    i think stobe did survive after saving everybody,but was badly damaged so he crawled to the side of the mountain where he had a nice view of a lake and mountains and took his last breaths on that specific spot. if you move the camera to stobes pov you will se a decent view but the lake dried up long ago. he might have not even died immidietly since you can still see barges all over the ground in his view.

      @@_--Reaper--_ it was more of a symbolic breath,also it makes the story better. another thing yes it could have been sentemental since robots do have feelings in the world of kenshi. thats why some of them get depressed,can feel emathy and even go crazy. stobe survived the massacare of obidience,most likley hiding out somewhere,and the pure fact of his disobidince can suggest that he wasnt an ordinary behemoth,had the capacity for empathy(saved the humans)forgiveness(forgave the humans) and was sentimental since he forgave his creators. so yea stobe was definitly enjoying the view.

    I think one of my skelly bois mentioned that the deleting of their CPUs is a myth. A convenient one used to distance themselves from the events of the collapse of the first n second empires. I may be remembering that wrong tho.

    • @KubinWielki
      @KubinWielki 3 года назад +58

      Yeah. The whole idea of "Skeletons don't remember what happened." is a ruse. It's *heavily* evidenced when you have a skeleton in your party, as they'll have snippets of dialogue pointing towards their full remembrance of the days gone.
      Hell, when you go to World's End (as a skeleton) and talk to certain skeletons, they'll flat out tell you that "you don't have to worry" and that they'll "keep the history hidden so noone knows what skeletons did" etc.
      I really love how Kenshi approaches its lore - there are internal misconceptions and false truths, and various people believe different things, but you, as the player, are given sufficient information to draw up a solid conclusion, without being told specifically what actually happened.

    • @SHDW-nf2ki
      @SHDW-nf2ki 2 года назад +15

      I think there is a grain of truth to it. From what I've seen and understand the Skeletons don't HAVE to replace their CPUs but some DO either because they don't want to remember or because they think it will spare their sanity.
      Some definitely have memories, if you encounter Kat-Lon for example he has a mental breakdown at the sight of you and references his empire.

      Based on some things said by the developers of Kenshi, they're expanding their dialogue systems - presumably for the purpose of quests - for Kenshi 2, which is currently in development.
      Since Kenshi 2 is supposed to take place roughly 1000 years *before* Kenshi 1, one can presume that all the ancient lore will be a bit fresher in the memories of people, and less of it will be lost, so hopefully we'll be able to explore the world of Kenshi more in-depth.
      Though I also hope that there'll still be a lot of mystery and speculation left - it'd be weirdly out of place if suddenly everything was 100% explained).

    • @hiiambarney4489
      @hiiambarney4489 3 года назад +11

      Well. don't need much imagination if you read the books and all. Sometimes, just sometimes, it all comes together beautifully, like the Legend of Luquin. You read about his troubles, the Nobles obliterating his parents while he could flee only for him to become a legendary assassin and kill a noble. Then there is a final poem, where he writes about Emperor Tengu and how beautiful and great he is, really out of character. A hint is given that this was written in tengus vault and he is likely dead. Go there and you can find him imprisoned, ready to join your group, should you free him. Really cool stuff, especially that last poem, that makes you feel super smart when you put things together.

    There is also a Theory that it was NOT humans but Skeletons that launched the missile to destroy the planet. Seeing as the Skeletons were winning, and had far more control over the technology than Humans did. Additionally it is hinted at that the skeletons are ashamed of something, something that they don't want the humans to know about, and fighting for their freedoms is not it, I think it was actually the skeletons that launched the missile, and Stobe stopped it, and halted the war. It is my opinion based on the lore I know, that Stobe was both the savior of the skeletons from servitude at the hands of humans, and the savior of humans from destruction at the hands of Skeletons.

    • @Lorenzo4350
      @Lorenzo4350 Год назад +5

      Also notice how "the ark" sits right next to the missile and Stobe's corpse. It's plausible to believe that this ark wad supposed to be some kind of device to save humanity from the destruction. Maybe all humans in Kenshi are the descendants of people who survived aboard the Ark. Over time it got abandoned and forgotten, getting eventually occupied by the Reavers.

      there was no source to say that, but i think it was not. stobe i think, have separate story, because if we talk about okran, we should talk about narko, the enemy of okran.
      narko was potrayed as female traitor, that using skeleton army to destroy humanity. this explains the hatred toward female, and skeleton. the hatred towards non human was based from another source that said shek and hiver, was actually made by skeleton to support them. in this case, i think okran and narko was a religion system that arise during cat lon era,and era when skeleton was the major ruler in kenshi. this means it was after the destruction of old empire, and after stobe sacrifice event.

As the Okranites became increasingly xenophobic toward outsiders and oppressive to women, they would depict their female god as more and more of an antagonistic force, until it was so utterly demonized that everything they despised was her fault and everything good was because of the male god.

      @@dashiellgillingham4579 their hatred towards skeleton and technology can be traced, but their hatred towards women are unknown. untill now i cannot make a concrete logic that explains narko is female, aside from okranite writing.
      my only speculation, are this "narko" was female shek warrior. shek adress themself as "demon" to strike fear in enemy (if you build base in shek territory, you can notice this line when they threathen your base)
      i personally don't think shek can lead skeleton army, but for the opposite? probably yes, consider look like this, one female shek warrior, strong and efficient warrior, under command of skeleton leader, can give false assumption that the real leader was actually the shek, and followed by skeleton (in older combat, leader is on the front to inspire his army, assuming shek reckless combat nature)
      this logic makes more sense than human female leading skeleton army, but again, it was unbased, so only rough speculation.

    The part about them having to erase their memory was a myth; several encounters prove this. Most of all, if you're a skeleton and you talk to the one at World's End (2nd in command of the Mechanists if I remember correctly) he actually says not to worry, he'll make sure humans never find out what really happened that caused the collapses of either empire. Also, Cat-Lon clearly remembers everything and Tin Fist also hints that he remember everything from both empires. After all, he hates Cat-Lon for what he did during and after the second empire (thralling).

    I can’t shake the feeling that most of the lore is a false narrative. I like the theory that the second empire was responsible for obedience and Stobe sacrificing himself. The locations of both would suggest this. It would also make more sense since Kenshi is a moon and has never been shown to be important since no one ever came back to try and reclaim it. Seems like a constructed history supported by a lot of skeleton lore.

It wouldnt be strange that they went into some sleep, and left some AI shoot it constantly to try and destroy all skeletons on the surface. But as we know it they only appear in specific parts fo the map. So i also believe that either the AI got the targeting wrong over time, or a glitch perhaps.

    motivation does not wash the blood from your hands. Great Cat Lone....a tragic hero, savior of his people from the shackles of slavery in the first empire. moved by guilt for what he did to his former torturers, savages, cannibals, hunger, depopulation, disappearance of technology and cultures.... driven by redemption of guilt, he became the one he had fought against before, motivated by goodness and compensation for what he had done. why don't you want to be controlled as a human being? you will have something to eat, they will take care of you, you will not have to make decisions in difficult events. simply obey... like many who now to this day guard their former emperor, their savior and hero... without their own will that was stored in their heads. Skeletons, despite their own will, differ from a human's own will and the abstract nature of the will. despite their own will, they are more logical beings for whom solutions are sometimes too simple, especially when they haven't cleared their heads for a very long time. and when exposed to human actions, they are ineffective, irrational... we feel sorry for them because they have human features and similar behaviors, so should we betray our own race? We look at all this through our cultural shoes. we want to destroy slavery, we want to destroy the fanatical religious sect, we want. kill the stupid phoenix, see how in their madness and anger the inquisitors massacre women who wanted to reform the state, kill the inquisitors, see how their lands are devoured by foogmens and cannibals (you kill inocent people... woman's, children's where they go? they will fight, and they lose, they will be devoured in the brutal rituals of the princes). kill the evil corrupt lords and the emperor himself. see what will happen to their lands. chaos, bandits and reavers. All you cared about was freeing the slaves......... this world is ruined. our civilization was founded on slavery and the lack of rights for women and children (even in Greece, the capital of philosophy). prosperity is achieved through hard work and great sacrifice even of one's own humanity when what matters is the survival of the species and the memory of ancient times that are recorded in the stories of the holy empire only to be cultivated and never forgotten. They are starting from the ashes, if they achieve prosperity, there will be time for reforms. They have worse things to worry about. The day will come when the Phoenix and the Emperor will shake hands and understand each other to create a new dawn of humanity. YOU AND YOUR MORALITY IS THE WORST ENEMY OF THIS RUINED WORLD.

      You think your evil way somehow justifies all the atrocities when that is exactly cat-lon’s greatest sin, he wanted to save his empire so he thralls, opress, and silence the dissenters much like the UC and HN and look where it got him his empire now lay in ashes, the same is also happening to UC and HN with UC losing mourn due to slave revolt the very thing the UC relies on, the rise of the desert rebels caused by making being poor illegal, and the raids of tinfist, he knows that evil like this will not last forever and at best can only be prolonged for a limited time, like his brother’s empire it too will fall due to its evil and cruelty so he tries to destroy the UC as fast as possible so that mankind may try to redeem themselves, and the HN look what happened they lost many of the female population decreasing their overall population growth, they forbid the usage of prosthetics because they somehow believe it makes one evil forcing those that would be able to contribute to society to not be able to, and they lost the hub and a city near the fog islands due to them declaring a two front war, evil in kenshi do not last this is seen by how the first empire was destroyed when they betrayed their creations and how the second empire was destroyed when cat-long try to become a dictator, even then fools that justifies evil and cruelty will somehow believe that this “necessary” evil will be the one that saves us this time, this time we will not be destroyed, until of course history also takes them

      @@rizkyarya3086 I say that motivation does not justify doing evil. I don't understand if your statement was in opposition to mine. because I thought I included the morality and justification aspect, but not from the perspective that I personally agree with it, I am against it. But i agree with you anyway. I also meant that in such a backward world, where everything was forgotten, including culture and morality, due to the problem of survival. eradicating evil by force will lead to further regression. the only green areas with farms and fertile areas are HN. the main producer of building materials, furniture, ceramics and useful items is UC thanks to an economy fueled by slavery. By destroying them by force and motivated by doing good, we will lead humanity to extinction. The solution is to wait for the right moment for reforms. Therefore, I believe that modern player morality and inconsistent justification of our actions (due to lack of knowledge about the consequences of our actions) will lead to the fall of humanity.

      Some of it comes from the dialogue and some from books. When you're in towns, in bars, sometimes people will talk to one another and tell stories - not all of them are lore-significant, but some have truth to them.
      If you have a skeleton in your party, they'll have a plethora of dialogue reactions when you visit different places and - probably more importantly - different dialogue with NPC skeletons, that points to a certain dark mystery that all skeletons seem to be in on...
      And when it comes to books, prime locations to get them would be World's End university, and - if I remember the town's name correctly - a book shop at Spring.
      Gathering all that together, one can piece Kenshi's story together, or at least some parts of it.

    LOL the fact that you think skeletons reset is actually amusing, while yes when playing any race other than skeletons that is what their historian will say. but if you play as a skeleton and speak with him he will basically admit to remembering everything. the trader in black dessert also almost lets it slip when you speak to him sometimes. they were responsible for both calamities and they remember it all. catlon ruled after the first calamity along with tinfist but tinfist escaped enthrallment leaving him slighty crazy agnu was also almost completely enthralled hence him also being crazy and unable to speak. Just know that skeletons dont go crazy from not reseting in actual fact the reset is just a myth so that the other races dont realize they are responsible for the calamities.

      They also know what the satellite weapons are if you have some in your party. 'The Eye' is a the weapon itself.
