Okay, I am in the late semesters of my master's in nursing. I only say this because you are the first to make it sound this easy. Thank you for this. Wish I had found you three years ago.
I love this. This video is getting me so excited to learn! Thank you for this. Today was my very first day of nursing school, and my college is on semester 2 of their new concepts-based curriculum. I have ADD and the idea of making connections based on the big picture is exactly how my brain works. I tend to “mind map” things in general, and concepts-based learning seems like that model in a nutshell? I can already tell that this new way of teaching is going to inspire me and really help me grasp everything. Can’t wait to dive in tomorrow!
I just found your videos. I am an LPN for the past twelve years and when I went to LPN school it was taught so differently than now. I am in the second semester of a RN program, and you just made this make so much sense. I will learn and look at it from this aspect now. Thank you.
thank u! my program is the only one in va doing this effective Aug 2019. we are basically guinea pigs for CBL for va board of nursing. if... when we all pass, they will change nursing programs to CBL permanently. I think CBL is great!!!! it sounds good and so far, it’s working. i dont feel as stressed
This was great! I actually suffer from COPD & Asthma so this was interesting to me. I am also an EMT and working towards becoming a PA. Thank you for your tips. They are always so helpful.
Hi Nurse Nacole! This video was great as I will be starting the nursing program in about a week and my program will be using concept based learning. This helped me get a better understanding of what concept based learning so I know what to expect!! This model actually sounds like it’ll make it easier to grasp the material and make Studying a lot easier! I love all your videos btw😊
Nice, Concept based, wished they used that when I was going through my nursing school. Hey I love what you are doing. I want to get my further degree, but I don't think I will be able to work in my desired area. I am not even being considered for the department I think the RN in charge feels I will surpass her quickly. I may, but I am not her, I do not want her job. I just want to pursue my dreams. I am being kept in Med/Surg due to them needing bodies so badly. I do not want charge responsibilities due to this place is a night mare for me currently. I know now why nurses get stressed out and quit. I am too damn stubborn to stop this, but I am actively looking for a position elsewhere that will support me in my goals and dreams. My sister had all of her further degrees paid for by her employers. I want to find an employer who will support me in furthering my degree of choice also in paying off my student loans I have so far. I just want them to be supportive and financially supportive. I do not appreciate the ratios being so difficult here. I never did more than 6 patients in Med/Surg; I have been told that they have taken as many as 8 here. I need to find a way to stop this, they are killing their ability to keep staff. They are stressing the staff to death. The boss has said we can talk to her. I will, but I do not need this discussion being a final blow to my career. You are so wise for being so young and your advice would be highly appreciated, you can private email me @ sing61_7@yahoo.com or I am on facebook if you go there. You are awesome, Love all your videos. Michele R BSN RN
Send me an email at nacole@nursenacole.com but know this, don't even give up on a dream. I never thought I'd be where I am... I just took things one day at a time, I exam at a time.

That's great to hear, thank you for sharing.
so in the CBC do you get to go to clinical on the OB or PEDs or Mental health facilities? It seems just all focused mainly around med-surg concepts.
In most places, yes, clinics are still going on. The only thing that has changed is the content presentation.

Go for understanding the the big idea concept -- you've always got great advice! :)
As always, thank you for your support.
What can you do to prepare for a concept based program?
Depending on the program, you are usually given clusters of disease processes. I would focus on their sets given in your course.
You are awesome!!💓
You are too kind, thank you for your support!
Good day , where's the concept tree?
I don't have one in this video, it's just a general overview.
You are awesome.
Aww thank you so much and thank you for watching : )

Asthma is restrictive NOT obstructive though. Great video!
I'm not sure that's 100% correct, and thank you.
