I had tears in my eyes while watching them live this summer with my fiancé. I had a profound moment, as I had survived addiction and I celebrated 4 years clean and sober. Their show was transcendental. It took me 17 years before I got clean at 30. I’m 34 now, so that was half of my life. I discovered Phoenix in 03 when I was 14, and I have never stopped listening. I love you guys so much.

That's exactly the point. Some bands are doing music but will never age with their fan cuz their music isn't good enough.. Bands like Phoenix are amazing.. they really dig deep into music to make it easy to liste, but it is so hard to compose ! Clearly an inspiration for my indie rock project i'm launching right now !
The video referencing the visuals of Caspar Friedrich's "Wanderer above the sea of fog" is so fitting with this song. Feeling like you're on the precipice of the new, disconnected from everyone else, lonely but still ready to take the leap into the unknown...amazing.
"did you ever think it could have been in our lifetime?" is how i feel about this song, and being lucky enough to see and hear it live.
I had the same epiphany thinking about Alpha Zulu as a whole too. Like I was lucky to have been born in a time where this kind of music exists.

This one definitley passes the vibe check fors sure. It's one of those tunes you can just get into focus really easily, or just vibe with your loved ones, this live was amazing i'm glad this was released early.
