduce them down to even a line and a dot and still be able to know it's the boys 😼✨
They don't even have to move, it could be stoic images of them and I'd be happy
Hehehe, this is all I could do with the skills I have. I'm practicing my animation so hopefully (not the next one) but in the future they will be properly animated ✨👀

I sent them a package of my blood and they started sending me a number every day. It was only after a while did I realise they were counting down from 100 😥
This is great! You took the time to draw so many little gags that are only on screen for a split second, and they're all fantastic! I also love the art style you chose for Arin & Dan. They're so simple, yet so fitting for their character types.

not as in any resemblance to a real legume. not a smol bean. we must go deeper.
the man is beansome in nature. a feisty bean, don't mistake me! a bean whose round edges are sometimes also sharp. a bean that sometimes is known to cause problems on purpose. but, while all these things, a bean first and always.
as for Dan; hoo boy! I like how you drew him because that man sure is MY angle! =D=D=D
(also some other stuff happens, like cuts from abstract to extremely realistic that last just long enough for you to register them so you only realize they're hilarious a full second later. those are neat too.)
