I will say- Riyadh Air’s livery is among the best looking ones out there. And in an industry where standing out and separating yourself from competition is everything, a stunning livery is a promising sign.
Makes far more sense than any dark color heating up the plane even more in hot environments. Curious, how hot would a dark purple aluminium or composite structure become in typical Saudi Arabian weather?
@@mytravelvlogsandscience2418 since the country is the biggest in the middle east, and population is around 30M, more than 6 times the population of gulf countries combined.. One national carrier is merely not enough, and a lot of Saudis and tourists use other carries in the region such as Emirates, Etihad and Qatar. Saudia Airlines can't serve the whole country and will focus on and be based in Jeddah entirely (its hub is originally there). Riyadh Air will be serving Riyadh (1000 KM away from Jeddah) a city of around 7M and anticipated to reach 12M in the coming years.
I think this is a good move for Riyadh Air to use this plane as a technical spare aircraft since they will be using this as a backup or for charter flights.
you mean a second hand B787-9 salvaged for spares & parts . . . accessing spares & parts from Boeing for a particular airframe has never been a problem since the mid 1990s . . . thanks to Boeing's unique network of MRO distribution centres worldwide & licensed third party aircraft outfitters . . . the B787-9 will most probably be used for both pilot & cabin crew training . . .
I hope they will change the omans airway seats configuration. They are not comfortable at all. Business and economy. If they kept them , all the Maybach feeling is all air.
Why does it appear uselessly complicated? Two liveries, different aircraft usage, layouts etc etc. Emirates, though full service, aced with fleet standardization, simple livery yet a good interior and comfort to passengers. At the end passengers want comfort and safety from Point A to Point B, not just cabin crew dressed in Haute Couture of a pretty looking aircraft.
they are using this aircraft to get the certifications, and conduct tests ..etc. But not at all complicated, their fleet consist of 787s and 321 neo, that's it. the white livery is the standard one, the all purple one was used for promotion only and will not be used on standard aircraft if ever. The layout has not be revealed yet, it will also be a standard for all aircrafts depending on their size just like other airlines.
I think it’s about how thick is the design. I think air canada has a pretty sleek design, Riyadh air already has a complicated livery and the mask adds to it.
I have a feel that Riyadh Air is gonna be a big flop. Too much hype about another Middle East airline adding nothing new to the market and financied by an oil-based dictatorship country.
For now, they are actively trying to make a big name, for example the 3rd largest football stadium in Spain has their name under a sponsorship (Riyadh Air Metropolitan Stadium). Will it work? Who knows. The Gulf countries already have a well-established international hub market with Emirates, Qatar Airways and Etihad, but Saudi Arabia is missing and wants a piece of the cake too (currently Saudia only serves local connections), time will tell if there is still cake to be served for them, or if they come too late to the party.

You must living under ancient rocks to not see all other companies with better livery
the white livery is so beautiful!

No fully commercial company could afford to do this
Of course it is sponsored by the govt
The govt wants riyadh air to be as big as emirates, qatar
@@thegoat486what happened to Saudi Arabia’s national carrier Saudia airlines?

one of the the best this company ❤I want to work in this company 🥰
Best of luck to Riyadh Air.
Really.... it is a quiet a charm I must say.

@ something like that
Why don't we simply write ETOPS and EROS qualifications instead of all the gibberish. 😂
@@jantjarks7946 You mean EROPS I guess and non of the comments have those two abbreviations as topic sooo... is your comment wrong here? lol
I love autocorrect. One day people will lose their life because autocorrect knows better. 😂
And no, I meant what I wrote. 😉
Some companies have too much money.
It’s the country … not the company.
That’s a good looking plane!
I figured this plane would be a super luxury plane for someone in the Middle East to play with.
It's a good move I Loved it
Wooo ❤❤
How transparent of them. They really are set to take off. Meanwhile Global Airlines has no update since acquiring their first A380 model.
their A380 was sent to Portugal for final maintanece recently

Maybe they can use this aircraft for training crew purposes.

Quite the extravaganza

If deliveries get delayed by Boeing, they can still launch as planned.
Yeah amidst backlogs everywhere, these guys can afford to have two dream liners just to screw around! 😮
Makes sense. Some good forward thinking that also has benefits in the near term.
When you have an unlimited budget!
When you have a feasibility study and a long-term plan*
ETOPS/EROS qualification
787 neo cockpit stripe😂
with that ex EY's CEO?......lol
La ilaha illallah
That's trash we want to experience Riyadh air aswell 🗑😔
Waste of money. The kingdom's leaders are just wasting money for nothing.
Why do you care about this?
This is the kind of extravaganza where the money we spend on gas is really going.
Just like Air Canada, I think the Zorro mask design doesn't do the aesthetic of the 787 any favours.
It’s awesome.
AC old livery was really dated

Well that is sad.
Who would trust this airline
Me
And me
I don’t any thoughts about this story 😂

They have the money to back it up. What they are going to do, is shake up the market. Prices should drop and that's good for consumers
Well, we are living a good life that you won’t even dare to dream off in these “dictatorship countries”
Too bad they’re not serving beer or some other spirits…
