thank you great tips..
These are really great tips! I actually love to shoot the overall first and then work my way in. I think you said the opposite. To each their own though - it doesn't matter as long as we get the shot! :) Great tips!

Great video as always!
Awesome! Thank you!
thank you for sharing your knowledge
Beautiful reception room! Although I was able to get most of the elements you mentioned in my very first wedding reception shoot, I didn't think to get a couple of them. One thing I'm learning is to use is RUclips videos like this for tips BEFORE I embark on a new project or shoot. I'm saving this in my "Photography" favorite videos. Thanks!
Thanks for the words of encouragement! We're glad we can help!
you are so right about that!
These were great tips even for a videographer like myself thanks a lot
love it!!
Shoot through for the cake...nice!
Michelle- thanks so much for this EXCELLENT tutorial. I'm doing more and more photography and its slowly becoming paid! :0) Tomorrow is my first official wedding as a second shooter. Thanks for laying out some essentials to make sure I am focused on the top priorities! I simply can't wait.

Awesome
Great tip on starting small and working out (aside from the full room shot of course). This will help with the mental checklist because it would be habit to work in the same sequence.
yeah, keeping a pattern is a good habit. there's too many things going on as it is right?
thanks, very helpful
Great job producing this very informative tutorial,
Thanks!
sweet vid.. I'm a rookie in the game but I like good info. Thanks
nicely done Michelle, I like your 7 must have elements
I'll put it to use when I book my first wedding shoot ;)

That was very helpful! Thanks a lot!
any time Rationalific
Great piece Michelle.
thanks R. Dennis Crawford !
awesome
very nice presentation
Not even mention about the speedlite which is apparently in those pictures
Hi, like the young lady before me, I just photographed my first wedding, and I thank you guys for the videos you provide on RUclips because they certainly help. one problem I faced was that while capturing the room shot, there were a few people moving around. I did get my shot though. thanks again young lady for those outlined tips you provided. Thanks also for talking about the lenses you'd recommend.
Are you still doing Weddings?
Some beautiful photos!
Great video! I like how you mentioned tripod necessary for whole room pic, but what settings would you recommend all other pictures. ie shutter iso fstop etc. Are they the same as whole room pics? Thanks! (currently shooting canon t5i)
great
Tnx
Great tips. What kind of flash do we use on these shots? Do you use a soft box or bounce flash?
Awesome tips! Did you use flash?
I curious, do you use a macro for your ring shoots and small details or still something like a 85? Thanks!
For the full room shots what wide angle lens you using? Do you also go for a macro lens? Or just sticking with 85 1.4 and alike? for detailed shots that is?
What lens would you recommend to capture full room? Thank you
Would please explain the lighting setup of this video.. I mean there is no spill of light on wall and the subject is in proper light
Hello Mrs. Ford. Could you add the lens you use for each setup. Thank you in advance.
Do you use flash when taking detail photos?
osam tutorial
Very good tips and well put together. The only critique is about how your youtube video was shot; your second (close camera) is at a bad angle so It looks unusual. You should either put it dead center as the wide shot or move to more sideways.
I have never been to a wedding with a giveaway table..... Is this something new? Great video
Cilla Latte NO. It's actually favors not giveaways. Lol
Well she said giveaways and I am like I have shot weddings and I have never seen a giveaway table... Hey it's ok everyone makes mistakes LOL no judgement I thought I would ask cause I wasn't sure :) thanks for the reply.
Ever thought of using a drone to take few shots of wedding from above? :) just a thought
Legally- Anytime you use a drone you need a specific certification for that you event. never would you get the OK to shoot in a room with people
@@tanille89 Fast-forward two years and you can use a Mavic Mini to get the indoor shot without any issues, prior to the guests entering the reception hall/room.
What dress does the photographer wear? Formal or informal black?
Do you work in LA?
ofaaa
Michelle at 1:19 there was a sovereign citizen behind the wedding cake!
Nice video. But relax girl, you are doing fine there is no need to rush like that. LOL
Sweetheart table??
My first time hearing that term as well. To me it looks like where the couple sits by themselves and not with the bridal party at the "head table." I always referred to this intimate setting as, "the couple's table." I do have to say I like her term better and I may adopt it.
My thoughts are, the camera that was used to capture your close up, should have been the one to have you stare thru instead of giving that job to the camera that was for full body. Just sayin... Nice tutorial tho
The ‘banquet captain’ 🤷♂️
My pix dont ever come out that way
I think I just dozed off.
Marry me.
It's like being taught photography by a scared baby.
please keep your comments constructive ... there's no need for name calling here when we're all trying to improve our photography
please be so kind and show us your awesome tutorials and photos before you go on criticising the content from other people !
best regards, andreas
out ! ;-)
Yo! It's a quote from "New Girl" Commenting on her big beautiful eyes. Sorry Pi
lol guys, i'll take the compliment as i look young ;)
RUDE comments not needed
You need to show how to take the pictures instead of talking toomuch .
Satheesh Padmanabhan gotta know what you need to shoot before you learn how to shoot it :) she knows her stuff, makes my head spin a bit. And people wonder why photographers charge what they do
5 minutes talk a lot of details
