I feel the urge to come back and watch this every few weeks.
+CZsWorld I watch this at least once a day lol
twice an hr lol
every hour on the hour
CZsWorld 100th like
Still goin back
There is nothing more beautiful in baseball than Wrigley Field. Look at this evening, the sunlight, the atmosphere.
Mercy...what in the world...
Came here after his 488 ft shot for the Phil's tonight. Playoff super power strength...my goodness.
Me too. How far was this one?
@@montello33 I'm not sure actually?
Me too. When they said it was his farthest ever, my first thought was the Budweiser sign HR. I still think this one was crushed harder.
schwarber-fest 🦢
"Mercy" "What in the world"
One year ago today. Happy Commemorative Kyle Schwarber Home Run Day. Get well soon Kyle.
And did he EVER!!!!!!
This young man definitely eats his Wheaties.
+RemediedYawn He's been eating his RizzOs
I get chills everytime I watch this. We miss you Kyle
Don’t mind me, just came back to watch this after I saw Rizzo’s HR off the Budweiser sign...
:(
As a Cardinals fan, this guy is always a scary guy to play against. His swing is so compact, plus his quick hands and raw strength, he can absolutely MURDER the ball.
you can barely see the baseball. on the first look, look underneath the tv scorecard. it's on the bottom right of the tv graphic. you can see it as it comes back down over the sign. If you look just to the right of the number 4 for game 4 nlds, it pops out right next to it on the way down / out of the ballpark.
+Cubsfan122112 It's so hard to see, but according to the Cubs, the ball landed on top of the scoreboard where it still remains. The Cubs are going to put up plexiglass to protect it. m.mlb.com/cutfour/2015/10/14/154428196/kyle-schwarbers-game-4-home-run-landed-on-scoreboard
+argyjr It was Beautiful!!! I lost it in the lights. Quite Kingman - like.
The best part of the video is the reaction by Joe Simpson and Dennis Eckersley after the ball flies out of the stadium
It actually landed on the Budweiser scoreboard
Yea buddy, still there to this day
@@justincaldero5174 they took it down, ftw.usatoday.com/2016/01/kyle-schwarber-home-run-ball-wrigley-field-chicago-cubs-mlb
TBS needs to broadcast MLB post season games again
Only real chicagoans know it actually landed on the score board. And they encased it until the end of the playoffs.
They should’ve left it there forever
That CUB 2015 season. man. Wrigley crowd was just 'RABID'!! on every pitch. It was like a 'boxing' match. You hit me & I hit ya back!!
The umpire's reaction is priceless. LMAO!!
I’m NOT bull shitting I’ve seen this over 150 times. It’s my favorite Cubs home run ever by my favorite Cubs player ever and against our Cubs enemy number one. I remember when he was called up on his first game I had them custom make a Schwarber jersey for my son. Who actually looks and bats like Schwarber except right handed and obviously not as talented. But still a great player in HS. Which is why watching Schwarber is like I was pretending it was my son.
One of the most famous HRs in Cubs history. I remember watching this like it was yesterday. So much energy at Wrigley, and against the Cards no less. Perfection.
Just beside where the Baseball landed is Jose Bautista's game 5 bat.
sorry, they didn't make it to Wrigley.
I can watch this over and over and still be amazed.
I'm a White Sox fan, but Schwarber and Bryant are two of my favorites
"WHAT in the world?"
That ball went to the solar system
Talk about him being a DH in World Series this year?
HE WILL PLAY !!!!
He'll hopefully be a hero for us in Game 6!
Slugger Wiffleball League LEGEND OF SHWARBINO
He was... and it was amazing.
He has risen.
Came here tonight after seeing Kyle hit one damn near out of Atlantas new stadium. 99 RBI and closing in on 50 HR for the season. Worth every penny ! Glad he’s on my Phillies !
8 years ago tonight! I was there with my brother cheering on our Cubs! Eliminated the Cardinals and when Schwarbs hit this Ruthian shot everyone of us sitting on the first base side, our heads turned up and to the right….FAST! Great memory ⚾️❤️
If that was in Pittsburgh his ball would have reached the cathedral of learning
cubs clinched the division last night. here's to more moments like this ready to come!
Just wish Schwarber was playing
I know. How good would they have been with his bat in the middle of order this year? Next year this team will be even scarier.
Alex Patt he is now! Lets go
John Melton we'll see now ;)
I went fucking nuts when this happened
HES BACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
JGaming 21 I CAN'T WAIT
I'm not a Cubs fan, but it will be a THRILL to watch this guy in the WS
And he delivered! It's been flabbergasting, watching him these last couple days.
JGaming 21 WORLD CHAMP BABY YEAAAAAAA
Yep
What a shot! Go Cubs Go.
Dave Kingman still holds the record at Wrigley, but you've got to hand it to Schwarber. The man is a beast.
Who is watching this in March 2021, one year into Coronavirus Pandemic. Let's start the NCAA March Madness.
I hope he hits a World Series home run so I can stop watching this video every week.
wow ur so cool
i hate how ur stupid unfunny comments are at the top of the video just because you have a check mark
wish granted
He did. In 2022
Man this guy has uncanny effortless power like I haven’t seen in a while.. before anyone get upset I’m not saying he’s the greatest I’ve seen. I’m a cubs fan yes but not even being biased, he has crazy bat speed and short bursts of power which is hard to do it’s usually natural. he’s not like some of these other guys who have these long drawn out power swings or are just huge or really tall. When he connects it’s majestic and people remember like the one of off of cole the whole crowd went silent cause of how far and high it went lol not to mention that bat flip or the time he literally dented the wall from that single to right in the nlds in 17. I miss baseball so much right now :/ Anyway safe out there everyone hope you’re all well through these crazy times were living in.
Is that the one where the ball aqctually landed on top of that right field scoreboard and never rolled off and afterwards, they decided to encase that ball in a plexiglass case to perserve it up there and its still up there today>??>
]
Wish I could hear the Pat Hughes call of this one.
the beauty of his swing
The announcers are completely dumbfounded
Does this dude do anything besides jacking massive home runs? Holy shit Schwarber... what a series.
Schrades09 yeah he does. He does PEDs.
Schrades09 he ripped a 465 foot deep center field at Busch Stadium just a few games ago
Just imagine how good the Cubs will be next year when this dude is back in the lineup! This team may go on a run like those Yankee teams from 1996-2005.
My grandpa has a friend that taught him in little league baseball
Well you got your wish early he's back at DH in Game 1.
He made an impact while just appearing in 4 games. Fully healthy, the Cubs will be even scarier next year when they go for it again.
John Melton no they won't
Specterling no they weren't scary at all they were average
That was a monster home run, but nothing compares to the home run Gledallen Hill hit. Hill sent one to the apartment rooftop across the street from left field. Dave Kingman sent one to a front porch, three houses down the street from left field.
+Joey Brooks There were also no video boards back then. Without the video board, Schwarber's ball would've hit one of those houses.
Am i the only one who likes to watch this twice a day? lol
I'm here constantly. Still gives me goosebumps
2016 was a special year
Thank you for everything Kyle.
It lanes on the Budweiser sign. They put a case around it and stuck it down.
8 years ago wow
If you watch carefully at the 0:07-0:08 mark at the slowest setting, you'll find that the ball actually landed under the "W" in the Budweiser sign. It'll barely appear for about a couple frames or so.
I was there for that game. It was incredible!
same!
I Had No Idea That was Going to Fly Out of Wrigley! Love the MLB on TBS Crew Calling the Games! Well, ESPN Take a Look at This TBS Highlight!
See you all in 4 more years when youtube recommends this to us
I'm here because I forgot how much of a beast he was till last night.
The Schwarboard! I love rewatching old clips.
He’s with the Phillies now, but this homer was his most memorable as a Cub, IMO.
watching this in prep for game 1 tonight
I remember this! I was at the game! We all thought that ball was on the street.
When I first watched this I could sort of sense that the tide was about to turn in the rivalry and that the years of the Cardinals' dominance and the Cubs' suffering was about to end
Guess again
SLR107FR31 won the World Series the year afterwards and went back to the NLCS the year after that while winning 95 games the year after that. Guess again how?
From the few videos I've seen of Babe Ruth, Schwabers swing and jog around the bases looks kinda similar.
I love how the Binnys champagne ad comes up when Schwarber hits one out. Its either excellent timing or very snobby...both I could get into.
+Ben Ray its just random timing. that was an advertising board so it does through different products and Binny's just happened to be on it.
I seriously doubt it. It played during both Rizzo and Baez's homer.
His HR in the wild card game against the Pirates is my favorite followed by Miggy's grand slam against the Dodgers.
I can’t believe this was 8 years ago
you know its a colossal shot in any ballpark when they say "that one went over the Budweiser sign"
It actually landed on Tom of that sign/scoreboard...but, a majestic shot nonetheless!
a young core and theo continues to keep them together
Who else came here after Rizzo hit the Budweiser sign?
His nickname is schwarberries
"Mercy." "What in the world?" It's a SchwarBomb. The word you are looking for is "SchwarBomb".
Man I miss him😢
Why didn't they show the ball resting atop the scoreboard.? Twas impressive, not Kingman or Hill, but a bomb nonetheless.
When the pitcher doesn't even look up 🤣
I cant remember which home run was more painful that entire series. Bryants off Wacha, Soler off Wainwright, Baez off Lackey or this one.
Scwarber was promised a large pizza if he could hit it out
Schwarber's swing reminds me of Reggie Jackson.
"And Schwarber sends one high and deep WAY BACK! AND THIS BALL IS LOOONNNGGG GONE?!"
A shame Schwarber is out for the year now, I was looking forward to seeing his long home runs in 2016. But the cubs are deep enough to fill his void.
he might comeback during the world series and knock a pinch hit bomb, just imagine
Albert Vilorio right now the giants and cubs are the two best teams in the N.L right now, could be this years nlcs but the cubs putting a stop to their even year magic
I wish he could come back in the world series and knock one out, all classic-baseball-movie-style - but I don't think it's really possible. We need to have a postseason roster of 25 active players and 15 secondary players, and I don't think Schwarbs will be on the active roster.
You're only allowed to swap players from the 25-man active postseason roster and the 15-man secondary squad if someone is injured - so it's *maybe very remotely* possible that someone would get hurt and we'd bring Schwarber on as a PH, but still pretty unlikely. In the current season, Schwarber is technically not even on the 40-man expanded roster because the 60-day DL removes you from that list.
Not saying that I don't think about World Series Schwarb-bombs though ;)
Blake Boyd It was a good thing that the cubs didnt trade him for Andrew Miller.
That would've been silly. Schwarbs is worth more than a couple years on a reliever contract
At the crack of a bat I saw a ball touch the sky
Here I am 7 years later in 2023 still watching this
Here in Chicago we've settled on the ball being "Schwarberized"! How's that for fitting ? Lol
FUUUKKK YEA!!!! BAMBAM BABY!!!!
Fuck yeah!!
Been waiting a long time for this!
this homer gave me fucking goose bumps when I was watching the game!
Kyle looks promising, but WINNING THE WORLD SERIES is more important! Send him to the Yankees with maybe a good pitching prospect for Miller AND Chapman! THIS is the ALL IN YEAR! Everything is clicking this year. That might not be the case next year.
This guy has unreal power. Glad the Cubs stuck with him!
Not anymore in 2022
It didn’t leave Wrigley it landed on the top of the scoreboard
Beast mode...Purely a clutch play!
Go Cubbies!!
bandwagoner
Douche-bagoner...
+RUHI4 hahaha
Sox should have never let him go.
More satisfying than any Barry bonds home run
One of The Best Games... HR fest at Wrigley... A Crowed deprived of postseason play ....awakened
in 40 plus years watching the Cubs I have never seen an entire stadium stand immediately after a ball was crushed. Probably has a little something to do with beating the crap out of the Cardinals. Beautiful!
Kerry Wood's home run in game 7 of NLCS was louder
cauchamar He’s saying that Kerry woods hr was louder, which it was.
I was at this game. I've never seen a ball hit this hard in person before. Scary to know someone can do this with a wooden bat.
“What… in the world???
Wait til my boy come back Cubs gonna be even more lit
Man I hate these damned scoreboards Ricketts put up! You used to be able to see where the balls went. Like Kingman's up Kenmore Ave.
Kyle is still doing it in 2022 2nd behind Judge in homer’s
I heard the ball is still traveling! It’s fun been #12!
Goodbye Kyle 😭😭😭😭
Even the umpire was amazed by that one
representing our hometown well!!
Crushed. A bomb. Great video.
How many feet was that one? 500?
He will be missed
This was only a solo shot, but it took all the morale away from the cards for the next innings.
