Increase low teachers pay. Nobody wants to teach because they'd rather work in the corporate world or abroad. Provide them with more effective trainings or faculty development programs. Encourage the big wigs of the private sector to provide with more resources as not everyone has TV sets or computers or adequate, and books! There is a very serious dearth of books when internet availability may not even be reliable or even existing in many of our schools. And mind you, all schools for that matter not only our public schools but also our private schools also need assistance and support. They cannot do it alone. Everybody needs to help them. It takes a whole country to lift our standard of education.
Non-educators seem more knowledgable about teaching and learning compared to teachers and practitioners themselves. This is probably why we're left behind in education. I hope real educators and teachers craft policies, programs, and projects as they are the ones themselves who see the problems, inadequacies, and are therefore in a better situation to find real solutions.
Another thing, yung mga teachers din train them to be better educators kasi napansin ko like for example english teachers, mali mali grammar. How can you teach something you do not know or are not good at.
