Bow technique as good as it gets. Masterful colle', fluid wrist, well balanced frog to tip. I've made this video a staple of the pedagogic aspect of my teaching.
Best on RUclips by far! And only 912 views - what an outrage! People don't know what they are missing. You have inspired me - I just started learning this! :-D Such a lovely piece!
Amazing cadenza. Smile more. It won't add to your musical performance (which is already very good), but it will brighten your performance visually to the audience. If you look like you're having fun playing this piece, the audience will enjoy it more subconsciously.
Wow! Excellent! How'd you learn to play so beautifully?! Im almost 17 and Im NO WHERE CLOSE to playing like that!! And how do you overcome your performance anxiety?? Cuz I have that terrible issue. I wish you well in your future of music.
Holy hell girl. Rock on. Although music composition was my major back in college, I managed to perform this. You actually put some college students to shame with this performance, me a college grad included. Awesome stuff.
well this another piece to add to the list to teach myself.... lol... do u have any tips for a 'cellist whos teaching himself viola? anyway... AMAZING PERFORMANCE!!!!!!
strange is that, that in the first page where there were some double-strings moments you had i little problems with the intonation and on the 3 page where the double-strings are almost all the time and are much more difficult you were perfect....but if we forget that your performance was great....Congratulations!
wow pretty good for a viola player.. (she was just a finalist? sheesh who got the prize, this is amazing) wish me luck I'm auditioning on this and using this vid as my model.
your cadenza makes me die.... in a good way. if there was a song called "my favorite things", it would probably go something like "cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels, door bells and sleigh bells and SMBMAK's cadenzas", or something like that.
Viola power

Loved that piece. Hope I can play like that some day.
Using this as a reference to learn the piece myself. Thank you.
@Violanerd6 it is the international publisher, editior Milton Katims. The cadenza is by Charlie Pikler, I think written for my teacher.
Beautiful tone, viola and performance!
