I'm glad that even though Sarah is an Orlando coaster enthusiast, she doesn't always compare everything do Disney or universal. A lot of Florida thoosies do that

Kings island literally being a 15 min drive for me: 1 visit this year
Carowinds literally being a 8 hour drive for me: 2 visits this year

I’m the same way but with holiday world
I go to Dollywood like 12 times a year and I live about 5 hours away but Carowinds I haven’t been to in 4 years but it’s like 1 hour away
same with me, i live 30 minutes from darien lake but we go to canadas wonderland and hp alot
I feel like Orion is running SIGNIFICANTLY better this year than it was last year. Not only is it smoother, but this thing hauls butt!

Full trains probably helps.
I believe a lot of that has to do with the amount of people on the trains. From what I remember when I was there in October they were loading every other row, so more people will add more wait to the train this time around

If this is smooth, I’m glad I didn’t make the trip last year. I didn’t like Orion and it gave me a massive headache
I’m so glad I got to ride Firehawk before it closed. It was a really fun ride.
Easily the most underrated ride out there!
I was absolutely furious when KI demolished that! Orion should’ve replaced Vortex or Invertigo! Those are both piece of shits!

I just went to Kings Island for the first time last weekend and it was a blast!
A few months ago I went to King's Island with my dad. We were in line for Flying Ace and these high school age girls started talking to us, saying "don't go on orion, it's terrible" and they were so pumped for Flying Ace. I'm pretty sure they were serious.
I'm definitely a bigger theme park fan than amusement park fan. For example, Knotts is my second favorite Cedar Fair park. That being said, I really have to tip my hat to Kings Island. As amusement parks go it's really an incredible place with excellent atmosphere and a very well balanced ride collection.

I appreciate the tip on getting your hand far enough back on diamondback to get drenched. Did it today on last ride and got fantastic results. Whole left side of body soaked.
I went in early June and it was awesome!
Recognized Paul working Orion a few weeks ago but wasn't 100% sure it was him aha. Wow, should have said something. Been waiting for this video! KI was fantastic. Every ride was hauling at their maximum pace. Beast was rough though!
I was just at KI on the 22nd and 23rd for my first time. Orion is my #2 giga of the 5 in North America!
Is it just me, or does it seem that rides have been breaking down a LOT this year? Gatekeeper’s chain broke, HQ Spinsanity at SFA had a dampener issue with a leg, now Toro derailed at SFGAd. What is happening?
Also, the reason why Orion seems like a giant hyper is because it WAS originally a hyper; KI told everyone that the rumored CGA hyper was canceled and supersized for Kings Island
Maybe because during their down time of COVID they couldn't keep up with maintenance. Hence why lots of issues

rollercoasters and other rides have to be continuously moving at all times. because of covid, all parks were shut down for almost a year, so no rollercoasters were operating, and that causes issues. that’s just how rollercoasters work, idk the technical part of it, but they have to operate frequently or else issues will arise LMAO

Why were they roasting the park?
It's ironic, I went to HW, then KK, then KI last week! Had never been to KK, it had been 18 years for HW and 20 years for KI. I went to the dark side and got the Fast Lane Plus for my second day at KI, but I got on so many rides! I loved their "Big 3" B&M's. I hadn't been to any medium or large parks in 15 years, it was great to get back out.
As for Orion, I can't really compare it to other gigas since the only other one I've ever been on is MF. But overall I preferred both Banshee and Diamondback.
I’ve gone to cedar point three times and always thought if I’m going to Ohio I’m going to cedar point but my brother is going to college in Ohio and it is close to kings island so maybe I could get to it
🤤 I am so depressed😩😩. Haven’t ridden a good coaster since 2019 before COVID😷😭😭 we got season passes to worlds of fun, but those aren’t that good coasters, and the cedar fair pays no attention to it, it’s weak

I love how even those who are somehow still hung up over Cedar Fair’s own nomenclature on what constitutes a giga (Boring! Please get over it.) still have to admit to the less snobbish GP masses that Orion is a really great ride! BTW it’s 300 feet from the lowest point on the first drop. It’s not built on flat ground. If you come up with a category, you get to define its parameters. Full disclosure: I’ve just had one ride on it and it was literally less than a week ago. In addition, the only other giga I’ve ridden is Millennium Force and that was in 2000 and 2003 (which also gets unfair hate). That said, everyone I was with, myself included, thought Orion was amazing! It was smooth, fast and had amazing air time with no pain when we rode it! That should be a winner in anyone’s book! In the end it’s how it makes you feel! Oh and I vote to keep maintaining The Beast the way it is! … well, maybe some Gravity Group treatment could help without completely changing the experience. It’s a piece of Roller Coaster History like The Racer! (Just don’t sit over an axle in the last car! OW!) Some things are worth preserving. There are plenty of choices of parks and coasters from which to choose. Kings Island is a very popular park! It will survive loosing a few of us. Let’s not remove everything that makes Kings Island so unique! That’s a truly great park with a rich history! We just don’t need to RMC everything! Let’s keep some of the icons! … and please understand that I appreciate the fact that coaster channels must walk a fine line and deliver content appropriate to their target audience. Taylor, you are the great mediator. You do it with class! Thank you for your open mind and very helpful content! I love the enthusiasm you and Sarah bring to this hobby. There’s room for everyone here, even us pensioners!

I dont want an RMC of Beast, but what about a Titan Track makeover? The double helix needs to remain unchanged, but if Titan track could be used to update the layout and remove some of the trims in the first half, the Beast could once again be world class
they could also remove the trims after the second lift hill
the helix is still awesome, but it would be better without those trims
The beast only needs basic retracking, nothing else.
Beast at night is the best thing the park has lol 😂
I love Cedar Point but you’ll get twice as many rides at Kings Island. Great operations. I am at Kings Island every week. The Racer is much better this year. This must be an old vid, cuz KI has been open until 10pm for a week.
i went last year in October and got a night ride on Orion and its 10/10 only two complaints I had was didn't get to try blueberry boba tea and I missed out on banshee it was closed
This is my home park and i didn’t realize how not smooth banshee and diamondback are until yesterday
@Patrick Cadiz On the diamondback row 3 is, but on the banshee try to ride in row 1 but if not the first 3 rows are the best. But for it to be more intense the back of both is better

Orion, I 305, and millennium force all have the same size first drop. Definitely all gigs coasters

I started the day with Orion which was awesome, but I think I preferred Diamondback to it for most of the day. At the end of the day though, I finished with 3 straight rides on it, and now it's my favorite at the park! Also just inside my top 10 as well. Right behind MF.
Agreed, I found myself enjoying DB more overall bc it''s not as intense. DB is just so re-rideable whereas Orion leaves me needing a break after greying out on the upward helix. Still an insane experience going through that first banked turn and turnaround 200+ feet in the air
After riding both a ton last year and this year, I’m pretty certain I like Diamondback better overall. You can’t beat the drop on Orion, but Diamondback gives such amazing air time. I love it. I think my top 3 in the park are Diamondback, Mystic Timbers, and Banshee.
Orion is awesome at night. I just rode it after fireworks last night, but Fury is still the best.
Fury is so overrated. Once it hits the helix, it is an uneventful snoozefest to the break-run. Unlike Orion which keeps its speed till the end.
You should do updates coaster reviews for KI!

Orion's at its best....but yeah, I know the Flight of Fear inside the exit has a bunch of old VHS videotapes.....Makes me wonder what Kings Island's doing with this nowadays....Definitely can't wait to celebrate Kings Island's 50th Anniversary Golden Celebration in a couple months even though it's already fast approaching now.

It’s a blessing to be only 15 minutes away. Fury is definitely better but Orion’s drop is more powerful.
Beast has gotten absurdly rough, won't be riding it again till something is done.

Taylor you are probably aware of this but if you got your platinum pass from Kings Dominion, you have $50 on your pass as a reward since they did not open last year. Just wanted to remind you in case you forgot. I am assuming you got your pass from Kings Dominion, as much as you travel I could be wrong, but didn’t want you to miss out on free money.

Turning The Beast into an RMC is a horrible idea. Its too legendary and iconic. Don't touch it.
