      Thank You! Transparency within the travel industry is slim, so hoping to open up the conversation a bit

    Thank you so much for making this video! 500euro for 2 flights is extremely cheap! Cant even find a one way for that!

    I'm leaving this month, so excited! But I'm so on the fence on how much cash to bring... I'm going volunteering first for 2 weeks and won't be able to keep an eye on my belongings at all times so I'm a bit nervous to bring a lot of cash. At the same time I know what a pain ATMs can be lol. How much cash did you bring of each currency, and would you recommend bringing rather less or more?

      I only took out some SA RAND and used Atm’s all the time, they do have a bit of a fee but I’d take out 200euro’s worth at a time and spread my cash out across my belongings

    Extremely helpful video!! where did you get your SIM card from in Namibia? I am doing this exact tour in October

    • @travelaimes
      @travelaimes  11 месяцев назад

      For South Africa I used airalo: Hey, have you tried an eSIM? Get US$3 off your first eSIM data pack from Airalo. Use code LISAUR9278 when you sign up or apply it at checkout. ref.airalo.com/zKdK
      And for Namibia, they stopped for us at the first gas station in Namibia and helped us out to get it installed on our phones

      @@travelaimes Thank you! Another quick question - for the optional activities in Namibia could you pay for them using rand or did they have to be paid in Namibian dollars?

    • @travelaimes
      @travelaimes  11 месяцев назад

      ZAR and NAD were both used, they have the same conversion, so you can pay in South African Rand or you can use ATM in Namibia to get local currency. @@user-eq8gq4gy7g

    What are your thoughts on doing the tour with a group of three friends?

    • @travelaimes
      @travelaimes  Год назад

      It’s hard as a group of 3, since you’ll sleep in tents of 2 and have a fixed buddy. I’d rather go with 1 friend or solo

    • @HenningHack
      @HenningHack Год назад

      @@travelaimes don't you think it would be possible to switch tent mates every few days? I mean if the person is fine with that it shouldn't be an issue?

    • @travelaimes
      @travelaimes  Год назад

      @@HenningHack you can always do it but i’d be careful, to see no one is left out. It’s also on the bus/lando where you are just sitting in 2s

    That’s not bad cheaper than my mortgage lol … considering the 21 day trip from Cape Town to Victoria falls in the fall

    How did you manage to pay only 500€ for flights? I was looking into flights and 500€ is the minimum for ONE leg. So i would oay more than 1000€ for flights

    • @travelaimes
      @travelaimes  Год назад +1

      It’s just based on good searching skills and being flexible, i flew ams-cpt and joburg-paris. So i was able to find the best deals and then find cheap transport to AMS and from Paris to Belgium! It’s worth it to look into different dates, maybe arriving earlier or later! Also i’d try and book about 3 months in advance.?I’ll make a video about this soon!

    Heyy, what about visa's and vaccines? I guess vaccines depend on your health insurance and which ones you already have, but aren't some of the visas pretty expensive? I'm looking into the Nairobi -> Cape Town trip and it seems like I need about 7 visas which are between 50 and 80 euro's each :'(

    • @travelaimes
      @travelaimes  Год назад +1

      As a Belgian I only needed a visa for Zimbabwe, all the others were visa free for me. And I recommend getting the Kaza Visa at the entrance, which is about 45 usd i believe

    • @travelaimes
      @travelaimes  Год назад +1

      As for vaccines I already have most of my vaccines, but got rabies and tetanus for this trip (also have yellow fever which is required for Tanzania if you’d do that trip)

      @@travelaimes ahh okay yeah I see that most of the countries that require visas are the ones that weren’t part of your trip. Thanks for the quick reply:)
