- If you like electro and if you like swing, well have I got a treat for you! This track "Get A Move On" by Mr. Scruff combines that old time swanky swing with today's electro and the genres compliment each other well. So time to bust out those dancing shoes and get yo swing on!
Hey, for those who are curious, this heavily samples Moondog's "Bird's Lament". If you particularly like the "swing" half of electroswing, that guy is probably worth checking out.
Electro Swing has revitalised my music interest totally.
The love and passion for the old rythm and ambiance combined with drum machines and computer makes a whole new style. Go Parov and all the others, make love not noise!!!
I LOVE ELECTROSWING!
Yes. Caravan Palace. Lyre le temps. La Rochelle. Parov Stelar. Swing Republic. Electric Swing Circus. Just to name a few artists.
random song, preparing rouch for smoke, tune is awesome ... chillout dude...
Loose Charleston catchy funka grooves, I'd expect nothing less from the maestro of beats, Mr Northern Scruffster. Loved this song years. He draws the cartoons, most of his videos has the same potato/Kojak people, it's their grins I like.
And don't forget Belleruche's "Minor Swing" and Tape Five's "The Flappers Delight". The latter really has an electroswing feel. I love you too
It's crazy how fucking cool this song is
Then techno transformed into house. See, funk and house had babies and made electro, drum-n-bass, and glitch hop. Electro went and had a kid with swing. Drum-n-Bass was a wild one and went onto meet up with raggae and rock and made dubstep, moombahton and such. Glitch hop adopted a kid called Trap.
So the youngest generation of the family: electroswing, dubstep, moombahton, and trap - are the ones I prefer listening to. :3
I think GM used this for one of their car commercials going back around 7 or 8 years ago. Cool song, even when you're not high.
Arguably the greatest British single of the last 15 years
i loooooove electro swing!
Smooth... simple... and oh-so-cool... no matter what age you are!
Thank you for putting those artists up! They're all awesome and funky as hell!
3:22 the baddest bassline
+David Featherman You aint lying!!!!
Electroswing is awesome, I love this and Nu Disco, and Italodance
time for a re release, hey. so chilled yet active. nice.
alan dobson best. comment.
Electro Swing is the future
This song has a place on all my playlists.
For me it's just on my March 2014 playlist, although that was one of the most significant months in my life (more impactful than the 2020 lockdown). It was when I actually really genuinely tried hard to find a girlfriend in the wild and failed brutally. It set a precedent for everything, as if I was destined to be an incel.
But since then I've found a way to cheat at reproduction (because of the fact of being a genius). 😏 I swore to myself that I'm the God of everything and that any universe only counts if I have offspring, and finally now I can say in 2020 officially this universe counts. At least! Otherwise you reading this text I'm writing would be pointless.

Yes, and disco transformed into techno.
I breakdance to this song every day. Just love this song
@silvercrest55 I threw on the top hat and started dancing immediately. And felt like the biggest boss on the block.
Come on folks, this is a Moondog (Louis Thomas Hardin) composition from the 60s using a 5/4 time signature. See "Take Five" by Dave Brubeck as well.
*Drives a Lincoln Town Car while listening to this song*
Signature Series
I love the song and I love the video. Just reminds me of Manhattan on a Saturday night and be-bopping around!
Just found out this was inspired by Moondog's 1969 song Bird's Lament - very similar in sound, although I like the added beats that give this that Ninja Tune sound!
just trying to be clear. you got my point, job done.
Whoever woulda thought that Electro Swing would stand for 'Electronic Swing'? Wow, thanks for that. Care to point out that that the Web means the Internet as well? Coz there may be some confusion over that.
MOOOONDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOG!
I like the dancing ravioli.
just discovered this was actually a genre and i love it .... knew of der dritte raums swing bopp for a while but just thought it was a remix. was pleasently suprised. :)

@ Aly Y. JFYI Mr. Scruff (Andy Carthy) samples two songs: Moondog's "bird's Lament" and Shifty Henry‘s "Hyping Woman Blues".

Discovered this back in 2002/2003 in a Lincoln car commercial
Electro swing. Brilliant :)
Probably already mentioned, but the main sample is from 'Bird's Lament', by Moondog.

@cagepondroad
yeah, i remember this song directly from those commercials
@cagepondroad: It wasn't GM, it was Ford. Actually, to be more accurate, it was Lincoln for the LS sedan.

J'aime beaucoup! C'est si bon!
I want one just like that... Swing needs to come back a little more first. I think.
Not everything has to be warped beyond recognition. Sometimes minimalistic editing is the way to go.

it´s even a perfekt beat 2 rap 2 !
Fantastic music and vid!!!
Well done!
I like the moondog sample
The song makes me happy and laughing. +1
@wynntom Depends if you judge swing time by quavers or semiquavers in this. The semiquavers are swung.
amazing talent !
You can't forget Goldfish!
this is a 1999 track, out of the 'keep it unreal' album!!!!!
All rise for the Electroswing National Anthem.
I am cat, and I approve

It samples 'bird's lament' by Moondog
And Techno evolved into Dubstep... now we are here...
