A good collection, is a collection that achieve to make the viewer forget that he's looking at products. The rest is mostly a matter of sensibility and taste. This was not a good collection. This collection is too simple in concept as well as for the clothes themselves. One can always bring up the vertu of simplicity and minimalism and how superior they are. We are in a capitalistic system and the fondamental mantra here is this : more profits and less costs. That's true for all industries, creative industries as well, and this collection is just that. Too much of that. It's quite simple ; Prada have served very interesting collections since a couple of seasons with pieces that SCREAMED high cost of production ( F/W 2016- F/W 2017 are good exemples ) and now its time to bring in easy money . Basically, this show was about 3 things ; the head pieces, the introduction of a new purse and the primeknit shoes. The top introduced at 1:39 is an interesting piece; the hole in the front and the ones at the back of the sleeves make it possible to flip it and wear it in other ways witch is very about our times where functional now means '' things that can do anything'' . That bag at 2:19 is just awkward, its neither interesting, neither nice. Her FW 2008 show was one the most awkward men's show I've seen so far and yet it was very interesting. Lets see how they're gonna market this one and what the campaign will look like.
