I find so much value and meaning through each little glimpse and video you give us the privilege to watch, both individually and regarding the "big picture"
I stayed here overnight in 2013. It was a great experience! There was no plumbing or electricity at the time (that I know of). We got several blankets at night since it got SO COLD, and it was extremely heavy but warm!
We stayed overnight here in 2013. Magical. Danced around a fire at night with the local people. Hiked the island. Had delicious Titicaca fish and quinoa - chicken soup. So sad that our World has now changed so much. Tried to sign for archaeology tour but vaccine now required. Not possible for those of us who have immune issues.
I stayed here in 2006. It was a rainstorm through the night and the roof was corrugated. The noise! My roommate had altitude sickness and filled up all 3 “Pee Pee” Bowls, throwing up all night. In the morning she had to clean them all out in the outside toilet with no running water. Just a big drum of water and a saucepan. 😂😂 I found it Hilarious coz I’m Scottish and she was English and she had moaned about everything on the 10 day trip. I even ordered Cuy (Roast Guinea Pig) because she was so horrified and told us not to. I had to share the room with her this night because she had fallen out with her 2 English friends who went on the trip with her. I did the Inca Trail for 3 days which is very hard. They didn’t but we met up afterwards at a Restaurant. They moaned because the restaurant was up a flight of stairs! We were tired, sore and filthy but they were moaning about a few stairs. That’s why I ordered the Cuy.
Super cool video Brien! What a fun little side adventure from your usual great explorations. It's so interesting to see thriving self sustaining societies
@@astralpowerr I certainly will try. The reason ive been asking around In various comments sections it’s because I hear the term thrown around a lot but with varying degrees of definition. It’s clear to me that there’s a lot of truth to the idea that people long ago were much more advanced than what archaeology gives them credit for. But there’s so much theoretical garbage out there that anything that might be true gets lost in the mix... Anyways when i get it figured out I’ll get back to you!
@@astralpowerr do you know what maybe that is the definition. Any technology used by humans in the past that is more advanced than they are currently given credit for...
At first I thought "cool, helping these ppl make a living there by promoting this exotic place for tourism. Then you said they grow almost 100% of their own food. 🤔
Basically, the indeginous people have a sloped forehead while your guide had a flatter forehead... As did her ancestors (portugese/spanish)... Which is why some people live better than others. The frontal lobe is the most important part of your brain. Some have bigger ones than others... The ones with smaller frontal lobes have more brain mass in other places tho, making them better warriors/hunters/soldiers. Which is why people with sloped foreheads are prone to get angry and blame others. Its why they are known to be agressive... They dont know any better, lash out and seek hurt and punish others that have NOTHING to do with their problems. Its why not everyone should be able to vote.
The one thing that stands out to me is happy those people seem to be.

Easy there, Brien! You’re getting a little winded walking up those hills! haha 😆

Your new sound intro doesn't freak out my dog at all. I usually like to play your videos even while I'm sleeping.
Thanks mate. That looks like a wonderful place to visit.

Трудно представить) - сколько древних артефактов находится на дне этого "озера"...😎
Thank you Brien.
Hey, have you never seen in Bolivia or Peru, some Viking language or script... Like north scandinav "runes" ?
no
Before I even clicked on the reply I knew Brien's answer would be one word: "no"
haha
Nice, man made Islands and a natural one too, seems like Lake Titicaca has quite a bit to offer...
Great video today, Brien.
omg where can i buy this beautiful fabric
Intitica = Sunflower
Should call it Hay Island!
Out of all the land they could live, they chose to make their own on a lake. Wonder what influenced them to do so?
Ok great can we go home now?
We are home...doh!
Imagine being the first European to ask a local Incan "Hey what's the name of that beautiful lake?" 😁
Titikala
This is why we can't have nice things 🤦🏼♂️
Sorry I'm 8 years old.
@@mileslong3904 never too young to learn the truth
why is the island called that? he says he doesn’t know..... supposedly....
The Lake is over a mile-high.
huh?
Should use wood as well.
Still wondering what the definition of "high technology" is... Anyone?
something that involves advanced machinery or sound tech etc. Basically something far more advanced than hammer n chisels..
@@astralpowerr it seems that would be a very partial definition...
@@middleway5271 find the full definition and let me know :) I'll be waiting.

Are you been in China ? Sanxingdui a unknow civilization still a mistery.

🤔
so...? u use all your money on food? What about building materials that the locals can't get on their island. Think harder.
Everything around probably isn't a pyramid
who said it is..?
