I will say without any hesitation that Madhumati is my best movie. I cannot falter anything in that film. All exceptional. VJ and DK outstanding. VJ mentions in one of her short interview that she does not think that this movie can be repeated. I fully agree. I am very sure the juries must have had a very hard time in selecting best female playback singer among those singers, Lataji being the most prominent of all. Those were also the days when great MDs like SJ, Ramlal, SDB, Roshan, Chitragupt, Naushad, C Ramachandra, Ghulam Mohammed, Madan Mohan were around! Also most of them chose only Lataji for their best songs, thus she must be having songs worth winning best playback award year after year!!! Today when we sit back and listen to her very old songs we find that Lataji put her best efforts in singing every song by way of her voice purity, range, breath-control, sur control, imparting required bhaav. And after her dedicated musical journey of seven decades with incomparable body of work, some of the the south Indians ask why Bharat Ratna was not conferred on S Janaki! It is too much!!!

I am very sure the juries must have had a very hard time in selecting best female playback singer among those singers, Lataji being the most prominent of all. Those were also the days when great MDs like SJ, Ramlal, SDB, Roshan, Chitragupt, Naushad, C Ramachandra, Ghulam Mohammed, Madan Mohan were around! Also most of them chose only Lataji for their best songs, thus she must be having songs worth winning best playback award year after year!!! Today when we sit back and listen to her very old songs we find that Lataji put her best efforts in singing every song by way of her voice purity, range, breath-control, sur control, imparting required bhaav. And after her dedicated musical journey of seven decades with incomparable body of work, some of the the south Indians ask why Bharat Ratna was not conferred on S Janaki! It is too much!!!
