you can make that much smaller and less drag on the motor if you ran one belt to the motor and voltage regulator.

If you added an automotive voltage regulator, it will keep the voltage the same.

Any "one wire" "self exciting" automotive alternator will produce 14 volts with or without a battery attached.

It would have been impressive if you left the treadmill together and ran on it to run the light, you could run the treadmill motor faster than the setup here.

What's wrong with using a battery to run the light off the motor stator?
