The color on the sides is actually discoloration from it Bein old and dirty. That yellowing usually happens with clear phone cases after a while when they get dirty.

Probably a different type of material. I had a phone case like that a few years ago that was silicone on the sides and a hard plastic on the back so only the silicone sides got yellow while the back stayed clear.

I have four cases cause like one was from apple bc when I got my phone it was a couple days before we went on a trip so no case would come in time, then my second case I had for a while (like 10 months) but it got crusty so I got a clear one but my friends kept making fun of me for the kpop idols in my phone case and it got dirty easily so I got another one recently, I rotate between them throughout the year tbh
