- Are you tired of those goofy goober Gondians running right past the ladder on turn 5? Don't want to save and reload and spend four hours doing this mission but you are cursed to put your hands on everything? Prep checklist (spells or scrolls):
3x Haste
2x Misty Step per character
2x Dimension Door per character
1x Mirror Image (or more)
1x Knock
1x Speed Potion
You can also use Arcane Gate, which I didn't showcase, but it's concentration and you cannot use it with Haste.

Prob the most detailed walkthrough for this mission I’ve found! Other people are showing their playthrough with 8 turns 😭 Thanks sm 👍🏼
Took me a couple tries to figure out the layout and the timing, then a couple turns to devise a "how to save everyone" path without buying any items or changing any party members. Finally, i managed to save everyone and loot ALL but 1 of the chests, the furthest one in the top corner. Wish i had seen this video, because as satisfied as i was saving everyone, dodging Mizora's surprise, and looting the parasite...i just couldnt help but wonder what i left behind in that last room
A very useful guide indeed! All Gondians saved, Duke Ravenguard & Omellum too.
You could just rock 4 monks and use the "step of the wind: dash" and spam jump, you can get from first point all the way to omeleum in one turn without using any spells or actions for the movement (except your bonus). Thats what I did, other than that, great vid to see another way of 100% this
Gods, thank you for this. I had to repeat it FIVE TIMES because if you start it without the Duke, he's just not there (and many of the people died many, many times). I'm so grateful for the help!
Yea I’ve played this mission enough to the point where I stopped caring about it so I just dimension door and Misty step around open the doors and wish them all good luck. I do make sure ravenguard lives but it’s all chances otherwise.
Having a bunch of summons is super good at this part. They can’t interact with the levers but if they attack them, it will open. I had a cambion and scorch ray can pull 3 levers at once. One earth elemental In the partially flooded room will keep all the enemies that spawn there occupied the entire time. Ice Mephits can dash on turn 1 and fly all the way to the room with 6 prisoners, then they can attack the levers to open the doors on turn 2. The problem is that if they open the door before the enemies turn. They focus the prisoners.
Thanks man really helped my honour mode run never did this before and saved the duke, mindflayer, and most of the gondians il take it
Terazul. Tons and tons of terazul. Just remember to take more every turn after all your actions etc. Also, you can shoot door switches with bows if youre out of movement.
Good walkthrough for this mission. 👌
That was insightful, I would have liked if you showed the cutscene with everyone on board though
this worked perfectly for me. ty!!
Instead of sending one guy through the back to get the chests. Just send 2 to the right. That way while one is fighting you can open the doors and afterwords go loot both chests and then run back. Make sure each person has at least 2 haste potions.
thanks for the tips
Well done
best guide on yt
Just need to get my hands on a few scrolls
Bravo!
best tutorial
Thanks
You don't have two enemies in the south but we do have them over there every time at the begging of the fight.
Lost my character, shadow heart, and omeleum but everyone else is safe so W
I thought that I read that you can shoot the door levers now, like every other lever. That should make this easier, I would think.
Yeah, that appears to be a thing added in the new patch. Not sure how useful it will be though, since shooting them takes a resource.
@@distinguishedopinions Less movement to go all the way in rooms though.
Nice guide,
Seems like you can't throw Duke's inventory anymore. Not sure which patch this was implemented but you definitely can't in patch 5, hotfix 13.
Damn shame because I wanted his sword.
Yeah, they patched it out in 4 I do believe as I noted in another video. Truly a sad day.
Whenever I shoot the spiders with volley the explosion kills Duke and shuts the door in Wyll's face. Every time.
Put a bunch of health pots on the ground around him, when they explode they will also hit the health pots and heal him, and if their high enough level health pots they will heal more then he takes from the explosion
Super confusing that he constantly switches back and forth between saying that "this is turn four" when then on-screen icon is clearly saying thats its four turns LEFT, not that its been the fourth turn since starting. And I need to go back and check but i think that Explorer mode has a higher turn limit than the other difficulties.
I've found that having 7 extra skeletons between Gale and Shaowheart saves me a lot of stress in these situations
Great video but it doesn't work anymore.
very good walkthrough, sadly 4 of the prisoners died cause they were to dumb to move, because someone was standing on the ladder, really annoying
What level should I be to do this?
Max level would be best (12), but you can do it earlier. The mission is pretty much timed, so the better your gear/stats, the better your chances.
Would magic missile work on levers?
I believe patch 4 made it possible, but I haven't tested it.
Don't know about magic missiles but regular arrows work so I assume they would
Not sure, will test soon, but scorching ray does
Why throw the dukes stuff?
Can't teleport him out apparently with dimension door if he has stuff on him. Thought right now it doesn't seem like you can get him to remove his items
The Duke isnt in mine for some reason
He won't show up if he dies elsewhere, like at the coronation.
@@distinguishedopinions I ended up seeing him at the gortash fight. Apparently I have to attend something in order for him to be here
Am I the only person who can't see the video? It just shows the cover picture, Iron throne guide. It's really weirs
The loot is... disappointing
I was expecting a good niche magic item at the very least given the nature of the mission
It was the journey for me, not so much the reward. But yeah, having some kind of nice reward would have been cool.
@joceja23 Yeah, I do wish there were more missions like that. A lot of them boil down to hitting the enemy a lot.
@joceja23 Tides of Numenera tried doing something unique with combat, actually giving you several different ways to end fights that don't just involve fighting. It was met with mixed results. I do like that BG3's combat is tactically diverse, at least earlier on, and some fights hinge on you positioning or using specific tactics to be successful. Unfortunately the balance tends to be very played sided mid to late game.
