I am a Saudi from the city of Hail, and we have a train station on the same line. Despite traveling a lot to Riyadh, either by plane or in my own car, I have always thought about trying the train, but I haven't had the chance until now. Fortunately, I came across this vlog filled with information that I didn't know before. You are literally a tourist, but you provided me with an excellent picture of this train, and now I am seriously considering making my next trip to Riyadh by train. Thank you for this amazing coverage and valuable information. Welcome to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia!
Tourists open our eyes to things about out own country that we never got to find out about. This train and railways in KSA was quite a revelation to me and very impressive. My father was 33 years in the service of the Indian Railways and everything railway is an attraction to me.
What they gave you at 4:25AM is not breakfast, we call it "Suhoor", it is a meal before fasting, which means we stop eating and drinking Before sunrise until the sunset,That's why we have to wake up and have a meal to get ready for the day,I saw in the description that you made this trip in March, this was actually the month of Ramadan, at this time most people here are fasting, so they will serve this meal to everyone, even if they know that you are not a Muslim or fasting, they will give it to you cuz this is polite, but whoever don't want to be disturbed he/she can tell the employees in advance that she/he does not need this meal, BTW on normal days, this meal is not served so usually we have breakfast after 7am, not at such an early time as this. thank u for this great video,I wish you the best
Hi thank you so much for the information! I took this trip 2 weeks before the start of Ramadan. So I don’t think the early meal time was for fasting. 😅
I am Saudi, and I have always wanted to travel by this train from Al-Jouf station to Riyadh. For the first time, I see an experience with the train. It looks wonderful. Thank you.
Beautiful video showing a train where we usualy don't think of rail travel.I am not moslem myself but I apreciated the prayer to Allah that you show on this video.I think it is very respectful for other passengers and for the country where you are travelling.I hope that they we'll find a way to introduce a kind of public transport between the stations and the city centers. The train looks great and very clean.Thank you again for this very interesting video.
There’s a 6-line metro network currently under a construction in Riyadh and is expected to open later this year. There’s a line from the airport to the city but no metro is going to this train station 😅
@@RoryDing I found it very unfortunate that Riyadh's comprehensive metro covers almost everywhere important in the city including the south train station but missed this one, hopefully a good bus service will run between this station and the airport and/or the closest metro station (which are not very far)

Riyadh is challenging for the World Expo city host in 2030. As the official capital of the kingdom and the seat of the Alsaud dynasty, they're revamping a lot of things over there. Jeddah has always taken the spotlight over them for decades now.
Found you on my notifications link. Your video is very informative since I'm kinda new here at Dammam (4 months) and planning to go to Riyadh someday via this newly SAR train. It's such a relief that it's also safe to travel alone and they highly prioritize each passenger's comfort. Kudos to you! Keep making videos like this here in KSA. Very safe. My friend routinely uses the train to and from Riyadh for her studies. I've used it multiple times as well. Never faced issues and staff/passenger accommodate those around them.
Simply brilliant, Rory! I lived in Dammam, 38 years ago, close to the railway station in the Madinat al Ummal area. Couldn't go anywhere beyond the city, leave alone taking a camera. Life seems to much easier in the Kingdom, these days.
