Hi, my name is Jen I am 44 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 8 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time RUclipsr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. On my channel you'll find lots of videos about drugstore makeup and drugstore dupes (those are my favorites to film!) but I also review high-end makeup as well. 📢⚠*UPDATE: The cream shadows held up really well. They didn't crease on my dry eyelids at all, which was great! To address hitting pan on the first use... this sometimes can happen with cream shadows because the product mushes around in the pan as I'm dipping the brush in, and if I push it back together it covers the spot again (Colourpop Super Shock shadows and blushes do this too). This palette contains 8.22 g of total product and her other Obsessions palettes have between 7.5 -8.4g depending on the palette. So it's not any less product than you would get in her other palettes...but I think she probably should have increased the amount because creams can get used up faster than powders do. *

Hi Jen, thanks for the video! I think these (almost) all cream palettes are an interesting concept that I wouldn't have been aware of if you hadn't shown them! Also, they may work well on my very dry skin. I'm on a no buy right now except for replacing mascara. However, I might splurge on one of these.
The only other creams I've tried were an all cream palette from Revlon in the color Skinlights; they literally lasted only 1/2 hour! However, the palette only cost $5, and they were cream, not cream to powder. And generally you get what you pay for...
I'm also THRILLED by the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Lip Shine! No fragrance, flavor, or alcohol, and what pretty colors!

On 4:00'' and 4:44'' pause the video and you can see the dusty baby pink eyeshadow has already hit pan 😉
Jen did a lot of swatches of that greige palette and it looked like that pan got more and more squished to the sides as she went through all the comparisons.

Aww thank you! I started using the new LA Girl eyebrow pen and it's been a game changer! I like it even more than the NYX one I was using because the tip is so fine and it makes the hair-like strokes look so natural! I noticed that also. Very shocking that you can hit pan so quickly. Not a lot of product for the price.
It should state how much is in each pan. With some squishy shadows you hit pan quick because you move the shadow around especially when people drill into it for swatches not because there is nothing in. But it should not be less than 0.8 to 1 gram or you will actually empty it in under a year w regular use
I checked and it's the same amount of product as her other palettes. The creams just mush around to the sides of the pan while I'm picking them up and if I push it back toward the middle, it covers the pan again.@@lisabailes1065

I was the one who asked for the Petals en pointe, and thank you! Even thought it is not a dupe, that comparison shows the depth and undertone really well. while i've never tried anything from huda beauty, i do love how they're always innovative with their eyeshadow palettes and try to implement different textures (for better or for worse). i've been getting more into cream shadows recently and both of these colorways are my kind of cool and warm tones, so i'm definitely keeping an eye out for these.

I feel like this was Huda beauty's version of a k-beauty eye product. Just with the toppers and how subtle it is, I'm getting korean beauty vibes. But at probably double the cost of an actual k-beauty eyeshadow palette.

I like that this is a smaller palette since cream shades tend to dry out. I would be so disappointed paying for a larger palette and having the cream shades dry out while the powders were fine. This soft look is beautiful. Great job!
The rose pallet had cream shadows and was mix of matte as well reason why her rose pallet was hit noone was doing that back then as well makeup forever and was 99 bucks before natasha or pat sold their pallet and tarte had one amazing one it was very lux and tarte discontinue it .
I think that an all cream eyeshadow palette is very interesting and unique. I’d be interested in seeing how they last all day? I have hooded and slightly oily eyelids.
They did last all day on me, but I have dry hooded eyelids so I'm not sure how they would fare on oily lids.
These are gorgeous - That first look from the greyish pallete is really up there with one of my favorite looks that you've done 😀
We've been asking Patrick Ta for this for years. Seems like a lot of attention went into these with the setting shade, trendy toppers, muted undertones (vs the orange/pink matte obsessions.)
Your blush looks orangey warm on you and the grey colors look plum and lavender in the first look.
Yes, I have that issue with cool toned blushes...because my actual skin is so cool-toned, even cool blushes can look warm on me unless they're almost straight up purple. THEN they look cool toned...it's so strange! But if someone with warmer skin used this blush, it would look cool on them.
Both very pretty but I have a lot of her palettes and a lot are very similar but not interested in a cream shadow. Thanks for sharing ❤

I'd guess a lot of other lines will come out with similar palettes if this seems to sell well.

While both look great, the cool toned palette looked absolutely gorgeous on you. And the lip color is just so beautiful on you. One of the best looks I’ve seen on you ever.

The natasha denona glam is so pretty. I kinda want it but i dont like apending money.
I wonder what the actual shelf life would be for these palettes. Are there really enough preservatives to prevent spoilage? Will the palette even last 6 months?? For those of us with a large collection of palettes, we may realistically get 3-4 uses before the shadows turn. Only time will tell 😮 Once again, thank you for such a thorough review!

These are amazing. They are literally formulated to either create a full look with multiple shades and a brush, or even as simple as using your finger and doing a one and done look. They can blend out easily with your finger. You don’t even need a brush. I love her cream to powder formulas, and I would love to see her come out with a rosewood/Mauve color story in this formula 😍 I think huda beauty and Danessa Myricks are truly the most innovative brands in the market. A palette full of cream to powder shadows is my DREEEEAM 😍
They both are lovely. Thanks for sharing. But given my skin tone is a bit deeper, I think I’ll stick to my Dollsquad 2 & 3 palettes for my warm and cool neutral palettes. I also love my Iconic London Day to Slay palette. If you haven’t tried that one, I think you’d love it!

So freaking beautiful and everyday essentials. I will be getting these for sure. For those saying that she hit pan on that shade at the beginning, it’s because it’s a cream, so when you press, the shadow will move around and bunch up to the sides and caused a pan.
Also, it’s a cream formula, so there will be no point to paying more to get more product when it most likely will have a shorter shelf life than a powder shadow palette.
Pulling your hair back really added to the elegance of the cream shadow eye looks. Great job Jen, and lovely application.

Huda does have a couple of all matte palettes, one in cool tones and one in warm. I think they're mostly powder with a couple of creams. I've looked at them, but I don't own either.

Given your thorough review, I think I will pick up the cool toned palette. I don't buy that much makeup anymore, however, I DO have the Cool toned matte palette and I feel like I would get a lot of use out of the new cool toned one.
What do you think of the Cool matte palette? I've been looking at that one. I wasn't sure about it because of the 2 cream shadows.

I want to pick up the cooltoned one. I think it goes well with Pretty Grunge, Rose Quartz and the cool mattes obession. The brown one is nice but nothing special colourwise or it must be a great formula for me. But I try it out with just one. I can always pick up the other one later.
Both looks look very elegant and sophisticated on you. I like these kind of shadows way more than heavy metallic ones.
Hmm these look really interesting and innovative to me. I love both but I’ve been trying to lean more towards orangy tones, coppers and golds to bring out my eyes so I think the second one. I actually love that they sheer out too, so easy and natural. Thanks for this! I will definitely pick one up at some point. ❤

A nice video! Sophisticated and simple looks from both palettes! And no one beats your swatching comparisons. But I wonder: With no primer underneath these cream shadows, how well did they last? You did say the colors are sheer; Did they crease or smear as the day wore on? Would you be comfortable using the setting powder later in the day? On the rare occasion that I use a cream shadow, it's a stick formula (Sigma usually) that is an undercoat for powders, and the cream stick serves as the primer. I do like the cool-toned colors, but not if they won't last without creasing, smearing or fading. Thanks for the video!
They didn't crease or smear on me, which was great (and surprising)! But I also have dry eyelids so those with oily eyelids may have a different experience.
These were originally an easy skip for me, but after your video I can see these making really nice soft Smokey looks so… I think I’ve changed my mind at least on the Greige
I love the idea of these! That first look was everything I want for every day. I've never purchased a Huda eyeshadow pallette, but I think that may be changing very soon.
I really love the idea of being able to use a dark shadow as a liner and since it’s a cream, there isn’t any fallout! Even a little fallout with a deep, dark shade can really be an issue for me- making my under eye shadows more pronounced. Even when I think I don’t have fallout- I always check my magnifying mirror and YIKES- 9 times out of 10, I do! It really helps to keep that area clean and bright- and a formula like this really helps!
I remember seeing that NYX had a wonderful cream formula highlighter and eyeshadow palettes in their limited edition So Mochi collection, which came out around 2017 or 2018. If NYX would bring that entire collection back, I’d buy it in a heartbeat! That was one of my most favorite highlighter palettes of all time. It had a cool toned pink that was had a very fine shimmer that didn’t settle into lines. It was awesome! I love thinking back to makeup I had and seeing how my collection has evolved.
You know I think I'm going to pick up the greatest palette you talk to me into it. I just started watching you listening to have a lot in common and I really respect your opinion since her have a lot of the same standards as I do in my makeup routine.

Thank you for the comparisons with the grunge pallete! I haven't bought that one yet as I felt was too warm tones, and this small greige is more the vibe I wanted to try from Huda. I'll give this one a try 😊
I was on the fence about purchasing this or repurchasing the Tarlette all matte pallette since mine expired. I don't go through pallettes fast enough for the creams not to expire quickly especially for the price point. Might be worth repurchasing thw Tarte one. Have you tried Glitter Primer? NYX makes a fabulous one! It's sticky and helps the glitter to stay all day.
Thanks for the swatches! I decided to go with pretty grunge palette instead of these two - the colors from the grunge palette appeal much more to me, they seem more vibrant.

Hi Jen, those Huda palettes sure look great on your lids and they looked so easy to work with. Being very dark I don't think they would work for me but your looks came out very beautiful including the lip colors you chose. Thank you so much for such a helpful and wonderful video. I will pick this up for sure I been using cream shadows for years you go lightly especially if concerned about creases that look like wrinkles don't over pack.

FYI hi Jen, if you want your nails to grow, I use the pink gel coat line from QVC. It really works and worth every penny for me. You can get kits with the base coat, top coat and several colors.
Aw thank you but I don't like long nails...I keep them short on purpose for two reasons...one is that I find it hard to take my contacts in and out with long nails and two I'm a germaphobe and I feel like long nails harbor more germs. 😖 I know a lot of people have them but it's just a personal preference. 🥰
Essence Taupe It up can be an alternative for the grey from Huda in my opinion.

I like these 9 pan palettes. The Greige is too cool for me but I really like the Neutral Brown since it isn't *too* warm aka orange/red but isn't too grey. It's actually pretty neutral. I do my liner similarly to how you demoed but I tightline with a pencil & do the push liner with a shadow. I find liquid liner too harsh. Anyway, I think what excites me most is the dark shade that can double as a cream liner. So everything is all in one palette. Cream shadows in the past always creased or made my lids itch so I'm a little gun shy when it comes to using non pressed powder eyeshadow & the costs of eye sticks (to buy 3 or 4 for a complete look) is just too prohibitive. After more reviews come in, I might be willing to try

I really want the cool toned one. Do I need it, Nope! lol. The cool one looks a lot like the Essence mini palette that’s really cool toned.
I was a long time liquid liner user, and I switched to a gel liner. I love the soft definitiy. I also no longer do a wing, which makes life easier
