Its been 14 years, and ive watched this again for childhood memories
I watched this SO often as a natural disaster addicted child. For some reason I fervently wished for an F1 to graze my house because it would be "cool". Also, the silo falling over after that F4, satisfying still

My childhood in a nutshell. I watched this and other tornado videos all the time.
That was some amazing animation there, I still remember watching it somewhere around 2012.

This video is what got me into storms and about 8 years later or now I want to be a professional storm chaser!
One thing i see with a lot of animations is, the diameter of the tornado changes as the tornado strengthens the size and width of a tornado dose not directly determine the tornado's strength. For example a wedge could hit someone's house and only do EF 1 damage.
or a rope could hit someone’s house and do ef5 damage.

Nice animation. It real shows how each kind of tornado is stronger when it's bigger.
Tornadoes don't get stronger the larger they are, in fact the El Reno Tornado of 2013 was only rated EF3, even though it was the largest tornado ever recorded. There are also tornadoes that are quite thin, like an EF4 of which was a rope tornado. Don't ever think that tornadoes are stronger the larger they are.
@@bfdifan2763 El reno could have been rated EF5 because of the winds on radar but never hit any houses with those winds so ;-;

@@GamerDevXD Yes, the el reno did have winds over 295 mph, though the damage team didn't find anything to support EF-5 damage. Also, tornadoes don't need to be massive for an EF5 rating. When I was four I would watch this and other tornado videos literally 24-7, I'm ten now and of course I watch different things but I still remember the tornado videos I always watched. I sometimes go back and watch them, too.

Me and my siblings were watching this like 4 years ago in my parents bedroom at night, and we kept laughing at it and saying "Okay, okay this time I won't laugh" but then we would burst out laughing when the f5 tornado would pass by.

Everytime I watch this video (I've been doing so on and off since I was 12...I'm 21 now) I always find myself rewinding between the F3 and F4 because I'm never ready to see how dummy thicc and flatout terrifying that F5 is. ☠️

EF0: Very weak, but it is very fast.
EF1: Weak, still quite fast.
EF2: Average strength, average speed
EF3: Above average strength, below average speed.
EF4: Powerful, but slow.
EF5: Deadly, but it's very slow.
A tornado's speed is not judged by its intensity at ALL. Sure, they may seem fast or slow in these animations, but it is not like that in reality.
F5 can be 6 yards wide to 2 half miles wide, some where in between that an the smaller diameter tornados, they can change direction an shape drastically.

Like a year or two ago there was a ef 3 tornado that was just a few miles away from our house and it didn’t hit our house but it was really scary. But it did destroy a few homes and a giant antique store that was over 100 years old and although nobody was hurt or killed a few dogs where hurt but no fatalities. The people that where hit by the tornado described the sound as a giant steam train coming though at full speed ahead
I like how the family kept rebuilding tornado after tornado and it never occurred to them to move after the first one.
