This is such a fine technical and musical performance. Octatrack owners and potential buyers, take heed! This level of seemingly-effortless mastery can be attained by anyone willing to devote enough time, patience, and thoughtful experimentation. One rarely-mentioned prerequisite of learning any instrument is to be very musically aware and have great timing and taste, and Trygve Stakkeland gets high marks in these categories.
I just found myself compelled to write something here. I've been browsing some live setup videos for the past hour and this is by far the best showcase of how to use this gear properly! Great work man.

Sounds really good. Can you explain a little bit about what is happening here? Were you pitch shifting on the octatrack to make the melody go up? Were you recording segments into the machine? Thanks
Great sounds! Is the kick/clap combo a sample or is it coming from the TR8? Thanks for any hint on achieving that smack, would love to do such pumpin sounds too...
Efficient ! Would you share your settings ? I already used the following settings but it's not as good as yours : Scene A : Pitch 0, rate 63 Scene B : Pitch 12, rate -63 No timestretch. Thanks.
nice work, question for you how do you like the timeline with line level inputs? i've been looking around and options are few for a delay stompbox that won't clip like hell when you run a synth thru it. seems like options are either strymon timeline, eventide timefactor or like a $600 rack delay... :(
+rss313 Guess this is too late, but TC Electronic stuff, like the Flashback and Alter Ego (delays), all work equally well with line level signals. They're stereo in/out, and has/does everything you'd expect of a quality pedal, but cost 1/3 of the Strymons. They also have kill-dry if you wanna use it as a send/return with a mixer or audio interface. I use the Hall of Fame reverb pedal, from the same series, as my primary studio reverb. And I've also done demo videos of both the Hall of Fame and Corona Chorus with my Minilogue synth.
Marc the Darc thanks for the detailed reply. i'm using a dl4 as my send/return delay on my mixer, and it seems to work fine with pretty much anything i put thru it, including my moog. the TC stuff gets high praise so next time i'm looking for more delay i'll definitely demo one.
How do you write the midi notes? Is there a chance to import already written midi files onto Octatrack via CF card. And what are these awesome base ? :) From analog keys or samples from OT?
Can Çakmakçı Dostum midi dosyasını cf. a atamazsın octatrack desteklemiyor öyle bir şeyi. 8 audio track + 8 midi track var orada (midi butonuna basınca aktif oluyor) onları kontrol ediyor daha önceden belirlerdiği pattern ler var onların arasında geçiş yapıyor.
Nice job ! First and last question for me : I've been searching for such a bass sound for quite a while, what synth does it come from ? Quite positive I haven't read it below... please help. ahaha !
Noyceeee. I have to try one analog keys. Do you think the texture would fit a quite decent acoustic drumset ? Would it punch or not that good ? mmmh...
haha can't decide if you're pulling my leg or not, especially considering that the manual is s***. It's a workaround (one of many) to create a gating/pumping effect. You'd use lfos on volume or filter i don't remember.
LIQUID LIMBS Could also be routed to the TR-8. it has a side chain input for just such things. but the octatrack LFO trick is also capable of doing the pumping sound.

Sounds really good. Can you explain a little bit about what is happening here? Were you pitch shifting on the octatrack to make the melody go up? Were you recording segments into the machine? Thanks
Killed it
Just found this and it's so good and I'm also like number 666
This is amazing mate. Get it out there!
What are you using for processing? The kick slams so much harder than in the other demos I've seen.
Great sounds! Is the kick/clap combo a sample or is it coming from the TR8? Thanks for any hint on achieving that smack, would love to do such pumpin sounds too...
yeeezus, all up in it
Good progressive house! Very good!
killer
Soo grOovy and tasty!
how do you like the big sky in an edm Setup?
Efficient ! Would you share your settings ?
I already used the following settings but it's not as good as yours :
Scene A : Pitch 0, rate 63
Scene B : Pitch 12, rate -63
No timestretch. Thanks.
Are all of the drum sounds from the Octatrack only? They sound really nice and crisp.
nice work, question for you

Tune!
I see the Bigsky, but what's the other Strymon?
how did you get the side chain compression going? :)
Are you using a compressor or anything? I'm just wondering cause it sounds so tight.
Really fucking cool. I keep coming back.
Gooood!!
woooow!! by the way how did you do the drop at the beginning of the video??
How do you write the midi notes? Is there a chance to import already written midi files onto Octatrack via CF card. And what are these awesome base ? :) From analog keys or samples from OT?

omer kunul çok teşekkürler. yani bütün patternleri mecbur octatrack üzerinden yazıyoruz.
Just curious how your handle the eq on this. Sounds great
super :)
yesssss
Awesome work! Just curious, what sounds are the octatrack actually creating?
Nice job ! First and last question for me : I've been searching for such a bass sound for quite a while, what synth does it come from ? Quite positive I haven't read it below... please help. ahaha !
Noyceeee. I have to try one analog keys. Do you think the texture would fit a quite decent acoustic drumset ? Would it punch or not that good ? mmmh...
Sweeet
this is great. how are you side-chaining sounds with the octatrack?
thanks!
Drums come from tr-8 or elektron? amazing performance :D
***** Thanks :D Your sound quality is very good, make more performances!
Nice work my man. Are you still enjoying the octatrack?
where is your album?
3:04 hot hands! haha
Don't you wish you had 20 arms sometimes? Nice work btw! :D
pro :)
LIKE !!! JUST LIKE !!!
COME TO BAKU !!! WE WILL MAKE CONSERT
Great Sound ! What compressor use for this pumpin' sound?
pretty positive it's a faux gate/sidechain effect coming from the octatrack
krakou2 This "faux gate/sidechain effect" is a factory preset in Octatrack? I not see in user's manual.
haha can't decide if you're pulling my leg or not, especially considering that the manual is s***.
