One of the most annoying things in this game is how your ai party memebers keep on breaking that armatization... they would be much more safer (in most cases at least) if they just kept armatization on...
so.. i've been using the japanese dub while i encountered the dark turtlez and i'm pretty much surprised at the huge difference between the voice acting. from cute to mature lol
I've just cheesed this boss to death so if anyone's struggling here's how: 1) Pick any(*) set of characters and control the one with the lowest HP. Dark Turtlez will always focus the lowest HP character. Set everyone to Go All Out / Focus on weaknesses 2) Run around trying not to get hit when he charges at you and let your team fuck him up. Try not to run towards your allies or he will hit them instead when you dodge. If that happens, switch to the new lowest HP character and continue. 3) He WILL hit you a few times with Blade Waltz or something like that. It's very difficult to dodge. If he one-hits you, switch to the lowest HP character and continue running. Make a fighter use Life Bottle to bring the dead one to life and continue switching chars according to their HP (Wait until the boss is far from the body or he will just kill them again) 4) Profit. (*)My characters were around lvl 60 and I hadn't finished the game yet. To be honest I never fully understood the battle system because it's a fucking mess so there's probably lots of genuine ways to kill him and an optimal team to make this strat work. For example, I don't think Lailah is good for this one because she misses most spells while Dark Turtlez is running.
after past halfway mark on Zestiria, i felt like a drag to finish it..and almost at the end, this happened..I'm so glad because at that moment, i was just ready to give up...the first Tales games that made me want to quit at the half point..Zestiria..man oh man..

I'm level 46 in Zestiria with like 1300 hp and with 400-600 in the stats of my characters (from the stuff and skills i have), in Xillia 2 level 42 i have like for some character between 2200-2800 hp with better stats etc...and with so much more artes to use (and good arte as well to use), because Zestiria with the mage you can do just one thing, spam magic arte (because doing some close range arte is just useless, so you are just spamming with mage...damn) and for like Sorey just 4 arte and that all...damn that is some improvement right here! Man i hope they will not screw up with Berseria, otherwise i will stop playing the next Tales of game.
and is it just me or it is harder to chain attack in Zestiria?? i love the mechanics in Xillia and Xillia 2 where you can chain attack with your party...it makes me feel like wel, to have a party to fight with..now it just 1 character.. you are right, really hoping that they didn't mess up Berseria..at least, we will know the animation cutscene will be awesome~~!!!

(for example you can chain just 4 attack in the begining, but after doing some real bullshit thing with the skill system with your stuff, you can chain like 5 attack now or even more, but the system himself is just...garbage). I'm like in the middle of Tales of Xillia 2 right now (i will have in a short of time the chromatus level 2, and damn finally a Hi-Ougi with this, this will be great to use now for some giganto), and i can just myself do like between 50 hit with no chromatus, and with the chromatus i can easely do like more than 100 hit, in Zestiria with just Sorey having like 20+ hit is just an achievement... And like 2 days ago i was playing Graces F (on Japanese too), and god damn this game is so much more fun too to play for the speed and chain you can do (just with Asbel and Hubert when you do your combo in the right time, just switch between those two and with some blast caliber i did like 150-200 hit in my combo, just damn dood). With games like Vesperia, Graces F or Xillia 2, Zestiria have no excuses to have a battle system so bad, so limited.

How do you get to this boss and Sorey's alt. outfit? It's hard to track my quests because I'm at that point in the game where all I can see is the main story quests so I don't know what to do. Help?
This boss is close to endgame. If you've talked to Turtlez on Great Camelot Bridge where he's figured out that Dark Turtlez has gone to Katz Korner, then you're set. When you return to Elysia, grab Gramps' Pipe off the shelf in his house after reading his letter. Head to Ladylake (the noble quarter) and save the Katz from the bullies, and if you have Gramps' Pipe, talking to him again should trigger the teleportation to Katz Korner. You can return from there to Ladylake anytime afterwards. MAKE SURE YOU'RE READY FOR THIS FIGHT. It's really tough. As for Sorey's alt. costume, you can find it when one of Rose's talk options is about if it was okay to bury Mayvin in Lohgrin. Head to Lohgrin, talk to the NPC(s) with the side quest bubbles over their heads, then head to Trizolde Cave. After talking with the seraph there, you should unlock Sorey's alt. costume.

However,it wasn't a fun fight or even that satisfying,I just wanted to be done with it!
ToX2 rip-off for sure. Zestiria parodied Julius' final test against Ludger and Berseria was Victor battle. Btw, does this guy still uses that "No Itemz Ever!!" in Zestria too? Or is that just for Berseria?
is this the hardest boss ? I suffered 29 min fighting this boss and I fear to fight against edna brother and the wyvern if it's gonna be as hard as him.
I've beaten him first try at lvl 55, I didn't even know there would be a boss fight xD, I let rose tank his mystic arte while I dealt damage from afar.

I beat this guy at level 60 on normal difficulty (he was level 99) using a All Divide. It was literally a 25 minute fight.

It's near the end of the game you can enter this area. You need Gramps pipe and show it too the Katz and you'll enter the area.
