Hello JC. When I login to start the app or the website of Starlink and I do what you suggest to get the support ticket. I don’t see the question saying “Did this answer your question?” Or the like / dislike icon. Also I put down a preorder payment for the kit. Does that mean I’m in the waiting list? If so how long should I have to wait? Because I live in Puerto Rico. I haven’t received any email in two weeks. Is it possible you can answer my doubts? Thank you.
I have an issue where Starlink is going back and forth Offline then Online. I opened a ticket after navigating as you suggested, but it wouldn’t go through, so I then switched to cellular to actually send the ticket. Worked like a charm and a new cable and router are being sent out now. They got back to me within 15m, truly caught me off guard and was a pleasurable experience. Thanks for all you do J ❤
Originally I signed up with Starlink and handed over a deposit and waited . . . . and waited . . . . eventually I was away from internet connectivity and when I returned to the world and a city with connectivity I found that they had dropped me out of the Queueu because I didn't get back to them in 10 days, Anyways AI said that a refund was in order, but when I checked my bank account, they had accidentally charged me another $160. Fast foreword a few more months, I've assumed that this money, $320 is lost. But I really do need this connection so I ordered it through a different person in order for the AI to stop screwing with me. We finally have a starlink dish hooked up, but after about a year it just went down and again I am hopelessly stuck, this is where Joseph and his tutorial comes in to save the day!!!! Yipppeeee! I hope.
Just an update: I did solve the problem yesterday. The internet had been down for 30 days. Funny thing is that it would light up 2 lights on my 1st Generation satellite box, you know, the irregular shaped white thing. The Dish would also lock on something straight overtop of it when re-initialized. Anyhow, the problem was the location that we provided back a year ago. . . . . apparently after roughly a year it decided that it wasn't accurate enough because it was about 30 km off target and we were locked out because of that. Anyhow re-entered the right exact GPS location and now everything is fine. Out of curiosity I thought that I'd try to collect the money that they had not refunded, Actually it was $129 x 2 . . . but they just told me to bugger off (in AI terminology) but really I don't care. The internet service is worth a lot way out here.
Worked for me. I had a return that was outside the order date, but inside the actual delivery date. I was able to create a support ticket, and got a response with an RMA less than 15 minutes from submitting the ticket. Thanks! Relieved!

For about an hour, I was having an interruption every 3 minutes from my TSFJazz stream in this this Florida Sunday afternoon. As per your tips I submitted a ticket, then I immediately got an automated report stating that I haven’t had any obstructions in the past 2 hours. I knew that. But to my surprise, my issue was immediately resolved without an explanation nor human response 😲. I think that we’re getting AI support😂. Thanks for the tips.
"My Order is Ready, but I'm Not" is no longer in the menu, but clicking the "thumbs down" button on another trouble shooting question, I was able to open a New Ticket ! Great stuff !!! I sent two detailed support requests and on both occasions I received a canned/FAQ-style response within 24 hours, but by that time I had already resolved the issues myself. Most issues that people seem to deal with is either faulty cable, or user-error, or user-setup error.
Maybe beneficial to advise your listeners to take pictures of computer screens when first setting up account including all purchases. I was able to recover by doing the option forgot password but I had pictures of all my information. Ps I also take manual paper and pen notes. Yes I am over the hill in my 60’s and learned that a paper and a short pen will save you most of the time. Cheers. Love your topics.
I keep paper backup of all accounts and passwords. Google, Microsoft and others can decide to lock your account at any time and any saved passwords with it. I don't think its an age thing. I suppose it's more common with older people. I'm 40 and keep notes. For me it comes from being in the military. I learned to keep notes on where I was and what repairs on what equipment daily because later if I got blamed for a bad repair I could whip out my notebook and say "no sir, I was at x on that day working on y so that is not my repair." Saved my but several times.
I sent a whiny complaint about the price increase along with lower quality service and received a canned reply the next day. The reply had nothing to do with my complaint. So…I sent a reply complaining about the “canned” reply. That was a week ago. So far no more replies. I just want to push back on the nonsense
I also did the same thing. We sent a message complaining about raising the rate when our speed is low and latency is high. Now suddenly the speed test function no longer works, not to mention I can't even see how much data I have used when it is working. I'm really starting to feel abused. I was checking speed in latency daily, latency would be up in the 50s and 60s. The statistics it's no where near accurate. I'm stuck with my investment of purchasing this equipment and I do not have reliable internet!

I had a problem with a friend that was locked out and a novice. I put the ticket in on my starlink account and explained the problem NO INTERNET but connected to wifi (it turned out it was the cable thanks to your video) anyway long story it got fixed but it was a month. I did not see your video about the cable melt until weeks after. It all worked out, my firends got a month credit. But it was painful since they had no internet for a month and they loved starlink vs hughes but then the melt down happened. And I was the one that get them connected up with Starlink. Growning pains. Cant wait until in become free like GPS access.
Thank goodness for you Kelly and being able to help them out. A month is a very long time and should never be that longer. They’ll get better over time but for now we need to do everything we can to keep the service work and working well.
So I have had really good connections for months on my solar independent cruising boat in MX. Then I lost it while getting warranty phone support on my autopilot 10 hours away from any cellular connection. I needed to get that autopilot support expedited as I am leaving in less than a month for a nonstop passage to the Marquesses… I sailed and motored like a mad man and dealt with the autopilot call on cellular. Now I’m working on Starlink. Is there a 12 Step Program for Starlink… 😜

I have a sad tale to tell you Joseph. I currently use RV service since residential service is not currently available in my rual area in Oklahoma. I am on the waiting list for residential service when it comes available. I was able to reach them to ask if I could use the hardware I purchased for the RV service since it is the same as residential. They said no, but I can sell it and buy the same hardware to get residential service. I asked them if I sell the hardware, what can they do with it? They said they can use it for residential or RV. I asked them if I could sell the hardware to myself then and they said no because I would lose my place in line if capacity is reached with current waiting listers. I was very apauled. I was wondering what you think about this strange story. Love the content you create.

And on a 2nd note, My fiber internet service was installed yesterday and on my first speed test it instantly pegged the needle at 100 Mb and then on to display 348 Mb downhill with 15 uphill. To anyone that is ordering Starlink, if you have a landline telephone Do Not use that number when ordering. Use a cell number that can receive text messaging, A text message is required if the password recovery using email is not successful.
Thanks for the content about contacting Starlink Support. Oddly enough I need to because I added a Starlink Mesh Router and a Starlink Ethernet Adapter to my current Starlink Mesh setup (router plus one mesh and your TP-Link EAP225 and OC300 stuff - works great! until today) ... so before I try to contact Starlink I will look to you for a solution because I trust your information I plugged in the new mesh router and then paired it as instructed. The process killed my Mesh1 router and now Mesh2 router is active. I have tried re-setting Mesh1 with no luck ... it doesn't even get recognized yet alone pair. Also my DNS settings are screwed up and none of my Ethernet setups will work ... isn't there a couple of videos you did that explaian how to resolve this? Would you point me to the right content please? Thanks Joseph
I would reset everything from the mesh APs to the Starlink Router to the OS300 etc. and start from scratch. Start with the Starlink router only and make sure everything is working and then move to add one at a time into the loop to see which unit break things. My two cents. 😉
Yeah about that... My service price keeps going up and quality has gotten so bad I can't get on the internet. Submitted ticket got poor response Weekes later and still asking for help daily because I am seeing speeds of .4 mbs to maybe 10 on rare occasions. This is a problem. Unfortunately for me my home is in an area that I can't get any better from anyone else. Starlink was better a few weeks ago but not any more. Now back to going to McDonald's to have my kids do homework for school and paying ridiculous amounts for broken service that customer support sucks!
I know this is going to sound pretty basic, but have you tried restarting your starlink? I don't know what happens to cause this but restarting mine has fixed this problem for me more than once.

I canceled my startlink account. I cant deal with the flexuations in speed, data caps being added after I made my purchase, and the cost with no support line pushed me over the edge. When I canceled my account I got an email to send my equipment back to them, which I don't understand because I purchased it. Sent them a support request, and after 2 weeks still no response. No thanks not dealing with this!
Hey Joseph been a while. I am still trying to get my service back. Starlink is the worst company I have ever had to deal with and that's including AT&T and Directv. I now have 2 complete systems here and neither one is worth a crap because of customer service on their end. I have did everything that you have said here but they keep marking it as SOLVED when it hasn't been. So I am going to try again but if I don't get it these dishes and routers make a good fire.

I sent any ticket. They didn't respond for 2 weeks. Sent in a second ticket asking if anybody was out there? Got a response unrelated to my question. Play told them they could have been helpful but they were so much more. And then they customer service call me back on the phone to tell me there would not be service for 1 or 2 years in Southern California.

Starlink hasn't replied to my 2 tickets in 24 hours. I have no internet, and work from home. It's absolutely ridiculous that a company that big doesn't have a proper customer service....
I've been lucky with my version 1 round dishy. No problems at all in over 2 years. But I'm dreading the day when I experience hardware failure. Starlink's customer support is an absolute joke. They really need to implement some kind of 24/7 phone or chat support.
How do I clean my Starlink? The radome surface uses pure Teflon, allowing us to have an extremely slippery and hydrophobic surface. You may use a microfiber cloth and glass cleaner, like Windex, to gently clean your Starlink. Please do not spray any paint on the radome surface or cover the unit with a cloth or other material. This will impede the Starlink's ability to shed snow and rain, resulting in severely degraded performance in severe weather conditions. Off the shelf hydrophobic treatments recommended on the internet for other company's satellite dishes such as NeverWet and RainX are not recommended. Did this answer your question?
Two weeks it took them to answer the last time, not very good. Watch out for the customer support questioner they send out a couple of days after your issue was resolved. There's only one question and one grade, you can't split your satisfaction with the answer given and the overall customer experience. So the grade you give should reflect the whole experience (including horrendous waiting times). My experience is that the support you (eventually) get is usually quite good, its the waiting time that's the problem.
I can log in, but my account says I have no location on file and need to add that before I can manage the account or see my order. It gives me no way to add the location. No Thumbs up or down in the comments. Sooooo frustrated. The only think I can think of is to send a letter to the address on their invoice.
I've went back and forth over the price increase and they answer that in hours. I doubt they are that strapped. Any mention of price or related complaint they answer fast. Need legit help and it can go weeks without answer.
@@jcristina in general. Slow to respond to anyone. Anyone with an open ticket that needs help, I bet if they add to it or open another about the price will get answered faster. Not saying it's right. Just saying is all.
For the amount of money at play, there is zero reason for Starlink's Support channels to be this god awful of an experience. I've worked as a support person myself, and can tell you they don't cost a business that much money, while instilling good faith for future business and client retention. There is no way I could recommend doing business with Starlink in good conscience until they start to prioritize support more seriously.
In my opinion personally it has not improved, it conveniently got worse when I complained about them raising the rate. It's almost like I'm being punished! Speed is low latency is high and outages are frequent. In all reality I was doing better when I was using my phone for a hot spot.

I opened a ticket after navigating as you suggested, but it wouldn’t go through, so I then switched to cellular to actually send the ticket. Worked like a charm and a new cable and router are being sent out now. They got back to me within 15m, truly caught me off guard and was a pleasurable experience.

I had the same issue and when I submitted my ticket I got the same response but they sent it within one minute of my submission.
Originally I signed up with Starlink and handed over a deposit and waited . . . . and waited . . . . eventually I was away from internet connectivity and when I returned to the world and a city with connectivity I found that they had dropped me out of the Queueu because I didn't get back to them in 10 days, Anyways AI said that a refund was in order, but when I checked my bank account, they had accidentally charged me another $160.
Fast foreword a few more months, I've assumed that this money, $320 is lost. But I really do need this connection so I ordered it through a different person in order for the AI to stop screwing with me. We finally have a starlink dish hooked up, but after about a year it just went down and again I am hopelessly stuck, this is where Joseph and his tutorial comes in to save the day!!!! Yipppeeee! I hope.
Just an update: I did solve the problem yesterday. The internet had been down for 30 days. Funny thing is that it would light up 2 lights on my 1st Generation satellite box, you know, the irregular shaped white thing. The Dish would also lock on something straight overtop of it when re-initialized. Anyhow, the problem was the location that we provided back a year ago. . . . . apparently after roughly a year it decided that it wasn't accurate enough because it was about 30 km off target and we were locked out because of that. Anyhow re-entered the right exact GPS location and now everything is fine.
Out of curiosity I thought that I'd try to collect the money that they had not refunded, Actually it was $129 x 2 . . . but they just told me to bugger off (in AI terminology) but really I don't care. The internet service is worth a lot way out here.
Worked for me. I had a return that was outside the order date, but inside the actual delivery date. I was able to create a support ticket, and got a response with an RMA less than 15 minutes from submitting the ticket. Thanks! Relieved!

As per your tips I submitted a ticket, then I immediately got an automated report stating that I haven’t had any obstructions in the past 2 hours. I knew that.
But to my surprise, my issue was immediately resolved without an explanation nor human response 😲.

I sent two detailed support requests and on both occasions I received a canned/FAQ-style response within 24 hours, but by that time I had already resolved the issues myself. Most issues that people seem to deal with is either faulty cable, or user-error, or user-setup error.
Maybe beneficial to advise your listeners to take pictures of computer screens when first setting up account including all purchases. I was able to recover by doing the option forgot password but I had pictures of all my information. Ps I also take manual paper and pen notes. Yes I am over the hill in my 60’s and learned that a paper and a short pen will save you most of the time. Cheers. Love your topics.

I keep paper backup of all accounts and passwords. Google, Microsoft and others can decide to lock your account at any time and any saved passwords with it.
I don't think its an age thing. I suppose it's more common with older people. I'm 40 and keep notes. For me it comes from being in the military. I learned to keep notes on where I was and what repairs on what equipment daily because later if I got blamed for a bad repair I could whip out my notebook and say "no sir, I was at x on that day working on y so that is not my repair." Saved my but several times.

I also did the same thing. We sent a message complaining about raising the rate when our speed is low and latency is high. Now suddenly the speed test function no longer works, not to mention I can't even see how much data I have used when it is working. I'm really starting to feel abused. I was checking speed in latency daily, latency would be up in the 50s and 60s. The statistics it's no where near accurate. I'm stuck with my investment of purchasing this equipment and I do not have reliable internet!

I had a problem with a friend that was locked out and a novice. I put the ticket in on my starlink account and explained the problem NO INTERNET but connected to wifi (it turned out it was the cable thanks to your video) anyway long story it got fixed but it was a month. I did not see your video about the cable melt until weeks after. It all worked out, my firends got a month credit. But it was painful since they had no internet for a month and they loved starlink vs hughes but then the melt down happened. And I was the one that get them connected up with Starlink. Growning pains. Cant wait until in become free like GPS access.
Thank goodness for you Kelly and being able to help them out. A month is a very long time and should never be that longer. They’ll get better over time but for now we need to do everything we can to keep the service work and working well.
So I have had really good connections for months on my solar independent cruising boat in MX. Then I lost it while getting warranty phone support on my autopilot 10 hours away from any cellular connection. I needed to get that autopilot support expedited as I am leaving in less than a month for a nonstop passage to the Marquesses… I sailed and motored like a mad man and dealt with the autopilot call on cellular. Now I’m working on Starlink.

I have a sad tale to tell you Joseph. I currently use RV service since residential service is not currently available in my rual area in Oklahoma. I am on the waiting list for residential service when it comes available. I was able to reach them to ask if I could use the hardware I purchased for the RV service since it is the same as residential. They said no, but I can sell it and buy the same hardware to get residential service. I asked them if I sell the hardware, what can they do with it? They said they can use it for residential or RV. I asked them if I could sell the hardware to myself then and they said no because I would lose my place in line if capacity is reached with current waiting listers. I was very apauled. I was wondering what you think about this strange story. Love the content you create.

Oddly enough I need to because I added a Starlink Mesh Router and a Starlink Ethernet Adapter to my current Starlink Mesh setup (router plus one mesh and your TP-Link EAP225 and OC300 stuff - works great! until today) ... so before I try to contact Starlink I will look to you for a solution because I trust your information
I plugged in the new mesh router and then paired it as instructed. The process killed my Mesh1 router and now Mesh2 router is active. I have tried re-setting Mesh1 with no luck ... it doesn't even get recognized yet alone pair. Also my DNS settings are screwed up and none of my Ethernet setups will work ... isn't there a couple of videos you did that explaian how to resolve this? I would reset everything from the mesh APs to the Starlink Router to the OS300 etc. and start from scratch. Start with the Starlink router only and make sure everything is working and then move to add one at a time into the loop to see which unit break things. My two cents. 😉

My service price keeps going up and quality has gotten so bad I can't get on the internet. Submitted ticket got poor response Weekes later and still asking for help daily because I am seeing speeds of .4 mbs to maybe 10 on rare occasions. This is a problem. Unfortunately for me my home is in an area that I can't get any better from anyone else. Starlink was better a few weeks ago but not any more. Now back to going to McDonald's to have my kids do homework for school and paying ridiculous amounts for broken service that customer support sucks!

I canceled my startlink account. I cant deal with the flexuations in speed, data caps being added after I made my purchase, and the cost with no support line pushed me over the edge. When I canceled my account I got an email to send my equipment back to them, which I don't understand because I purchased it. Sent them a support request, and after 2 weeks still no response. No thanks not dealing with this!
If you send the equipment back they will be responsible to give you a refund. So if you don't wanna keep it, I'd jump on that offer.

I am still trying to get my service back. Starlink is the worst company I have ever had to deal with and that's including AT&T and Directv. I now have 2 complete systems here and neither one is worth a crap because of customer service on their end. I have did everything that you have said here but they keep marking it as SOLVED when it hasn't been. So I am going to try again but if I don't get it these dishes and routers make a good fire.

I sent any ticket. They didn't respond for 2 weeks. Sent in a second ticket asking if anybody was out there? Got a response unrelated to my question. Play told them they could have been helpful but they were so much more. And then they customer service call me back on the phone to tell me there would not be service for 1 or 2 years in Southern California.

It's not my card that is the problem, I called my bank and there were no declines on the card. I've been searching relentlessly for the elusive phone number/email. How do I clean my Starlink?
The radome surface uses pure Teflon, allowing us to have an extremely slippery and hydrophobic surface. You may use a microfiber cloth and glass cleaner, like Windex, to gently clean your Starlink.
Please do not spray any paint on the radome surface or cover the unit with a cloth or other material. This will impede the Starlink's ability to shed snow and rain, resulting in severely degraded performance in severe weather conditions.
Off the shelf hydrophobic treatments recommended on the internet for other company's satellite dishes such as NeverWet and RainX are not recommended.

Two weeks it took them to answer the last time, not very good. Watch out for the customer support questioner they send out a couple of days after your issue was resolved. There's only one question and one grade, you can't split your satisfaction with the answer given and the overall customer experience. So the grade you give should reflect the whole experience (including horrendous waiting times). My experience is that the support you (eventually) get is usually quite good, its the waiting time that's the problem.

I can log in, but my account says I have no location on file and need to add that before I can manage the account or see my order. It gives me no way to add the location. No Thumbs up or down in the comments. Sooooo frustrated. The only think I can think of is to send a letter to the address on their invoice.

For the amount of money at play, there is zero reason for Starlink's Support channels to be this god awful of an experience. I've worked as a support person myself, and can tell you they don't cost a business that much money, while instilling good faith for future business and client retention. There is no way I could recommend doing business with Starlink in good conscience until they start to prioritize support more seriously.

In my opinion personally it has not improved, it conveniently got worse when I complained about them raising the rate. It's almost like I'm being punished! Speed is low latency is high and outages are frequent. In all reality I was doing better when I was using my phone for a hot spot.
