There's a lot of maintenance required on the railway especially with jointed bullhead track. But the sound as the trains roll by is worth it.

Nice video. Quite informative..currently on a level 2 6-8 week rail engineering and track maintenance course at Rugby college so absorbing similar vids to these complementing our studies
used to work for BR then known as SWT. Worked as a guard then as a second man on night engineering. helped to lay in wloo international, the big bridge, mitre jcn and other stuff as well. Miss that job....
Neglect your PW, And it will come back to bite you very severely, As other railways have found out recently , Its probably one of the most important bits on the railway, but does need to be kept up to scratch
