I drove these when brand new, they were horrendously slow and particularly dangerous at Hardengreen Roundabout as they had been screwed down to be even more economical. Shame the timetable wasn't adjusted to match their pedestrian performance compared to the other B7RLEs, 5 hours on the 49 on a Sunday was hell. They fitted a heater under the drivers seat making it too high for most drivers and all the seats were recycled leather (if I remember rightly) so the interior had a weird smell. The 11-plate B9TL were also screwed down when new. Its possible that the new regime at LB has returned them to standard performance settings.
