- The beaches of Ko Phi Phi Islands and the Railey peninsula are framed by stunning limestone cliffs. They are regularly listed between the top beaches in Thailand.
Phi Phi Leh island is famous as location of the movie "The Beach" (Leonardo DiCaprio). Phra Nang and Railey West are located on the Railey peninsula and are accessible only by boat.
Recorded February 2015 in 4K (Ultra HD) with Sony AX100. Edited with Adobe Premiere Pro CC.

@@JosephKarthic Just seen this, sorry. Back in '93/'94 when i was out there video cameras were not something one had. I only had a 35mm wet film camera,,no digital,,how I would have liked to be able to record what I saw and experienced. I have photos but no videos but thanks for your interest.

My daughter and her family are traveling the world and I follow their footsteps on RUclips and all other media, but I also watch your magnificent videos from the same places - but sitting at my computer - with a view to the Baltic Sea right outside of my windows! In this way I’m also “traveling”, although I won’t be able to join them anymore. But I had my share of the world traveling, so go for it out there, learn languages and be wise about life. I’m an old lady of 75 and I still learn and enjoy life and the wonders I explore every day not only via the media.

I was there in 1988 backpacking tourist. It has changed a lot. I wouldnt want to be there nowadays. Glad I have it in memory from then it was gorgous. 🙏🏻🌊🌟

Thankfully it’s empty now from lockdown which should really ease pressure on the landscape from tourists.
Thank God,I have been there 16 years a go. No boat there cause forbidden to enter Maya bay. No many tourist. So no noisy. Still peacefull. Now.....Maya bay become beatiful and peaceful again because of COVID 19.
@@tomlo1432 for now....will all be back to normal once covid ends!!! Maybe even worse than ever as people from all over the world scramble to take a break from the madness they've had to endure...only to find themselves in another one while attempting to have a holiday!
Ay Bee Depends on the economic climate, but their will certainly be a boom of tourism within the next few years.

Amazing Places on Our Planet I was there, coming from Switzerland, thr 3rd week of February, because then I went to Nayang. Before I visited Phuket and all around, Koh Pi Pi, krabi, Koh Jum etc.. Best wishes for your next trip. RMarie

Phi phi is thailand's gem...
The tall and enclosed rock formations give feeling of seclusion but the amount of people there defeats the purpose..

Excellent video with great background music. It's sad to think that many of these beautiful and peaceful beach communities in Thailand are vulnerable to massive tsunamis. Fortunately, such massive tsunamis are rare.

It's been already mentioned by others but the footage quality of this video is really great! Do you use any colour correction in the post-production?
+Hat off lab Color and white balance I would touch rarely, nut the highlights and the darks sometimes need correction as sunlit and shadow areas together present problems

I've been to Thailand 4 times and loved it. I went this year in early February (stayed in Krabi) and sadly Maya Beach is closed. The previous time I was there, it was crowded so its not a surprise that they closed it off). I love Phi Phi Don (and the amazing viewpoint) and Phi Phi Leh Lagoon. Phra Nang Beach at sunset is amazing and I love West Railey beach as well

I visited Thailand four times in the 80s when a late teen and in my early twenties.......unbelievable to see how populated it is now......back then it was like we had the whole country to ourselves.....never any foreigners who were not young backpackers and nothing but thatched huts for lodgings.....it really was a special time and I have wonderful memories from those days.....I wouldn't want to go back to see it like this......such a shame but I guess it is good for the Thai people so that is one bonus from the mass invasion of the aged travelers

We love phi phi, the village is super cute and has some good nightlife and is the gateway to some of the best beaches we have been to.
FYI the boat tours are cheap as chips. We paid $80 for a private long tail tour around Maya Bay 😍
